We stayed on a Friday night. The hotel is under renovations right now, which I know cannot be helped. We were extremely disappointed because we selected this hotel specifically because of the hot tub. After we checked in we decided to check out the pool area and see what the hours for swimming were, only to arrive and find the door locked and a sign that said it was closed. This was not information provided upon making the reservation, nor did the staff inform us when we arrived. We had a room on the second floor, where it was obvious renovations were going on. The hallway had an extremely strong odor of mildew and it was very unpleasant. Luckily, our room didn't smell. The room was quite nice. It was not stocked with toilet paper. We had to go to the front desk and ask for some and the associate couldn't locate any. He ended up taking some from another room and bringing it up to us later. We requested a late checkout of 2pm the evening we arrived and the associate told us we could have one, we just had to inform the manager in the morning. We spoke to the manager Saturday morning and she said the latest we could check out was noon. This was pretty frustrating. We went for the complimentary breakfast and they had many options to choose from. My husband decided to make a waffle. The batter that came out of the dispenser was very odd. It was chunks and liquid separated, very off-putting. He had to dispense several portions of the batter before something resembling waffle batter finally came out. The sausage and scrambled eggs were tasty and served warm. My husband is a big milk drinker when we get breakfast and the pitcher of milk was empty. He tracked down a staff member and she informed us they had no milk. Another disappointment. Overall, we were not satisfied with our stay. One positive was the staff. They were all nice. The room was nice, as well. read more

We booked rooms for a softball tournament, and when we showed up, the lady at the front desk said that she couldn't find our reservation. Then, when we gave her our reservation CONFIRMATION number (confirming 2 rooms) she said she sold our rooms to walk ins despite us having a credit card confirmation of late check-in guaranteeing our room until 7 AM the following day and us calling the hotel the morning of to confirm our reservation. When we got angry and demanded that she figure out something for us, she told us "that's not how it works" and called the police on us. Terrible experience- what's the point of a reservation if they are just going to sell your rooms to someone else? Terrible customer service as when we asked to speak to the manager the lady said she was on the phone with her and that she is the one who said call the police. When we asked for a customer service number she said there isn't one. We stayed at this hotel last year and booked again because we were happy but we will never book here again. Possibly never another Choice hotel. We will stick with Hilton because even if they overbook, they take care of their guests. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We ended up staying with teammates on air mattresses in an Airbnb instead of a nice cozy bed. I would never recommend this hotel or their terrible customer service. This hotel knew exactly what they were doing and did it anyway and we were left without a place to stay 2 hrs from home. read more

We came a long distance for a family celebration, booked 2 nights. The woman at the desk was pleasant and said we had a 3rd floor room. I had asked when making the reservation for 1st or 2nd floor as my husband doesn't do stairs. She looked for something else but said the hotel was full as there were a lot of last minute bookings; I had booked about 3 weeks in advance. The room was clean. We had to report that a lightbulb was missing. Maintenance changed it the next day but it only worked for about 1/2 hr then died permanently. There was no working clock in the room (not everyone used their phones). Next morning: the floor by the elevator was very dirty and the inside of the elevator was even worse. The dining area was not well stocked with plastic utensils and had to ask for napkins at 7:45 am. Coffee was terrible (personal preference). The man at the front desk was not at all friendly either day. Poor representative of the hotel. By afternoon the elevator was mopped but the floor stepping off was even dirtier. The whole place just seemed dirty. We come to Owensboro 2/3 times a year. I would not recommend this place at all nor will we stay there ever again. read more

We had to come back to my hometown for my aunt's funeral. My parent's booked two rooms for Friday night. They weren't adjoining rooms, but were located next to each other on the second floor. The hotel has 3 floors in total. I've stayed at this hotel before, about 5 years ago, I had no issues then. My parents checked in before I arrived, so I don't have any experience with that. The room consisted of a king sized bed, a queen sized sleeper sofa, desk, microwave, tv, refrigerator, single sink bathroom and shower. The king bed was comfortable, it came with 2 soft pillows and 2 firm pillows. I liked how they had a bunch off different outlets that were easy to plug things into. Also, they had USB outputs for your mobile devices. The fridge is rather large for a hotel. It comes with two complimentary bottles of water. They also have a coffee maker with different coffee available, and a bag of popcorn to use in the microwave. They also have free wireless internet, which is pretty fast for hotel internet, 10.52 Mbps download and 7.69 Mbps upload. I think it was free, it might've been because my mom is apart of the Comfort Suites reward program. The bathroom features a toilet with a rather hard flush. When I first flushed it, it startled me. The mirror is placed a little low on the wall. I am 6.2 and had to duck down to see from my mouth and above. The shower was kind of hard to get from the tub return to the shower. I pulled up on the switch a few times, I pulled as hard as I could and it still had some water coming out of the bottom. I spent about an hour ironing a shirt and pants. The iron in the room was pretty sad. It wouldn't heat up that much at all. My mom actually had to borrow the iron in my room because theirs wasn't heating up at all. If I was staying here again, I'd probably bring my own iron. I did like that the heating and air had a setting on the system where you could have the fan run constantly. That is nice because I usually sleep with a fan and find it hard to sleep without the sound of a fan. I was able to try the free breakfast they have in the morning. When we were staying there, I don't think many other people were staying there from the looks of the parking lot and that we looked to be the first people eating from the breakfast at 8:15am. They've got cereal, milk, different types of pasties, bagels, muffins, fruit, eggs, sausage, and even a machine to make your own waffles. I had some of the eggs, okay, I liked the link sausage. They had a cheese danish was I liked. They had 2% milk, along with skim milk. Orange juice, different fruit juice and coffee. After taxes and fees, it ended up being $105 for a room. I think that is a little pricey for a hotel that is about ten years old. The room wasn't too dated, but it didn't look like a $105 a night room. I would say $65-$90 would be a better price. The carpet in the hallways was stained and I think that some of the items in the room could use an update. The checkout staff were very friendly though. read more

