A sad little place trying to be hip, but tragically falling far short. Inflatable figurines hanging from the ceiling contribute to the "close but no cigar" feeling. Service was quick, if not particularly friendly. Food was fresh and tasty enough, but nothing special. Don't want to diss our senior citizens, but there were lots of gray hairs at the bar, talking too loudly about things nobody else wants to hear about. Nice view of the Caribbean, especially if you can sit on the lanai. Don't expect too much, and you'll probably be all right. read more

Breezed has not disappointed in my last three visits. This week we took the in-laws and they thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed the Chicken Parm special, and the meat lovers stuffed mushrooms were quite delicious. Service was timely, responsive, attentive yet not overbearing, to the point of earning a 15-18% gratuity. UNFORTUNATELY, the restaurant attaches a 20% tip and records it in the "tip/tax" row on the bill, and our server did not remind us of this "oddity". Be sure to thank your waitstaff personally if you receive great service, and don't hesitate to let the owners know what you think about the forced tip! read more

Staying at the hotel on the property and website and paperwork we received said they were open for breakfast. Even the pictures showed breakfast. My wife and I had not shopped for coffee or breakfast since it was available on site and we allowed just enough time to grabs a bite there before a really busy day. First place I ate at on the island. Helps that it's on the same property as our condo :) Mo made me a yummy pain killer and I ordered the calamari. It was all good. The have good prices for happy hour; however, the beers are 6 bucks for a carib? Really? Anyway, stick with the drinks. Since we were there for over two weeks, we ate here a lot and tried dinner, lunch and their Sunday brunch. Brunch: Lobster bennie for me! It was good; but the peppers overpowered the subtle lobster flavor. I didn't order it again. We went a second time and I got what my BF got the first time, the cajun bennie with sausage. That could have used the peppers :) The Big basic breakfast was good looking and filling. Hamburgers and fries were good. The crab stuffed mushrooms are to die for - yum! Of course at some point I had the lobster. It's only $30 for 1 lb. I thought it was a good deal comparatively and it was cooked properly. We're staying on the island for 5 days at Club St. Croix, so walked over to Breezez for dinner our first night. Bartender (Lexi) was really friendly and gave us some info and recommendations for the island. Happy hour deals were great, and our dinners were yummy! I had the Cajun grilled chicken, and my husband had the garlic grilled salmon. Will be visiting Breezez a couple more times while we're here for sure! read more

Our experience with Breezez in Christiansted St. Croix was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. My expectations are quite basic and I rarely write a review unless I am thrilled or completely dissatisfied, SO Let me tell you all about Breezez in Christiansted. It was Mother's Day and the restaurant was crowded. Not a big deal, as we were in no hurry. We were seated quickly. We realized things may be delayed. However I have never witnessed this degree of disorganization or disinterest in a restaurant. Truly. We were provided with a single menu and were promised a second menu. We were 6 feet from the bar and I saw a pile of menus sitting there.. I had to ask again after waiting another 15 minutes, watching the staff member who promised me a menu walk by several times. Strange I thought, but summed it up to the fact that the restaurant was busy and apparently the staff had very limited attention to details like menus and things... after observing what was happening and noticing a lot of very unhappy looking patrons without food, I deduced that the restaurant probably is not organized in sections when it comes to servers/waitstaff. Apparently no one knew who had placed an order, who was waiting to order or apparently no one was too invested in these concepts. Strange. We were assured that our waiter would be 'assigned' a few times by random staff and someone did finally approach us eventually to take our order. She advised us that we should order everything at once that we wanted (appetizers, entrees and dessert) but then walked away before taking our order. Ok.....Strange we thought and shrugged it off. We waited a while longer and someone finally came to take our order, and this time she actually did take our order before walking away. We mentioned that we wanted to order an appetizer, we were told that it would be at least 60 minutes and were informed that it was not possible to get the appetizer before our meal and it would all come together. Ok , no biggie, the restaurant was crowded. We were prepared to wait, sit and talk and soak up the experience; and that we did. It took a while, but we received two cokes- simple enough- luckily we were close to the bar. Our server informed us that she had been working since 8am and by this time, it was pretty close to 8pm. We were unsure why this needed to be said, so I tried to sympathize with her. More waiting. I noticed a couple behind us had received their check and paid by credit card. Then I noticed some commotion- they didn't receive their credit card back! They asked about it. I watched the events unfold and it was truly unbelievable. Of course these people were upset- and rightfully so- but they were pretty quiet about it- much more than I would have been under the circumstances-and obviously disappointed and in complete disbelief, as were we. I saw staff scrambling around- then finally the explanation "someone must have walked off with it." Wtf? Seriously? These people paid their bill, the server walks six feet to the bar to have it processed- there's a huge delay and the result is the credit card is GONE and the staff shrug it off that "someone must have walked off with it." Wtf!!!!!? No staff responsibility. I didn't even notice an apology. I continually overheard from staff- "someone walked off with it I can't help it" Ho-lee-crap. Note to self: pay with cash, and luckily we had cash. Ok back to OUR adventure. Waiting... I'm thinking- sip that coke, you'll probably never get another one. Finally after being there for Over an hour, someone from behind the bar came out and asked us what we ordered- we told him, somehow a few minutes later, he brought our appetizer. Great, now at least we have something to focus on other than the seemingly odd disinterest of the wait staff and a diversion from thinking about the staff losing a customer's credit card. Waiting... Our server finally served our entrees- and they were thrown on our table. Literally. Odd. Drinks GONE after waiting for 90 minutes in the heat... asked for refills since the staff seemed oblivious to such things like menus, drinks, etc. We began eating- slowly- and watched her pass by five times. Once, I think she mumbled 'how's the food' but as she walked behind us, no eye contact. I was not sure she was talking to us. So we ate our entire entrees- without drinks. THEN of course after we had finished eating- drink refills arrive. Seriously. By this time, I had enough. I asked for our bill. We had ordered dessert but didn't want to wait another hour so asked to have it removed from our bill. The dessert was crossed off our bill-but not deducted. Ah yes, that old trick. We were told "I was going to give you that for free." Did I believe that? Absolutely not. We also noticed that a 15% gratuity was conveniently added. Two cokes, one appetizer, two entrees, +15% automatic gratuity= $93.00, terrible service= Very disappointing. read more

