On the mile drive on the bumpy dirt road with multiple routes, there were no traffic directors to be seen and only relied on the semi truck in front of me. I arrived in an area where the commercial vehicles were and I had no idea where to go. I got out and was getting ready to dump my machine when a garbage disposal worker asked me what I was doing and was kind, respectful, and helpful. He guided me to the right place and told me where I was at was a major safety hazard for myself. On my way to the designated drop off area, I finally saw a traffic director, and he was polite and confirmed where the designated drop off area was. I almost got lost on my way out, but I figured it out. There seriously needs to be more traffic directors at the designated checkpoint towers to avoid confusion and to maintain the safety of everybody. I'm disappointed.

Unfortunately, today was another example of their poor service and complete lack of customer care. This morning, I was outside speaking with a neighbor when a moving truck briefly passed in front of my home. Instead of waiting literally five seconds, the Waste Management driver skipped my trash bin entirely--despite it being completely full and clearly accessible moments later. I immediately called Waste Management and spoke with a representative named Cheryl (spelled S-H-E-R-R-E-L-L). She informed me that they would charge me $15 to come back and collect my trash, stating that it was "not their fault." I explained that all the driver had to do was wait a few seconds and the bin would have been collected without any issue. Her response was that their drivers "don't wait" and that it was my fault due to a moving company briefly being in the way. What was most disappointing was the lack of empathy or accountability. Cheryl made me feel like a completely unimportant customer and showed no interest in resolving the situation fairly. The attitude was dismissive, unapologetic, and indifferent. Waste Management operates like a monopoly, and it shows. If there were real competition in this space, I would switch services immediately. Between the billing problems, missed pickups, and poor customer service, this company consistently falls short. I would not recommend Waste Management to anyone who expects professionalism, reasonable service, or basic customer respect.

At Santa Paula Recycling, I've found them to be well organized usually friendly. They are often quite helpful by providing me with assistance unloading my car and placing the bottles and cans into their wire receptacles for weighing. The place is on a large dirt lot and there is plenty of space for cars, but there is no traditional parking lot.
