I must say we had a beautiful stay. I got married and this was my hotel of choice. I stayed two separate nights once with my family and then once with my husband, back to back days. So this will help the review. The Thursday night we stayed was my mother and I, she got a junior suite. It had 2 king size beds, a beautiful living room area with a lot of seating and tv, a huge walk in closet and beautiful decor all around. This was a perfect set up for all the girls to get ready for the wedding the next day, it was spacious and made for beautiful pictures. Some areas do need a little cleaning up, and some decor needed a little tweaking but overall the room was magical. We stayed on the 10th floor and overlooked the city, it was a beautiful view. An issue that I ran into was the doors slam HARD. You'll get used to it but it sounds so loud you can hear everyone leaving their rooms if they don't slowly close the door themselves. Also the toilets when you sit they move, kind of feels like they're broken even though they aren't so be mindful of that. And then being that high up be mindful it takes about 5-10 minutes for the shower water to warm up. It does get extremely hot after that waiting period but if you didn't know you'd think there's no hot water. The check in process both times was pretty smooth. When my husband and I checked in for our stay, the lady who checked us in was pushy and kind of rude. I didn't like her very much, an older taller woman. All the younger people were sweet as pie and very helpful. We stayed In a one bed and this was excessively smaller to what I had the night before of course but we worked with it. I think for the price point for this room it didn't match. Yet again we needed the hotel for pictures and the ambience, and it did its job being able to take pictures in the lobby, the grand staircase the balcony area all of those were worth it. But I would never get that room again , it's not worth it. The decor is beautiful don't get me wrong but we had too much stuff from the wedding that room became extremely tight- fast. The elevators are very small, and creepy. But they did their job. The security personnel were great. They did their job, were great to talk to, and very kind. They even helped us navigate places- when we had questions. They became like our friends because we used them a lot since so many of us were in and out to prep for my wedding adventures. The Graduate is a former Biltmore Hotel built in 1922. The suites offer a separate bedroom and living area. The suite was spacious and very comfortable. Staff was friendly and cleaning crew did an amazing job keeping the rooms clean and well stocked with towels. Upon entering the lobby of The Graduate, we were immediately struck by the beauty of the hotel lobby, which retained its older charm without appearing outdated. However, upon checking in on a Monday evening, we were informed hotel guests would have no hot water from 10:00pm to 7:00am. Uh, that's awfully inconvenient. Who the heck wants to start their day with a cold shower at 6:00am? The desk clerk went on to describe the wonderful Reiners bar and game room, so we were looking forward to playing some pool and karaoke after dinner, only to find out it was closed on Monday night? Why would the desk clerk recommend we check out the Monday night karaoke at a hotel bar that is not even open?! Our 2 King Bed Suite was fine, though the shower curtain rod was falling off the wall, and thus, the curtain didn't stay closed very well. Also, the sink outside the toilet/shower area was incredibly dark with horrible lighting. Really awful for anyone hoping to shave, apply makeup, etc. read more

The Graduate by Hilton is an exquisite hotel. When you walk in, it feels like you walk back in time. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The decore is ecletic from the color of all wall paper to the furniture. It's wonderful being a Diamond member as you do get additional perks. My standard king size room was upgraded to graduate king suite. The suite was huge and it came with a mini fridge. The ambiance was magnificent. In the winter time there is an ice skating ring right across the street. The hotel has a cute cafe and resturant there are several dinning options at the front desk. Great location, downtown, near Brown University, and 15 minutes from the airport. Older building, air conditioning and heating aren't simultaneously ran in the building, so you might need a fan if you're too hot or cold. Otherwise nice areas to sit and study inside. read more

