Let me just start by saying, the plumbing here is problematic and when I told management about it, they told me that TOILET PAPER DOESN'T GO IN THE TOILET. I was in shock. Also, our first hotel room toilet overflowed and when my partner went to the front desk to tell them (because the in-room telephone wasn't working), they offered him a plunger!! When we finally got a new room, I went to take a shower and there were used up soap pieces in the shower as well as used shampoo bottles. I imagine this means the bathroom wasn't cleaned. I travel to the New England area every year for work and I would not be able to bring myself to stay at this Comfort again. I'm not even really sure how this place stays open under the Comfort/Choice name. Comforts are usually solid. read more

This is the absolute worst hotel experience I've ever had. There was a giant gash on the comforter exposing all the cotton inside. Called housekeeping multiple times and there was no answer. Called front desk multiple times and still no answer. Finally, I go down there myself and find the front desk person casually scrolling on their cell phone. That wouldn't upset me normally because hey, if there's no work to do at 9pm after everyone has been checked in/out, by all means do as you'd like on your phone...BUT how do you just ignore the constant ringing at the front desk? I explained the comforter situation to the young woman at the front desk and to her credit, she did seem concerned. She told me that housekeeping will take care of it the next day if I call back or stop by the desk again before noon. I asked her for another comforter until then and she came back with a single throw blanket. I asked for another since it would hardly cover me, let alone both me and my partner. She comes back again with a comforter this time that I can only assume she was able to rummage out of some closet in the back because when I got back up into the room, the comforter had a number of brown and orange stains varying in all different sizes. Disgusting. The bath towels used the next day had hair in them. Not just a single hair, but DOZENS of loose hair strands all over that looked like it had been melted into the towel itself at some angles. Stopped by the front desk again at 8am the next day again and requested housekeeping and explained yet again about the gashed comforter we threw in the closet and the stained one. I was assured that housekeeping would be informed and that everything would be replaced. We were out the entire day and did not return until after 5pm and to no one's surprise, housekeeping never arrived. Talked to the front desk AGAIN to a gentleman this time and was told that housekeeping simply has not finished their rounds yet. I guess he must've told them in that moment because less than 10 minutes later, they were knocking on our door and of course they came when I needed to use the restroom. To top it all off, my partner was bitten by bed bugs all across her arm. We had only stayed at this Comfort Inn the entirety of our trip. We have been taking pictures of the progress of these bites as I'm sure they'll make another excuse about it, just like they did with housekeeping. We've been calling for the past two days now asking for a refund and each time they have the excuse about the manager not being in or that he had just stepped out. Called three times today after they assured that the manager would give a call back but of course he already left for the day when we called back again after an entire day of no response. The only thing I regret about my vacation is staying here. read more

Wow. Not the best hotel experience. Where to begin? There's the USB plugs that don't work, on the base of the lamp and the back of the tv, the throw pillows instead of bed pillows, the stained couch and duvet covers, the noisy smoking area right outside the building, no tissues in the room, the shower curtain without a liner so the whole bathroom floor gets wet, no napkins at the breakfast bar (and a fairly surly attitude from the attendant when I was told to ask him about it by the front desk staff. That crisis was averted by the one person who seemed interested in providing a good customer service experience - a pleasant woman who I believe was a cleaner, because she offered me a roll of paper towels, after overhearing my fruitless request to the front desk) There was the out of service ice machine, and the closed pool. Also, totally creepy, there's Adirondack chairs set up on the grass in front of the hotel, overlooking the "Academy of Little Children" across the road. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want my little kid being watched by itinerant strangers. All in all, not a hotel I'd ever return to. If they put as much effort into giving their customers a pleasant experience as they do their Halloween decorations, it might have been a different kind of review. read more

Avoid this hotel. We stayed in this hotel for a youth sporting event and encountered transient and shady folks in and around the hotel at all times of day. Drug deals would routinely occur in the parking lot and exits and stairs reeked of pot smoke. Side doors were continually propped open with water bottles to let random people enter. Key cards never worked longer than 24 hours and no id was checked to receive new ones. Our room smelled terrible and other families had leaky toilet/shower water seeping into carpet. Breakfast was mediocre. Hotel staff was mostly helpful but ill-equipped to handle all the shady things happening at this motel. Other guests received duplicate charges of over $400 for their stay. Don't stay here and tournament travel agents should refrain from booking this location. read more

