The living area of our room.
Maria D.

We stayed in room 307 for one night over Labor Day weekend to attend the Dead Man's Curve car show. Price was fair and the location was very convenient. With that being said while we did like our accommodations there are definitely some things that needed attention and for that reason we are giving this location a high 3 stars. First the pros: aside from the location and price our room was very spacious, modern, clean, and tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable although the pillows were undersized for a king size bed. The bathroom had ample counter space and for once we finally got enough towels! Breakfast was included in the morning and served its purpose. The front desk was friendly and helpful. On the downside this location is off an exit ramp and very easy to drive by. If you miss it (and in case you are not familiar with Route 17) passing your location or going to somewhere directly across the street takes a bit of effort. It is a divided highway and left hand turns are not possible due to a concrete barrior. You must drive a few miles (typically 2-4 miles) for a turnaround, drive up and past your location (on the opposite side) to another turn around point than come back down. A bit of a nuisance but we stayed in Paramus before and were familiar with this highway. The breakfast area is also undersized for a hotel this size. They wasn't a designated attendant like at the Hampton Inn that constantly cleans and replenishes stock. Our table was sticky and another family were already hopping in our seats before we even cleared the table. I had to go to the front desk to request to have the syrup refilled. While the bed was clean and comfortable I did notice that our duvet was "naked" meaning there wasn't a cover - just a flat sheet overtop and I doubt if it got washed between every guest. Ours had a small blood spot that we noticed after we woke up. The in room refrigerator also did not have a small freezer section so our ice packs were not kept frozen. In fact the refrigerator interior was warm and our water was room temperature after being in it overnight. The bathroom, although spacious and clean had a large door. A door so large that if you are sitting on the toilet you had to move your legs to the side to avoid hitting it. This could easily be remedied by closing the door. The granite countertop was also cracked and filled in with filler leaving an uneven surface. I booked thru Hotels.com because of their generous cancelation policy but found the pricing the same as booking directly. There is also no escaping the road noise at night. Even with all these disappointments I would stay here again.

Entered the room with this in our fridge.

Bedbugs If I could give zero, I would I am writing this…read morereview with absolute disgust and disbelief after our recent stay at [courtyard ]. What was supposed to be a standard stay turned into a living nightmare due to a severe bed bug infestation and a complete breakdown of basic hotel management and customer service. We discovered bed bugs in our room. When we immediately contacted the front desk (around 1 AM), the nightmare really began. It took an unacceptable 27 minutes for a staff member to even show up to speak with us. To make matters worse, they refused to come up to the room to inspect the bugs and shockingly declined to even view the video evidence we had clearly captured. Their apathy was staggering. We were finally moved to a new room on the opposite side of the hotel at 7 AM. After almost no sleep, we were then woken up shortly after by loud, pervasive construction noise directly outside our new room. When I went to the front desk to complain, the manager was incredibly rude and, in a breathtaking display of dishonesty, completely denied that any construction work was happening at the hotel. Furthermore, we were unable to use the pool or gym during our entire stay as they were closed or unavailable, a detail not disclosed to us beforehand. As we were attempting to check out and leave, our exit was physically blocked. The construction crew was using the only functional exit door, making it impossible for us to leave with our luggage for some time. This is not only unacceptable service but a major safety hazard. The manager has refused to refund us for the night we spent with the bed bugs. We are longtime guests who have stayed here twice a year for years. This experience was not just "bad service"; it was a total failure. This hotel is garbage, the staff is unprofessional and rude, and the management is dishonest. We will NEVER stay at this property again and strongly advise every traveler to steer clear for their own health and safety. I have full photo and video documentation of the infestation and the construction noise to back up every word of this review.

BROKEN PROMISES! Our suite room didn't even have a couch or any sitting except for small no back…read morestools at a small table, 2 busted up broken video games, no microwave- it was missing from room, a broken phone, and a half used roll of toilet paper upon check-in. The bathroom caulk has broken down and dark substances around the bathroom cabinets - lack of basic maintenance. As the room phone was broken, I had to speak to the manager in person to resolve the issues. Here is are the results: They moved a loveseat into the suite - yay a place for my family to sit. They brought me a microwave. I guess they move this microwave from room to room as people complain. They didn't do anything about the busted video games- they don't seem to care about this. They said they don't have a replacement phone so I just don't get a phone in my room. They gave me a couple of rolls of toilet paper at the front desk. Not a big deal, but having to go down the elevator because your room phone is busted really sucks. They didn't have replacement room phone so it will just stay broken for the next customers. The superstart breakfast was supposed to have muffins and granola bars as the food. On the last day, the front desk guy only put out blueberry muffins - I asked him for the granola bars and chocolate muffins- he said the General Manager only told him to out blueberry muffins and he was told not to put out the granola bars, so I didn't get anything for breakfast as I didn't want blueberry muffins. He gave me the phone number of the gerneral manager to call him on Monday. Please be certain that if you stay in this room after me - you will have the same problems as me as they don't intend on fixing these things. The room rate was $145 per night was good but we didn't get what was promised and the suite was way way below sub par. I am going to try and get a refund from Expedia as I didn't get what I paid for. I hope this review saves yelpers some disappointment.