***August 2025 update: Another amazing weekend in Providence with our 3rd stay at the Graduate. Things got off to a less-than stellar start because the room we were upgraded to, wasn't what was pictured. We originally booked the Graduate King Suite and then requested an upgrade to the Graduate King Larger Suite. As you'll see in my pics, the larger suite appears to have a separate bedroom with french doors. However, the room we were provided was a studio with no separate rooms and didn't suit our liking. This misunderstanding was quickly resolved by the front desk worker, Angelica. Angelica was apologetic and quickly resolved the issue by letting us transfer back to the room we originally booked. We've already got our return trip booked and are eagerly counting down the days. We love this place. read more

Stayed two nights. We had a beautiful suite, but there is no walk in shower. We had two bathtubs. There are so few electrical outlets it is very hard to plug in anything. It seems like the hotel was built before the invention of electricity. They connected up a refrigerator, lamp, TV and coffeemaker to one plug! There are no services, no bellman, no one to greet you at the front entrance. A big suite, but only one side of our king size bed had a lamp, electric outlet or table. The other side had NOTHING, NOT EVEN A LIGHT. The bathrooms had all new appliances, but why not at least one walk in shower for this 80 year old. We have frequent business trips to Providence and will never stay in this hotel again. We are Hilton Honers members. read more

This was our first time at a Graduate Hotel and we loved it. Located in the former iconic Biltmore Hotel is this charming and interestingly themed place. The Graduate theme is college and you can see it in all the details. Your room key is a student ID of someone famous, the coffee bar front is pencils, there are pictures and artwork all over evoking school. We booked a King Suite room which was very affordable for the size. This was honestly our cheapest, yet biggest room we had during our New England trip. The room had a beautiful view of the capital and downtown. There was a separate living room area and one of the comfiest beds ever. Be mindful this is a historic building so there are some quirks, including the one pipe system. This means the whole building is either in AC or Heat mode. As this was still early October it was still in AC mode, so despite the colder temps outside you could not turn on the heat. We simply asked for some extra blankets and where perfectly happy. Our stay here was perfect and were sad we only had one night. Consider this on your next trip to Providence. read more

I was here for a fundraiser and I absolutely love this hotel. It is full of nostalgia and it's so historic. It's beautiful. You can look in any direction and see actual history in front of your eyes. The lobby was filled with antique furniture and accents all around that remind you this building has been here for some time. The front desk staff were so helpful and polite. I wish I had time to tour this hotel, but I did not. I just know there are many interesting things to see here. The mail chute still works and the outdoor elevator is still attached. My stay at Graduate Providence was extremely disappointing and not at all worth the high price. The room was poorly designed and lacked basic functionality. There were no outlets in the bathroom, making it impossible to blow dry your hair in front of a mirror, and almost no accessible outlets in the room itself--I had to unplug lamps or the TV just to use my computer at the desk. The bathroom was also uncomfortably small and felt cramped. Service only made things worse. When I asked for glasses, I was told they couldn't provide any--despite the hotel having an attached restaurant. On departure, I was stuck in the parking garage because my barcode wouldn't scan. I called for help, was left on hold, and then completely forgotten. For the price, this experience was unacceptable. I would strongly discourage others from staying here read more

Old hotel, beautiful architecture and cool decor but could use some TLC. Our room needed a deep clean although bedding was fresh. Bathroom was tiny and toilet seat was broken. Was only there for 2 nights so was able to deal with it. Location was not ideal for night time strolling. Park across the street was a gathering spot for homeless and seedy activity. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. I hope Hilton takes the time to bring this hotel to its former glory. read more

The Graduate is a lovely hotel. We had a few issues. The first being we were offered an upgrade. The room was cute, and spacious! Downfall was there was no refrigerator. Apparently it broke down and they didn't have a replacement. The outlet in the bathroom was behind the toilet. We had to take the top of the toilet off to plug anything in. Lastly, our room was very warm. They can either run the heat or the air conditioner. They had the heat on. We ended up opening the window but couldn't leave it open due to the outside noise. It really is a lovely hotel. I loved the decor. It had a lot of charm. We frequented the coffee shop, which also was a cute space. read more

