Unless the weather is bad I like to go out for dinner as Owensboro has a couple of excellent BBQ restaurants. This is a great location. The issue I have with the property, is that when the insurance company that I paid to assure I would get a refund for something exactly like this called the front desk, they said I was a "NO SHOW" which is absolutely false!!! No integrity whatsoever. Upon looking at the property, it was probably best I didn't stay there. Plenty of sketchy things going on in the parking lot, homeless people hanging around wanting handouts, and overall felt kind of sketchy. I would have given zero stars, or negative stars if this was an option.

Also, there was a tornado warning for this day.I work remotely and the staff was super accommodating, allowing me to work from the lobby. This was especially gracious during the tornado warning. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was solid. They have flavored waffles in addition to the regular ones, which we thought was a very nice touch. We also made use of the treadmills in the fitness center. I hope to stay here again next time we are in Owensboro!

Then, when we gave her our reservation CONFIRMATION number (confirming 2 rooms) she said she sold our rooms to walk ins despite us having a credit card confirmation of late check-in guaranteeing our room until 7 AM the following day and us calling the hotel the morning of to confirm our reservation. When we got angry and demanded that she figure out something for us, she told us "that's not how it works" and called the police on us. Terrible experience- what's the point of a reservation if they are just going to sell your rooms to someone else? Terrible customer service as when we asked to speak to the manager the lady said she was on the phone with her and that she is the one who said call the police. When we asked for a customer service number she said there isn't one. We stayed at this hotel last year and booked again because we were happy but we will never book here again. Possibly never another Choice hotel. We will stick with Hilton because even if they overbook, they take care of their guests. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We ended up staying with teammates on air mattresses in an Airbnb instead of a nice cozy bed. I would never recommend this hotel or their terrible customer service. This hotel knew exactly what they were doing and did it anyway and we were left without a place to stay 2 hrs from home.

I had asked when making the reservation for 1st or 2nd floor as my husband doesn't do stairs. She looked for something else but said the hotel was full as there were a lot of last minute bookings; I had booked about 3 weeks in advance. The room was clean. We had to report that a lightbulb was missing. Maintenance changed it the next day but it only worked for about 1/2 hr then died permanently. There was no working clock in the room (not everyone used their phones). Next morning: the floor by the elevator was very dirty and the inside of the elevator was even worse. The dining area was not well stocked with plastic utensils and had to ask for napkins at 7:45 am. Coffee was terrible (personal preference). The man at the front desk was not at all friendly either day. Poor representative of the hotel. By afternoon the elevator was mopped but the floor stepping off was even dirtier. The whole place just seemed dirty. We come to Owensboro 2/3 times a year. I would not recommend this place at all nor will we stay there ever again.

We accidentally booked a single bed, and she happily changed it to two queens. Booking online was easy. Although the rooms are smaller than some of the other hotels/motels, they were clean and met our needs. Bathroom was small but clean. The ac worked great! Every morning, fresh Dunkin Donuts and Coffee are delivered for guests to enjoy for free! They also serve sausage gravy and biscuits, instant oatmeal, juice, and toast. There are multiple restaurants/fast food locations within walking distance of the hotel. If we were in area, would definitely use it again.