Giving it only 4 stars because the spa wasnt clean looked like a lot if dead skin floating in the water kind of tiny white stuff from others there filter must not be working. The room Was spotless. Bed was fresh and the blankets smelled fresh and clean .no bugs we checked which is a very big plus.the ceiling like fixture I see needs the glass cleaned but all in all excellent. read more

On April 27 I contacted the hotel and spoke with the manager, Carla. I explained we would be in town for a tournament and needed a block of 10 rooms. She gave us a quote of $110 for those rooms. I told her the team would be calling back this week to reserve the rooms. She said that was fine, just to ask for her. I called this morning and spoke with a gentleman who said he couldn't find our rooms but said he would have her contact me. At 10:30 I tried calling back and they told me Carla was in a meeting but she would return my call. At 2:00 I called again, again I was told she was in a meeting and would return my call. At 5:00 I tried one more time, this time I spoke with Emma. I explained everything to her and that I wanted to speak someone over Carla. Emma told me to hold and that she would speak to her. Emma then came back on the line and said there were no more rooms for that price. I told her that I had been trying to call all day to reserve those rooms and that was what I was scared of. I then said I wanted to speak to someone over Carla who could fix this. She then put me on hold and came back saying, Carla said, "There is no-one over her". Now, we have a team that can't find lodging due to the manager being inept to handle a situation. I am disgusted with how this was handled. I have left a message with Choice hotels and waiting for a return call. I would not advise anyone to stay somewhere that exhibits such a lack of moral decency! read more

The only real tells that this is an older version of the hotel concept are the heating/cooling unit and tube TV. The staff is very attentive, rooms extremely clean, and the WiFi is above average for hotel connectivity. read more

We stayed one night on our way back to KY from MO. I'm glad we only stayed one night as the room was not very pleasant. We had a difficult time getting the room cooled down with the AC. It was incredibly stuffy when we walked in, and after adjusting the temperature down several times, there was virtually no change in the air temp. The problem was that the cool air was blowing up under the drapes and getting trapped between them and the window. Once we placed some small personal items, like shoes, across the window ledge, holding the drapes down, the air blew unobstructed into the room and the air temp cooled immediately. With the cool air also came the stench of stale cigarettes. In addition, with a mom and two teen girls in the room, we needed more space than the bathroom vanity for hair and make-up. When I plugged my flat iron into the outlet above the small fridge, it repeatedly fell out of the outlet and into the small sink. read more

I've stayed here about 4 times and the staff is always friendly. The last time, they were trying to be formal like they were working at the Ritz Carlton...it was sad and kind of funny to see them be so off target in terms of demographic. The manager was having an argument with a guest which was even more entertaining. The rooms really need painting and I've had a few mattresses well past their prime. Nestled in the shopping area of Owensboro is probably the nicest place to stay all night. We live less than an hour away and have never had to stay the night in the city before. But Dear Daughter had an all nighter ball game making it a must. Comfort Suites had all the amenities we always look for. Secure location, nice room and nice beds, Indoor pool and hot tub, no hassle check out and free breakfast. Our 2 bed room had a pull out couch that made it nice so Dear Daughter and Dear Son didn't have to sleep together. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with coffee and cups, hair dryer and free travel toiletries, nice channel selection on large flat screen tv, good water pressure and shower head and good working air unit were all pluses in our room. Breakfast was good with choices of scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, make your own waffles and syrup and peanut butter. Many other selections of pastries, yogurt, and such. Juices and milk to drink as well. Breakfast served 6am to 10am. Pool open 8am to 10pm. Overall very nice place to stay in Owensboro! read more