Two for dinner. The lobster had a good taste, but was a bit overcooked. The other dinner, snapper, came out rather cool and had to be sent back, (Once returned it WAS fine.) The blue cheese dressing tasted like mayo with blobs of blue cheese -- pretty mediocre at best. Now, the "wine story": Seeing no bottles of wine on the menu we asked if they were available. We were told that bottles are available at 4X the glass price. (Based on a sample of a few hundred we know that there are 4 glasses/bottle and there is generally a slight advantage to ordering a bottle. Regardless, we did. A zin was ordered and the server brought out a white. No problem. She returned with the correct zin but it was really cold. We sent her back and she brought out the correct one -- and it was fine. Later she told us that the price of a bottle is 5X the glass price! Hmmm. We asked her to confirm that and told us she checked and learned that the establishment normally gets -- check this out --- about 5 and 1/2 glasses per bottle! Wow -- talk about a "short glass!" There were no craft-brewed beers on the menu -- just the usual, mass-produced stuff. (I wonder if they only serve 10 oz bottles ...) A rating of three is probably a bit generous: Quantity of food: 3.5 Quality of food: 3 Atmosphere: 3.5-4 Service: 2.5-3 (very nice person but not well trained; what is management's role?) Fantastic food and even better service. We stopped into this restaurant on our way to our vacation rental, and we were so happy we did. We sat at the bar with Shiraz (spelt it weong). She was so nice. We ordered appetizers and dinner, and was blown away at the curry. Omg the coconut curry mussels app and the plantains fish curry was so good I couldn't stop eating and they brought me more red curry sauce for the fish, after my own heart you are. They lost me as a regular customer a few weeks back. After sitting down at the bar to order takeout, the bartender insisted that I leave the restaurant (or hide in the men's room) to finish the beverage I carried in from my room. I explained that I was going to order 2 dinners and have drinks while I waited, but that was not going to work for them - it's their policy. Needless to say, I went for takeout elsewhere. The finest restaurants in St. Croix generally offer a coaster in the same situation. Serious disappointment. For lobster, try Angry Nate's - you get the whole thing for the same price. read more