This has to be the worst hotel I've stayed at! My daughter and I stayed here after a long drive. Our first impression was that it was very trashy looking from the outside. The welcome desk/receptionist was not very friendly or communicative what so ever. Got to our room and it was absolutely disgusting! Blood stains on the bedding and other stains that I can only assume were other bodily fluids. Also splash stains on the lamp shade. Even after paying for our room in advance, we still had to pay a deposit. When we arrived to our room, the heating system was broken and so was the phone in the room. The carpets on our way to our room were dirty but our rooms was clean. We were given another room at our request which was good. We went to the pool which had clumps of hair and other stuff in it. When I informed the front desk, I was told maintenance was not available in the weekends. So, we did not swim. The sink in our new room would only shut off to a drip or thin stream. But the shower was nice. The breakfast was ok. Eggs were in the shape of small pancakes. All processed food which I guess is the norm. Anyway, we will not be using Comfort Inn in the near future again. read more

The lobby smells like weed, the floors and hallways are all sticky. And I was completely disgusted with my room I was given. I went to the front desk to ask for all fresh bedding so I could make the bed myself because I did not want to even lay on the bed. The front desk agent gave me a different room. Also, the shampoo/conditioner/lotion was all open and half used. When we checked in they didn't bother to verbally tell us that breakfast was only served from 6 to 9am. To top it all off, they gave me some one else's bill with their address and other information on it and gave my information to another room. What a disappointment when we learned, upon arrival, from the desk clerk that "We haven't had a Pool in years!" Time to change/update your website then! Another traveler checking in just before me, obviously was upset, too because he muttered to me as he passed me "We should complain online." Room also had no hair dryer, the carpeting (& draperies?) had an "old socks" smell and the electric outlets on the bedside lamp were dead. We had a very nice stay here on our WaterFire weekend. The room rate was $179, not too bad for a city location. We tried to stay closer to Providence but couldn't find anything. Comfort Suites is located in a commercial area, right next door to Cox Cable and across the street from a daycare center. The front desk agent was pleasant and polite. The room was big and comfy with a nice work desk. The bathroom was big and modern. We had mixed results with the free WiFi. I couldn't connect, but my wife and son had no issues. The free breakfast was pretty good - all kinds of pastries and cereals, two kinds of make your own waffles, yogurts, and a few hot dishes like sausages, cheese omelettes and plain omelettes. Even the juice in the dispensers was fine- unlike the weak & watery slop you find so often. I really didn't have one complaint about the hotel...... read more

I have to start by saying the front desk staff was nice but several things will make sure I never stay again. The website says indoor pool, it is closed until further notice so strike one, first room didn't have a fridge so they move us to a room with a broken bed and the shampoo and conditioner are only 2/3 full, the front desk says they evaporate not that they were used. Never heard that before and never happens in a store. So they move us back to original room and move fridge, ok. Well much later we notice mold on the shower curtain and dried pee under the back of the toilet (we had spent the day out) gross!! So go down for hot breakfast, waffle maker, great well you can make a waffle but they have no butter or syrup. You can make toast but can't butter it. I tell the woman at check out about the room condition and she says she is going to take $50 off for the dirty room, it shows on my receipt but the whole amount came out of my account and there is a hold for another $50. The manager says the first $50 will be a refund which my bank does not see yet???? I choose this hotel purposely because of the pool and breakfast. Very disappointed! read more

