My daughter took the babysitting class today at the downtown Manhattan location. Man, she can't stop raving about the class. She's pretty young, so it's the first time she's ever taken a one-day course of any kind. It's a pretty long day, 9am - 4pm, and yet, she says it went by quickly. At about noon, the instructors took the kids to a pizza place just down the block. I spoke with a few of the workers from Aquatic Solutions, and they're really good, well-meaning employees. I wasn't sure what to expect from a babysitting class, but my daughter is even more enthused than she was before it, so I'm happy. Money very well spent. Now if she'd only stop blabbing about all of these babysitting techniques and stuff, maybe I could get some work done! read more

I don't like using yelp but feel at a loss for next steps and am very frustrated. I have taken courses with them before and did not have this issue. I have been trying to schedule a WSI Prep-Course with the NYC location for a month with numerous emails and phone calls. The correspondence via email has been brief and gives insufficient information. After repeated back and forth I was scheduled for the Prep-Course but it was cancelled the day before due to pool maintenance (which I assume was a last minute situation out of their control and understandable). When I was finally able to reschedule I was offered today, I accepted but didn't get any details regarding where to go or what to bring or confirmation that they received my acceptance. The morning of the class I got an email 4 hours before asking if I could do a different day without any details as to why. I responded when I woke up 1 hour later explaining my WSI course started in 1 week and RE-stated that weekdays don't work because of my job (which I had already told them multiple times.). I tried calling to confirm that I could still attend because my commute to the pool was over an hour. I got no response via email or phone so I decided to go to the pool because I needed an answer and my employer paid for this course and I don't want to fail due to not being prepared. In route I called and spoke to a man from another location who said no one else was registered for the course, he apologized for the fact that I received a confusing email the day of my course but wasn't able to confirm one way or another because he isn't at the NYC location but that he would try and get ahold of their manager and get back to me. I arrived at the pool before getting a call back. No supervisor was there, an instructor teaching a different course suggested I call and email but that he couldn't help because he doesn't do the course I need and had his own course at this time. Bottom line - the communication and customer service needs to improve. It has been incredibly frustrating and I am at a loss for next steps. read more

I took a CPR class here today. Jeremy was great. He knows his stuff and explains everything clearly. I've been taking CPR for a dozen years, and this was one of the most practical, realistic classes I've taken. When you walk by outside, it just looks like an apartment complex, not a business. I thought I was surely in the wrong place. But once you enter the courtyard, there's an entrance to building with an indoor swimming pool. I did the CPR/AED adult and pediatric first aid class with Juan. He was wonderful! He was incredibly knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and made the 4.5 hour training go by quickly. His overall personality/energy was fun, yet professional. It was the ideal atmosphere for learning. I came out here from Brooklyn, and I would definitely do it again. Just make sure you pick the right date/time. They do allow date/time changes, but it comes at a steep cost, a $30 transfer fee. Overall a great experience! read more

I signed up for the class and made a mistake about the dates. I thought it was for 9/8 but actually it was 9/6. I contacted Aquatic Solutions to ask to attend another session and was told they charge $30 change fee. The whole course was only $68 and this charge amount is not reasonable. I don't see me attending another session will really cost them anything. They also never told me when I sign up about this fee policy. If they have done so I would not sign up with them. Do not recommend this if you ever have the possibility of having to reschedule a class. This is not good customer service. I will never come back to them or recommend my friend to them. read more

Having been a bystander in a few emergency situations, I wanted to be educated and certified. I took the Red Cross blended adult and pediatric first-aid, CPR, and AED course with Jeremy. The online portion, which must be completed before the in-person class, consisted of 31 "missions" (took around 2.5 hours). The in-person course was approximately an hour long as I was the only person in the class. Jeremy was patient, encouraging, and extremely personable. The in-person course reviewed techniques from the online portion and had hands-on training with mannequins. I felt comfortable in asking many questions, and Jeremy was able to clarify points mentioned on the online course (ex: recover position, pressure applied to infants). I took the blended (on-line plus classroom) course with my 15 year old son. The on-site portion was very well done. Rosalia was relatable, interesting, well versed, efficient and fun. Everyone in the class seemed comfortable asking questions, practicing and eager to participate. And I am so happy I am certified in Adult & Pediatric CPR and First Aid. And less than a week later I helped a young man with his unresponsive brother who was locked in a bathroom. I did not need to administer CPR or First Aid but as soon as I informed the brother I was certified he was willing to use the help. I did the hybrid CPR/EAD with John and it was really great! It was my 4th time re-certifying and John made the process interesting, thorough and easy! I love that the Red Cross has the option to do half online at home and do the hands on training in person. You will spend about 1-1.5 hour on your computer and then about 1 hour in person. It's a great format for people who have done it a few times, or those who do not have too much free time. Working with Aquatic Solution was great and John is a superb instructor! read more

