The balconies are large and furnished with tables and chairs, and have a beautiful view of the river. It is so enjoyable to sit on the balcony in the morning and evening. I like to bring my dinner back to the hotel to enjoy on the balcony. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. On this stay I'm in a suite, which has a separate bedroom and very nice sitting room with large windows and a great view. There are two TVs and a nice kitchen too. The location is excellent, a very walkable area. You can walk beside the river and also enjoy the downtown area with many nice restaurants. Definitely my favorite place to stay when working in Owensboro.

I have found over the years that the hotels close to the river are always way overpriced at certain times of the year so if you are willing to stay a little off the beaten path then give this hotel a shot. The hotel is located right off the highway and no more than ten to fifteen minutes from most of the major attractions in Owensboro. This hotel has all the amenities you need for a one or multiple-night stay. The staff are professional and this hotel is very well run by management and staff. My room was clean, and spacious and had everything I needed for two nights. The hotel has an excellent fitness center, indoor lounge areas, outdoor lounge areas and a very busy pool, Breakfast includes a variety of hot and cold choices, pastries, bread and cereals, fresh fruit and above-average coffee. The rooms have full fridges and useable kitchenettes, and depending on the size of the room you may have a bigger kitchen area. The room has many electrical outlets and USB charging stations for all of your devices. If you have USB-C then bring your charging blocks. The AC and heating units in your room work very well and are not that noisy. Wifi is easy to connect to and if you are a Bonvoy member you get the upgraded wifi at no additional charge, Lastly, this hotel has digital keys so you can skip the line up when you check in and they automatically send you your bill when you check out. Overall an affordable, well-run Marriot property and my number one place to stay when I'm in the area.

As a Bonvoy member for years, I stay at this Courtyard in Owensboro, KY, when there. It's a good…read morelocation for me. I used the Bonvoy Mobile App to make my reservations and keep track of them. I made my last reservation in the app, as I have done for years. I selected my dates and type of room. It comes up with a rate that says taxes & fees included. I booked my reservation with my credit card. After my stay, I was charged extra for taxes and fees. The local office nor corporate would honor my rate. They denied being able to see my rate and left the burden on me to prove the unprovable. It was simple to see looking at future dates I could book the same rate with all taxes & fees included. I walked the hotel manager through the app site and she reluctantly saw what I was saying, but still blamed me for not looking at an email they sent me which changed what I had agreed to on line. It was the classic bait & switch and no one cared. Note that I had recommended that 9 other people attending the same event stay there and most paid about $150.-200. Less. Most were not Bonvoy members. It's interesting to see the trend of customer service. My last two trips I had ants in my room very late when I returned. Another time I had a door that would not close when I left unless I held the bolt in from the inside. The next time I asked for room cleaning only once over 4 nights and it was not cleaned. I always mentioned it but I never demanded a new room or anything. The last problem is they overcharged the holding fee. The last day, there were few cars in the lot. I asked if I could check out 30 minutes late due to a meeting and they refused, saying my membership level did not qualify for a late check out. I'm guessing this is poorly managed as a franchise, but I honestly will take my friends and try to stay elsewhere.

I did, and received a response that someone would get back to me within 24 hours. I waited in the lobby for over two hours, and ended up going somewhere else. The issue I have with the property, is that when the insurance company that I paid to assure I would get a refund for something exactly like this called the front desk, they said I was a "NO SHOW" which is absolutely false!!! No integrity whatsoever. Upon looking at the property, it was probably best I didn't stay there. Plenty of sketchy things going on in the parking lot, homeless people hanging around wanting handouts, and overall felt kind of sketchy. I would have given zero stars, or negative stars if this was an option.

After we checked in we decided to check out the pool area and see what the hours for swimming were, only to arrive and find the door locked and a sign that said it was closed. This was not information provided upon making the reservation, nor did the staff inform us when we arrived. We had a room on the second floor, where it was obvious renovations were going on. The hallway had an extremely strong odor of mildew and it was very unpleasant. Luckily, our room didn't smell. The room was quite nice. It was not stocked with toilet paper. We had to go to the front desk and ask for some and the associate couldn't locate any. He ended up taking some from another room and bringing it up to us later. We requested a late checkout of 2pm the evening we arrived and the associate told us we could have one, we just had to inform the manager in the morning. We spoke to the manager Saturday morning and she said the latest we could check out was noon. This was pretty frustrating. We went for the complimentary breakfast and they had many options to choose from. My husband decided to make a waffle. The batter that came out of the dispenser was very odd. It was chunks and liquid separated, very off-putting. He had to dispense several portions of the batter before something resembling waffle batter finally came out. The sausage and scrambled eggs were tasty and served warm. My husband is a big milk drinker when we get breakfast and the pitcher of milk was empty. He tracked down a staff member and she informed us they had no milk. Another disappointment. Overall, we were not satisfied with our stay. One positive was the staff. They were all nice. The room was nice, as well.

When we got angry and demanded that she figure out something for us, she told us "that's not how it works" and called the police on us. Terrible experience- what's the point of a reservation if they are just going to sell your rooms to someone else? Terrible customer service as when we asked to speak to the manager the lady said she was on the phone with her and that she is the one who said call the police. When we asked for a customer service number she said there isn't one. We stayed at this hotel last year and booked again because we were happy but we will never book here again. Possibly never another Choice hotel. We will stick with Hilton because even if they overbook, they take care of their guests. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We ended up staying with teammates on air mattresses in an Airbnb instead of a nice cozy bed. I would never recommend this hotel or their terrible customer service. This hotel knew exactly what they were doing and did it anyway and we were left without a place to stay 2 hrs from home.

We accidentally booked a single bed, and she happily changed it to two queens. Booking online was easy. Although the rooms are smaller than some of the other hotels/motels, they were clean and met our needs. Bathroom was small but clean. The ac worked great! Every morning, fresh Dunkin Donuts and Coffee are delivered for guests to enjoy for free! They also serve sausage gravy and biscuits, instant oatmeal, juice, and toast. There are multiple restaurants/fast food locations within walking distance of the hotel. If we were in area, would definitely use it again.