This Graduate Hotels are now a part of the Hilton Hotel Conglomerate. We are in Providence, RI for a wedding and this is the hotel we decided to call "home" for 5 days. It is an old building but it is well maintained and after 2 nights I am loving it more. The furniture may be retro, however, it enhances the beauty and charm of the hotel. Very friendly staff, beautiful woodwork on the main lobby and the mezzanine. Very comfortable bed and pillows. In our room the closet is small as is the bathroom. There is a coffee bar and a sports bar on the premises. Coffee bar has light breakfast items and the sportsbar opens in the late afternoon. Personally, I love the hotel, but honestly it is not enough for me to award it 5 stars. read more

Today I took a tour of the Graduate and it was a nice one...the carpeting and all the walls and rooms have been updated and renovated since the pandemic. All rooms have king size beds. The junior suites have a nice seating area and a separate living room and bedroom spaces. The conference rooms are bright and cheerful. There's no pool, but the fitness center is ample and well equipped. There's a terrace where guests can enjoy the open air. A great place to stay, have a meeting or a special event. read more

I ring the doorbell for entry and the lady on the desk doesn't look up. I ring it again , nothing . Then a rando walks up and uses his card. I tail him in. The lady at the desk has ear buds in. She is unpleasant and grumpy. No hello etc I asked if there was a bar and she said "no". There is a bar. Not sure why she said there wasn't. Also, no matter how much you spend here or how many times you stay there they will never grant a late check out so get yer shit together for the 11 am boot. stayed here many times never gotten a noon check out. the hotel is totally empty...what gives also be prepared to pay 36$ a night for parking with a weird archaic system with a voucher at the garage next door of the same name..no affiliation :) place is ok ..night desk not so much read more

It's incredibly difficult to recommend the Graduate to anyone other than needing a cheap room downtown. The prices comparatively are very good but the hotel is old and without most amenities. If you want breakfast, you're out of luck. There's a coffee shop, hope you want a muffin. The only restaurant in the hotel opens at noon. Parking is inconvenient. There's no valet. For $34 dollars a night, you have to drive around the block to a parking garage scan yourself in, and then every time you need to come or go, you have to walk to the garage, go up elevators and scan in and out. $34 should pay for a better system. Lastly, and most importantly, it's LOUD. The streets surrounding the hotel are so loud at night. Music blasting, people yelling, homeless fights. It's honestly, a terrible experience. Highly recommend staying somewhere else. read more

EXPERIENCE: I was fortunate to get a College Hill facing suite at a typical rate per night. The room was beautifully designed, with a dining/living room area that has a comfortable upholstered chair with wide desk, a shell ceiling sconce, and a papered wall depicting Rhode Island- oriented books. Like all Graduate Hotels, references to the community were embedded throughout the building and are fun for guests to discover and make sense of. For example, Rhode Island has some famous donut shops, so I found donuts in the hall carpet design and print in the suite's bathroom. This is a clever way to make each hotel location unique, as well as educate visitors about the history of the area. SERVICE: The hotel reception folks were very accommodating and helpful, offering local street parking/ticketing info to my husband. TIPS: Request College Hill facing view to fully enjoy local landscape. This location's restaurant options are not as expansive as other Graduate Hotels, likely due to proximity of excellent restaurants... many on charming Weybosset Street just a few blocks away. A small grocery store named Rory's is just around the corner -- best option for breakfast to go, or inside (storefront window counter seating). Sandwiches and an assortment of uncommon chilled beverages and bagged snacks can make this a fun destination. read more

This is a hotel that masquerades as an upscale property, but in reality it provides motel 6 level amenities and service. Lows were in the 40's when we stayed there but no heat was available. Room temp never got out of the 60's. Front desk stated it's a "two pipe" system so no heat would be available. Said there was a space heater in the room. There was none, but there was a fan. Ask yourself why a hotel would need a space heater and a fan in the room. It took multiple requests to get a heater which notched up the temp by about 2 degrees. I requested blankets which were not delivered to the room. I was told I would have to come to front desk to get them. The front desk gave two mismatched towels that were barely folded and when "unfolded" had stains and hair on them. Front desk basically shrugs their shoulders and says sorry. There were insects in the room and it was not well maintained- peeling wallpaper and scuff marks. This was Brown commencement weekend, so prices were extremely high. Definitely was not worth the price. If you have a choice, don't stay here. read more