Unfortunately I thought that the room comes with a refrigerator, and microwave automatically. I knew on the website they don't have a gym or a pool so we left the hotel to get lunch. We came back to relax and eat. Sadly my food was cold so I went downstairs to microwave my food. Hours later we went back out for dinner we took the stair and when we got to the first floor a man with no mask was walking with around the hallway with a cigarette in his mouth. When we get into the parking lot we realize that there were a lot of cars. As we're leaving to get dinner, and drinks. We came back an hour later to see all the parking spaces full. Lucky we found the last spot. Sadly a couple came in after us looking for a parking spot for a while. We came inside from side entrance realizing the door was cracked open unlocked which is a safety hazard. The next morning I looked on the website to see what time breakfast starts. Unfortunately it didn't say anything about what time breakfast started. I went downstairs around 8:30. I went to the front , a guy behind the front desk by the door looked the other way and knew I was standing there. I had to say excuse is breakfast close he said yes. I then saw a sign that breakfast starts at I think 5am to 8am. I would think it will close till 9:30 or at least have a sign so people know when they check in. You're basically paying for what you get. They do require guest to wear mask when you walk around the front desk or hallway. I feel that all the staff should be wearing mask. I saw a couple with no mask on.

While I never stayed overnight back then, we often came to the bar or for special events. I will let you know about the room, the staff, the atrium, the grounds and the food served at the reunion. More and more hotels are going towards hard floors instead of carpeting. This was one of them. Everything was spotless and the bed was comfortable. There were two things that were not great. Since the room overlooked the atrium, late night groups congregated and were a bit noisy. It would have been nice if they enforced quiet hours. The other was another minor issue. I could not find the refrigerator because it was not in a logical place. There was a small kitchenette off in the corner. The refrigerator was not there, it was under the TV in the main room. Curious. Staff was very helpful but there was one error that almost caused an embarrassing situation. They assigned me to a room that was already occupied by another guest. A staff member came running up to stop me just as my room key was just inches from the door lock.. Expansive and central to the hotel was a beautiful atrium. It included a koi pond, a small bar, fountains, a floral wall and many, many seating areas for parties or receptions. It was noisy. The weekend of our HS reunion, staff mentioned how crazy busy they were. On my arrival there were two wedding receptions in full swing. I was tempted to, but did not pick up a plate and walk through one of the buffet areas. Weather could not have been any better for an outdoor stroll. Gardens, a fountain, lawns, and pavilions were all around the grounds. All were so beautiful I took many photos. There was one large sculpture in one of the yards. People congregated on lawns, playing outdoor games and enjoying the quiet, even though the NY State Thruway was just beyond the tree line. At the reunion, there was a nice buffet. Instead of sampling all the dishes, I opted for chicken, salmon and some rice. Chicken and salmon were nicely seasoned and moist. Coupled with the rice, the meal had a nice mouth feel and flavor. When I finished my plate, I wanted to see what dessert they had. There was none, but then again, I left early because I was tired. They probably brought those out again. However, I actually did get to taste a dessert morsel. Flashback to my thoughts about crashing the buffet line at the wedding reception. Deception was not on my mind, but as I was passing by a dessert buffet, I commented to a young lady that the ice cream bar looked good. The server immediately offered me a bowl. I made it clear that I was not with the party. He said he did not care. So I picked up a petite-fours. It was very good. Overall, the stay was a nice experience. The room was clean, the staff helpful, the atrium and grounds beautiful, and the food was very good especially for buffet service. While I may never get back to the part of the country, if I do I will stay here again, but ask for a room on the far side, away from the atrium noise.

TOXIC BLACK MOLD & TOXIC MANAGER…read more I rolled in my third time staying there thinking how safe and comfortable I felt there. Not many minutes later, I looked up during my shower to find white, brown, and black mold, to which I am profoundly deathly allergic, rare genetics yay!. The receptionist who was sick and coughing all over my keys (now I've got it, thanks for sharing!) said they were sold out and wouldn't switch the room. My throat was starting to constrict but I wasn't in a condition to go anywhere else so I took some Benadryl and prayed I'd make it. I spent two weeks in the hospital over this only two weeks ago. I woke in the morning in the overwhelming pain of a full blown allergic reaction and asked for a different room. The staff was completely discombobulated and in what I could only guess was a state of fear, it was so bizarre. It took them FOUR HOURS to give me keys to a different room that wasn't already occupied. And then three people let themselves into my room throughout the day and the employees kept calling and stopping by to ask me what was going on. The next morning as I was packing up to leave, I got a response to my email from the General Manager Cynthia Amaro who proceeded to tell me there was no mold. Well, allergic reaction to a toxin is a pretty involuntary phenomenon so my eyes, body, and my genes would beg to differ. I chose not to continue to be gaslighted and hung up to continue packing. She called over and over while I asked her to leave me be. My body was still reeling. Instead she came to my room with a bouncer dude and harassed me until I told her 8+ times in a row to go away and leave me alone so that I could finish packing to leave. She continued to speak over me so that she could ultimately threaten me with the police if I wasn't gone in 20 minutes. It was clear why the staff was such a mess for her insane intimidation tactics. Logic? Reason? Bueller? Bueller? So I called the police because it was very clear I was not safe and she was waiting to pounce. They arrived and we chatted about our military service and they characterized the manager as "very aggressive" and said they had been called to the hotel many times. Not only was my bill not refunded for the immense danger I was subjected to, or compensated for the days of illness it would take my body to recover, but I was charged for a third night when I only booked and stayed two. If you're good with toxic mold, a petrified incompetent staff, a wild loose cannon manager that the police are very familiar with, being physically intimidated and then over-charged... this is the hotel for you!! Word to the wise: keep your clothes on because you never know when some entitled person will walk through the door and engage you in a discussion about why you're already there. I think it's a pretty common occurrence given the fact they first sent me to an alternative room that was already occupied. Idk, maybe communal housing with strangers is your thing. You'll definitely get all kinds of unsolicited attention here! Maybe after the pandemic you wouldn't mind the company! Enjoy!