Food was great! Big portions and bold flavors! Jambalaya pasta was nice and spicy, garlic/herb lobster was cooked great and super flavorful, and shrimp Caesar salad was excellent! Hats off the the chef!!! Would have been a 5 star review if our server didn't try to double up on the tip and slipped in their own 20% gratuity under the tax line without letting us know (they kept the tip line present and empty without letting our party of 4 know they added gratuity on their own). If we hadn't noticed and asked we would have left a second 20% tip. If I could give it half a star or no star at all, I would. The bartender was ok, not great...first of all, it took us about ten mins to get our first drink. The app came out fast, (meat lovers stuffed mushrooms) which were great. Another ten to fifteen mins for our second drink. Entree was great, chicken Marsala with creamy potatoes and seasoned rice. My friend had jerk center cut pork chop which he said was great, but the jerk needed to be more jerk-y. Around this time, (7:30) we asked if they could change the tv to a football game, any football game...the bartender says that he is not allowed to change the channel and asks the "senior" waiter if he could change. And the waiter replies with, "I don't wanna make the call". Meaning make the call to the manager or owner of the bar. Which is kinda bullshit. It might not be a sports bar, but it's a bar, it has to be entertaining, not have CNN playing on one tv and a surveillance cam on the other. The football game was not on PayPerView so you don't have to buy it to watch it. If you already paid for cable, why not change the channel? Nothing against the people who work there, just the one who runs it...get your shit together. $105 plus tip for a pork chop, chicken Marsala and a couple of drinks...I'm not a manager/owner of a bar, but you would have more business if you gave the people what they wanted, just saying... read more

Visiting from Florida with family so we decided to have dinner at Breezez. We called and arrange for a party of 8. On arrival we were told that there was not a table available for 8 so we had to split group up into 4 at separate tables. On arrival of our waitress who introduce herself and ask for our drink but did not place a menu to either table. Drinks were place but still no menu we had to asked for a menu about 15 minutes after seated. We had to call her back to place our order after our drinks came but were still waiting for glasses of water and bread. The waitress was very unprofessional and very rude. After about 50 mins the waitress brought out two dishes in which one dish was incorrect. After the situation was addressed the waitress was defensive about the order and mentioned that what was ordered. Manager was called over but instead of helping the problem she escalated it. The manager was disrespectful, arrogant, stinks and obnoxious. She went into stating that she was rich, smart and that intelligent! Dumb Ass!!! Botton line is bad experience, worst restaurant, rude staffs and the manager is a filthy pig. NEVER EAT AT BREEZEZ!!!! read more

The place was completely empty. Our server was very nice, but didn't know the specials and had to go ask twice. We wanted lobster, but they were out. We settled on an appetizer and a salad, but she brought out my lunch order with it and my friends lunch order came much later. My chicken club was a bit over fried, but the French fries were really good. My friend's fish was fried just right. The soda was not carbonated very well. One thing to note, is that the restaurant puts a tip on your check. It's noted at the hostess station. The view is of the pool and the ocean. It was beautiful. While all the food and drinks my family and I had here were great, we unfortunately witnessed a lot of bad management and stressed out employees. We were having drinks at the bar on Mother's Day evening when the owner kept yelling at and insulting the waiters, waitresses, and the bartender right in front of the customers. The employees were understandably upset and stressed over this and this made our experience bad enough to walk out and not return. All of our waiters, waitresses, and bartenders (Mo, Jim, etc.) were fantastic and personable but the actions of the owner were inconsiderate and disrespectful. I do hope these employees receive better treatment in the future as this type of management is inexcusable. read more

Ask for Big D at the bar! All the staff is friendly and helpful BUT the biggest consistency seems to be the wait, wait, wait. Maybe this is a St. Croix Island time that they entire restaurant runs on. I loved the fried shrimp and dip it in their delicious hot sauce instead of the sauce on the plate. I can still taste it. The baked lobster was good but keep in mind it is more on the "dry" side because it is baked or grilled which takes out some of the moisture. It is more casual and very hot inside so dress accordingly. I also thought I saw only one chef in the kitchen so that might be the reason for the wait.... My husband had a steak one night and it was cooked nicely with good flavor. If your staying near that area it is one of your only options for food but has enough variety so you can enjoy your meal. Try to sit close to the pool - it is much cooler with a nice breeze from the ocean. read more

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. My family and I stopped by around 7pm on a Saturday evening, no one was in the restaurant but staff. We were told that they would have to move some tables together and could we please wait. A few minutes later, a woman nearly running out stating that they had a party of 10 coming in any minute and because we didn't have a reservation we would have to wait - maybe an hour or more, that they would not split the check and there would be an automatic 18% gratuity added. We never asked to split the check - we had just arrived! There were 7 of us, 18% was Ok with us, we usually leave 20%, the fact that we, as customers, were being dictated to was idiotic.