I stayed in this hotel in 1996 as part of an industry group. The food and the hotel were so great, I wanted to bring my wife out in 2024. How the mighty have fallen. The Graduate is the former Providence Biltmore, which is and was a wonderful hotel. The leadership of the Graduate needs to step up their game. Specific problems: 1. There was no soap in the room. We had to call down 3 times, and finally we got two small bars of soap. The next day, housekeeping came and added soap to the wall mounted dispenser in the shower, but left their container and some cleaning junk in the room. WTH? 2. The carpet in the room near the AC unit was wet. Not damp, SOAKED. We brought it to the staff's attention, and went to breakfast. By the time we got back to the room, Engineering was there and they cleared the AC unit drain, and sucked up the water that had overflowed. But the carpet - still soaked. 3. The room smelled musty. This probably isn't the first time this AC unit has put water on the floor. 4. There is little space in the bathroom, so they have the extra roll of toilet paper hanging in a bag on the back of the door. The bag was empty. We didn't run out, but this is not good attention to detail. What was good: The staff was polite and helpful. Good security was there to keep the lobby in good graces. The 4 main elevators worked. The air conditioning worked. The view from our room was good. WiFi worked. They still kept the plaque which shows the flood level in the lobby from a hurricane in the earth 19th century. Would I stay here again? Probably, but I'd inspect the room and reject it if I found this much trouble. We missed the wet floor because we had shoes on - it became apparent when we soaked our socks to get to bed. So much potential. Management needs to step up and take steps to improve this. read more

"Will you unzip my suitcase?" comes to mind as I think about my time at The Graduate hotel in Providence. Mr. Robinson won't be coming back for hours either, so feel free to use the bar on the 1st floor for your entertainment needs (the bar has 2 virtual golf/soccer/baseball bays) or the large suites for entertaining 1 or more guests! This hotel is a nice boutique hotel in Downtown which was recommended by a co-worker when staying here. The lobby is gorgeous and check-in was pretty easy and the staff was super friendly. I ended up with a room upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite which was nicely decorated and had a comfortable bed with AWESOME PILLOWS! Other hotels need to get a clue with pillows! There was security at the front door during the evening which was nice as the area seemed a bit sketchy. There were police lights and sirens and that buzz buzz cop car noise at various hours of the night. Maybe Mrs. Robinson was out looking to make a little extra cash? Did I mention Ceiling Fans above the bed? I usually prefer mirrors, strobes and spotlights, but the fan made it comfy for sleep. I'd imagine in the summer these come in handy. Depending on where I was going in Providence, I may stay here again. I'm a points snob so I'd rather stay at an IHG or Marriott property and earn points, but the rate for this place was pretty good for what you got! read more

I attended a professional learning workshop here hosted by the EdTech company Renaissance. I came early to have a virtual work meeting - the cafe off the lobby was very warm, had lots of comfortable seating, and plenty of outlets. I headed upstairs to the ballroom on the second floor. I got a chance to enjoy the wonderful artwork as I waited to get checked in. The ballroom was large but drafty! Many participants draped their coats over their shoulders to keep warm. The hotel served a since continental breakfast with fresh muffins sweet loaves, and fruit! My colleague enjoyed the gluten free muffins. For lunch, they served salad, various paninis (chicken, Italian, and veggie), a soup, chips, and various bars for dessert. I loved the raspberry bar I tried! The hospitality staff were kind. This seems like a good place to host a workshop or seminar - just be mindful about the drafty ballroom and the fact that street parking can be tight so encourage participants to park in a garage. I paid $15 for the day at the Biltmore garage. read more