We stayed 3 nights. The first night we reported that we had no hot water. We were in town for a wedding. We did not have time to hang around and wait for someone to come in, We were NEVER told that they would not come in to fix unless we were IN the room. So we had ice water showers Same story the next day- Finally fixed on SUNDAY. AFTER the wedding. The freezer part of the mini fridge was a solid block of ice that dripped all over the medications we had to store in the fridge part. No one came to sort that out and the list after that is small and just goes on., The room did not ruin our trip but ice cold showers? And TODAY I find a pre auth on my credit card for another charge? I am livid .When I asked for a manager EVERY time I asked and I was polite EVERY Time even when I wanted to cry, I was told there was none on duty. They should have offered some compensation on the rate as apology but nothing- not even an I'm sorry or an offer to move the room. YEs I am still upset and angry, This trip was big deal. Hotel was clean and well laid out. Staff was helpful and gave me a tube of toothpaste I forgot. Room was large and clean, although the entry way smelled a bit of unclean carpet smell - hard to discern what exactly it was. The breakfast was ok, but there were no hot items only cold ones you come to expect, bread, fruit, yogurt, etc. Coffee was not good. For a cheaper hotel I'd give this 4 stars. But for $200 a night, they better have a good breakfast with good coffee. read more

First it is conveniently located off the highway and off of route 2 with everything you need in short distance and quiet setting off route2. I stayed here for a week while work was being done at my house. The lobby is very clean. The check-in girl was great; she was very welcoming, friendly, pleasant and professional. She actually seemed like she enjoys her job. The entire staff was great during my stay and very pleasant. The complimentary continental breakfast isn't happening right now because of Covid; however they have a list of to go items to choose from (muffins, danishes, yogurt, cereal, juices, etc) and will make a to-go bag or tray to take. I had a king bed suite room which was great. The room is spacious, modern, extremely clean and comfortable. The room has a good sized mini fridge, Coffee maker, sofa, desk which was nice as I work from home right now, large comfortable king bed, and nice bathroom with good shower pressure. The indoor pool is by appointment only (up to 6 people at a time). The pool area is nice and the water temperature was nice (hate when go to hotel and Indoor heated pool is freezing). The gym is also by appointment only at this time (1 person at a time). The gym is small but adequate for at least a workout (dumbbells, incline bench, two elliptical machines and tv). Overall a great stay, great pleasant staff, very clean, great price for amenities and would definitely stay here again. Stay somewhere else. I NEVER leave reviews but this stay was so bad that I have to. I wish 0 stars was an option. I stayed with them one night from May 21-22. Upon checking in, the first room smelled really bad of mold, the wallpaper had bubbles, were damp, and were collapsing. My fiance could smell the odor from outside before we even opened the room door. Once in the room, the smell was unbearable. This agitated my fiance's asthma to the point where even after changing rooms she still felt symptoms of her asthma acting up. The alarming issue is that before we were given our room, the front desk agent asked one of the hotel staff to check the room and make sure it was good to go. This staff member said it was ready with no issues. After complaining of the smell, the cleaning staff said "I sprayed the room" showing that there was no effort made to check what the source of the smell was. This was not a normal "bad smell" but was unbearable and warranted further inspection but they just covered it up with airspray. We were then moved to our second room. This room had somewhat less of an odor (still not perfect) but with an airspray covering over it. The AC didn't work, there were stains on the window (moisture stains) and there was purple residue (mold) on the walls and dark colored mold in the bathroom. My fiance's asthma got worse and was having a hard time breathing. We went back to alert the front desk and they said "that room should have been on our do not rent list". Should have been. -_- Then we were moved to our 3rd room. This last room didn't have any visible mold but still didnt smell the best. My fiance still had a tough time breathing for the remainder of our stay. This room had one pillow with a red stain of what seemed like blood on it. There were bugs coming out of the bathroom sink and the vent in the bathroom wasn't working. This made the breathing conditions even worse and the general smell of using the bathroom lingered. I spoke to the front deak about these issues and they said I have to email a representative. Everytime I tried speaking to a representative to get this issue resolved, they gave me the name of someone else to speak to, or just never responded. Finally someone told me I have to speak to Expedia since I booked through them. When I finally spoke to Expedia they said we have to speak directly to the front desk even though they were the first people I spoke to and said they couldn't help! For over a month I was emailing and calling trying to get a refund and they made this the most painful experience ever. In the end they offered me a partial refund and told me to take it or leave it. I'm a simple guy and don't expect fancy or over the top accommodations at a hotel. I at least expect basic human health, sanitation, and safety to be considered and this hotel's staff showed blatant disregard for that. They don't care about you or your stay they just want your money. read more