I took the CPR & First-Aid Adult/Pediatric course with Jeremy. I've taken this class multiple times so far, about five. If you've stumbled upon this review, look no further. This was the BEST CPR class I've ever taken. Their blended learning program really saves time and forces you to learn without too much boring repetition once you get to class. Jeremy explained the information in a concise and condensed manner. He was very informative and was able to answer all my questions on the side. I learned more in this CPR course than all my other previous CPR courses. The assistant he had (with glasses), was able to portray a choking victim and injured victim well, therefore, I felt a real sense of urgency that I was actually attending to someone's choking hazards and injuries. The dummies at Aquatic Solutions are also the most modern I've seen. In my previous classes, students were able to get away and pass with doing sub-par chest compressions for CPR. Their modern dummy forces the rescuer to give true compressions, similar to a real-life scenario. I believe this is very important, the difference between correct and incorrect compressions, could be life or death. Looking forward to re-certifying here in the future! read more

Worst experience ever. Do not put your child through this course. My son's back was injured twice during the training when he was "victim" and during test his instructor's phone died so he had to take the entire thing again. And the instructor took no responsibility for her phone dying during the timed test. Management takes no responsibility. This is a law suit waiting to happen. horrible. horrible experience. My husband came across Aquatic Solutions and I registered for the class. I'm so happy that I did because that class was amazing. Our instructor, Yuraisi was the best! I arrived late but she was kind enough to speak with her supervisor so I wouldn't have to reschedule and I really appreciated that. My son completed lifeguard certification with Aquatic Solutions. They offer a blended course option in which you take part of the course online and then the skills part in person. This was a good option during Covid times when you need to social distance. It also allowed for him to review the online materials at his own pace. The in person skills training was thorough and informative. If you did not understand something the instructors, who were all very patient, either explained it again or gave you the ability to redo a skills portion if necessary. Got my CPR/AED Adult and Pediatric Certification here. There were two students in the class (me and one other). The instructor was very clear and patient. The class was scheduled for 3.5 hours but we finished in 2 hours. Afterwards, the instructor was more than willing to continue practicing with me to make sure I could master the protocol even after the other guy left. It can be difficult to get to the location as you need to have someone with a key card open one of the gates for you to enter the residential area, but the area often has high traffic, so its not a problem during peak hours. read more

After procrastinating, I finally signed up to renew my BLS for Healthcare Providers this past week. We all know taking a mandatory course can feel endless and super boring. My instructor was Jeremy! Jeremy did a great job keeping everybody in the class engaged. His ability to deliver life-saving skills in a clear and practical way along with hands-on training makes me feel confident that individuals taking this course would actually know what to do in a given situation. Upon being asked about his own personal experience, he shared a story about the first time he performed CPR. He stresses the importance of not over thinking and keeping calm. I was looking for an online option for First Aid/CPR class, because it would just be a refresher for me. I looked on the American Red Cross website and came upon Aquatic Solutions's option of a blended course of half online and half in-person course. The online portion took the longest, probably a span of 2 days because I wasn't fully immersed or sitting at the desk for hours straight. The in-person portion took about 1.5 hrs (or 2, can't remember because I was so immersed in the training). I had a bit trouble finding the location, since I was not familiar with the neighborhood. But otherwise, the course was informative, and I'm glad I opted for a partial in-person option. The instructor who worked with us was named Yuraisi, and she really knew her stuff. She was funny and informative, and she would correct us when we weren't doing it right. I do have to say, I actually had fun for once. (Usually these courses are pretty dreadful because they're so tedious and awkward.) I would definitely recommend this course to my colleagues and anyone who would listen to me. read more