We love this hotel! We held our wedding reception here and had a room block and could not be happier. The wedding suite was massive and with two bathrooms! It also had plenty of space for hair and makeup to set up. All of our guests loved the size of their rooms and how each room is so unique. All rooms have comfy king size beds too! This is an older hotel so control of ac/heat is not the best but for an April stay it was perfect. This hotel has so many little details all around, be sure to take it all in and check out all the spaces - Boardrooms, terrace, summit rooms, ballroom. We are obsessed with our wedding pictures and cannot believe all the shots are just from this one hotel. 10/10 recommend! read more

On a visit to Providence, I was able to grab a room for three nights at the Graduate for a great price! Love the location and architecture of the building. Located downtown, central to everything, the Graduate was previous a Biltmore Hotel which means it probably has a long and storied history. The lobby is old school, full of polished woods and had an old brass elevator leading to a second floor landing. Up there, you'll find the conference rooms and event space, it's all quite majestic and art deco retro. My room was quite nice and spacious. Funky prints, memorabilia that was RI specific and full of color. While the bathroom was old-school and small, the rest of the room and sitting room were super mod and funky. With a room that overlooked the downtown square, it felt like a unique experience to me. For the price, if you're visiting Providence, I don't think you can find a better spot while visiting. The Graduate exudes history, glam, and funky opulence. Really enjoyed my stay here and hopefully, you will too! read more

Really unfortunate experience this weekend with a reservation we booked months in advance. We arrived ~2 hours prior to check in and were advised that the only room available in the hotel was the one located directly across from the elevators, which was both loud and smaller than past rooms we've booked. I remain unclear how we were predestined for this room. We wound up never entering the room in hopes we could move later. We checked again about a room switch ~7pm, waiting in line with several other guests who were clearly just arriving, and were again advised that somehow every other guest had been preassigned to a specific room and there was no possible way we could move or even upgrade. Certainly a unique reservation system, at least in all my years of traveling, and I could've done with less attitude from the front desk. Reallllly unimpressed. read more

Made a reservation for a room at the graduate hotel in PVD, told reservation agent I had a gift certificate and was informed to present the certificate to front desk upon arrival and they would deduct the amount from our room charge (150.00) Upon arrival I was informed that they do not honor the graduate gift certificates at the PVD location! If that was not bad enough I was charged 34.00 for parking and was given a scan code to open gate at hotel garage. Upon departure gate would not open with scan code , so my wife inserted her card to pay for parking. When I contacted the hotel , I was told to show proof of double pay( which I did email to hotel directly, two weeks later still not reimbursed for 34.00 charge. I also contacted the hotel regarding the gift card and my dissatisfaction with the hotel not accepting my gift card, I was informed that my gift card had already been redeemed ! This was bull, as I had checked the balance prior to booking on their website and still had 150.00 on the card!! Never, ever will I stay at a Hilton, nor recommend anyone to stay there, horrible customer service , I actually. Forwarded my original purchase receipt , and had no one respond to my inquiry ! This was a little get away for my wife birthday, it turned into a nightmare, so much for the Hilton rewards program. Their customer service is a joke! read more

Maybe I really should have read the reviews before booking here because it was honestly the worst hotel experience I've had in a long time especially for paying like $300 a night. 1. Don't let the aesthetic fool you, although this hotel may look nice it smells like a 100 year old musty carpet. The hotel reeks of cigarettes and must. It was honestly uncomfortable. 2. We stayed for 3 nights and housekeeping only "cleaned" our room once. The towels were not replaced despite us leaving our used ones on the floor. We were also out of toilet paper and they did not leave more. So we didn't have towels or toilet paper upon returning from our long day. 3. The one time they did clean, housekeeping was nonstop knocking on our door at 8am on a Saturday...who does that?? And they wouldn't stop until I got out of bed and told them we are still on the room. 4. The room was cold so we adjusted the temperature to our liking on the first day. But every time we came back to the room the thermostat was changed?? I understand maybe the one time the housekeeper came in and changed it. But did someone just come into our room daily and just change the thermostat?? Kind of freaky. 5. The safety latch on our door was broken and also the actual lock on the handle, so no way to ensure privacy when you're in the room really. A staff member told us the hotel is run by local college kids studying hospitality - it shows. read more