We chose this hotel because of the price. We also had driven from NJ so we had a car which is crucial for this location. Lots of stores and movies and restaurants close by. We drove to Narragansett each day for the beach and with this location we are the middle of Narragansett and Providence. The kids loved the pool and swam everyday. It was a nice back up in case of rain. Our room was a good size. Laundry was ok not great but it worked. $2 for washer $2 for dryer they sell soap and dryer sheets at the front desk and will give you quarters. The extra bathroom near the pool was convenient. the kids loved the breakfast each day. we never had any loud noises at night. it was good. parking was easy. The front desk was helpful and recommended LAUNCH trampoline park when we didn't want to go to the beach. It turned out to be a highlight. read more

Stayed at this Comfort Suites for a weekend and I definitely enjoyed my stay. The value here was unbeatable (~$90 for a king suite). The rooms were clean, the bed was super comfortable and everything looked new and luxurious. The hotel was everything we could ask for. However, we didn't really have to interact with the staff much besides checking in (which took less than two minutes). Just to point out - there's a tiny pool and a little workout room, neither of which I used. Honestly, the biggest thing to rave about is the value here. If you're coming to visit Providence, or even Newport, I'd recommend staying here if you don't mind traveling about 20-25min. read more

This was horrible. I've stayed here for years and loved it, starting in 2016, and my family and I chose to stay in March for emergency visits to my family. First visit we were there for 8 days. The floor we were on smelled like there were multiple people smoking in multiple rooms. It's a NON SMOKING hotel! We let the front desk know but the smoking continued for our entire stay. And the weed smoking was out of control. Not just cigarettes. The next week we were back for the funeral in one of their LARGE suites. Different floor. The room had very obviously been smoked in very recently. It permeated EVERYTHING and when we turned on the heater, the stench was unbearable. We asked if there was another room and let them know why. Sold out. The pull out couch was for my 5yo to sleep. Firstly, it was covered with stains on the cushions, so we just took them off. Pulled out the bed. Dirty. Sheets. It was awful. Luckily we had a king bed so he slept with us, even though we did get clean sheets, it was gross. Then the day we checked out, we found ants in the bedroom. No food from us was ever eaten in there. But they were there in full force. Unfortunately, we used to stay here every time we visited but we will NEVER go back. read more

Stayed here for 6 days on business. The place is clean and well run. Everything was fine and would stay here again if in the area. Free USA Today paper each morning. A grab bag on week day mornings to take if your in a hurry or in addition to breakfast. It has a bottled water, breakfast type bar and a fruit. The hot breakfast was fine on the level of hotel breakfasts, but if you want a sit down breakfast, there is a restaurant call Gel's that is not too far and they serve a wonderful breakfast. read more

Wow! Talk about customer service! This place is great! Our room was clean and perfect for 3 people with our pull out sofa bed. So we called yesterday to say we were arriving a little late and the young lady at the desk was so awesome she said don't worry we are good. I asked if I needed to pay with a credit card on the phone she said you can wait until Sunday when you check out. We went to the pool and it was perfect at 10:00 at night. Small but clean and empty. The bed was super comfy and the shower worked really well. You are only 30 to 49 minutes from Newport. We highly recommend! read more

This place is amazing! 5 of us had to come up to Rhode Island for a funeral and stayed 5 days 4 nights, Sun-Thurs. They were very accommodating and the price was right! The suite we stayed in was spacious and comfortable for all 5 of us. The pull out couch isn't the most comfortable but good enough for how long we were there. The housekeeping services were great! Jen at the front desk was very kind and courteous! We spoke with her throughout our stay and she was very friendly! You can tell she really cares about her job and this place! The indoor pool is great, the water is clean and cool! The breakfast was PHENOMENAL!! I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge spread of eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, waffles, sausage, yogurt, bagels, muffins, coffee, juices, and more! From check in to check out, my entire experience was great and I will definitely be staying here anytime I'm in Rhode Island!!! read more
