It's not immediately clear where to go and what to do but they have plenty of staff to direct you. They asked me to empty my different types of bottles (clear glass, colorful glass, plastic) into three large cylindrical barrels before they weighed them. I can see what other reviewers are saying about how they don't fully put the container on the scale to ascertain the full weight of the bottles. They hand you a receipt after weighing and you take it to the window to cash out. They ask you to sign the receipt before giving you the money. All in all, it's an easy process and I'm not sure it's worth the trouble because I don't have that much to recycle at a time but it might make sense for the people sorting pickup trucks' worth of recycling. Pro tip: Sort your recycling in advance so when you get to the recycle center, you just have to dump it into one of the barrels and not sort it on site.

I volunteered to redeem the munched plastic bottles, rattling cans, and occasional bottle we found while tidying up the neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised. Glendale Recycling Center is efficiently run and the service is great. The staff helps move the lines along and everyone is very nice and hardworking. And if I read the prices correctly, GRC pays a few cents more for plastics + cans than those SuperA grocery store guys in a delivery truck. I know this because I left the SuperA guy in Cypress Park when he decided to take his lunch 15 mins. early and close up shop. Glad I looked to YELP and found this place in a snap without wasting time. Also, this place is almost like an all-in-one recycling center where you can not only get CRV money, but also drop off old electronics, all those Amazon cardboard boxes, and some other things that you can't throw into your regular trash bin. (Some items they don't accept, but they'll direct you to where you can take them.) Since this was a pleasant & relatively painless experience, I just might make a daily habit out our Earth Day practice and return every now and then.

Today, he was trying to take another customer before me even though I was in line ready to be processed and even when that customer acknowledged to him that he was ok to wait for his turn, he insisted to take him instead. Finally, when he saw that I confronted him and the next in line client insisted, he took my batch. It's sad that he thinks he can treat clients in the fashion. I've always been very courteous and respectful to him but it looks like he has his own preferences and treats clients as he feels like. I'm done going there ever again.

Technician quickly removed drives and after paying nominal fee, walked me over the the machine to watch the drives get demolished. They took the machines for recycling or waste. Updated-called the number on the sign 800-773-2489 and they say this site has been permanently closed for several years now. Closest place per the 311 city operator is a SAFE Center on 2649 E Washington Blvd in E Los Angeles. Not sure why there continues to be a "Temporarily Closed" sign when 311 says permanently closed.

A few months ago they had thrown an aluminum sheet that was next to the trash bin and scratched my van as well. I have emailed them, and have not gotten any response from them.