They have no pool. Love the room keys, everything is university themed really nice. All the staff is amazing!!! The entire hotel has mirrors everywhere which I love. They have a cute outside area off the 3rd floor. The restrooms are closed after certain time so you have to go to your room if you're still hanging around the hotel. The bar is nice, great food and drinks. Pool table rental is pretty pricey though. read more

I would never recommend anyone to stay at this hotel and I will be further action to rectify the wrongdoing on your hotel behalf. I will be posting public reviews and including pictures and videos of the multiple issues that seemingly happened one after another after another, which front desk staff didn't bat an eye at, telling that issues arise often and that your staff is aware and careless. I drove 4 hours to get to Providence to stay at your hotel and I left with more grief and stress than had I spent the weekend at work. I'm speechless. To say I'm disappointed is the understatement of the century. I'm beside myself. DO NOT STAY HERE. Pictures and videos to come. Broken shower (confirmed by engineering) Broken thermostats (confirmed by engineering) Had to sleep with window open like I was in a third world country (paid for a king suite) Vandalized / smashed car window in the garage the hotel gives a pass to park in and advertises with a large sign outside their entry. They took no responsibility, didn't show any remorse, and wouldn't even lend me a hand getting the glass out and off of the seat for my passenger to sit in for the 4 hour drive home. We spent the night and enjoyed the room so much we stayed an extra night. I like the desk in the room. The only thing I would ask the management about is the creepy guy at the door both nights in a full head mask. It was cold, but not that cold. And he was inside. Weird. And he stared. Never saw a hotel that provides a box fan with each room, must be cheaper that fixing the HVAC system No microwave No bath tub No comforter on the bed Wall paper looks like it was hung by a 3 year old No ice machines Towels had a funky smell Shower curtain too short, dripping water all over bathroom floor Bed was comfortable Hotel might have been ok at 1/3 the price. For what we paid, there should have been better amenities, rooms should have been a lot nicer, more attentive staff and a functional heating and cooling system .. read more

Walking in, this place is super cute and charming. Unfortunately the charm ends there however. Bathrooms are very small, the room smelled like a combo of mildew and pee and there was no heat in the building in October. It has potential, but needs some maintenance. read more

Staff was very friendly and helpful. They let us store our luggage prior to checking in that night. The room and appearance of the hotel is beautiful and nicely decorated. However, our room had some issues with the heat that made the carpet totally wet in the bedroom area. The bathrooms also do not have fans/ventilation and the ceiling was dripping after taking a hot shower. read more

My husband and I had our wedding at The Biltmore (along with a block of rooms and we stayed their our wedding night) and wow what a fall from Grace. No valet. You pay $35 to self-park and walk across a seedy alley to get to the hotel. Only three luggage carts for the whole hotel (which proved fruitless during check-in). No bell hop. The building is old, but that I don't mind so much. It's historic. However, the decor was horrendous. The Graduate has a "college party" theme that I personally find tacky rather than classic. The hallway carpet has strawberry donuts on it. Again, not the regal aire it once had. Even the in-room accommodations were rough. No smart-TV capabilities so we channel surfed. The only outlet in the bathroom was partially covered by the toilet so I had to remove the top of the toilet tank to use my hair dryer. The shower door also blocked the shower controls so you had to crane your arm and get wet in order to turn the shower on. The provided shampoo/conditioner/body wash were scented peppermint, cilantro and rum. Not only did they not mesh well but it was downright nauseating. Where's your standard coconut lime verbana? We survived. It was fine. The hotel Is unique. However, to pay what we did for a boutique downtown experience, a valet would have been nice. read more
