My husband and I have been attending for two years and we can't imagine going any place else. The relationships, sound doctrine and spiritual support we've gotten from this church is amazing! Pastor Dom and Joyce Avello have been a God-send in our lives and are truly an example of what a godly couple should look like. Also, having Todd Ganovski lead worship has been incredible. The worship is an experience EVERY time.... authentic, real and motivating. A perfect example of the type of worship I would imagine in heaven and a great way to prepare the atmosphere for service. I've made some great friends here and hope to never lose touch with anyone.

I have been to many different churches, but I have never found one quite this special. The love of Christ is unmistakable here. They seem to believe that if God loves them, then he can love anyone! The teaching is the most faithful to the Bible that you will find in this area. I am thankful and blessed to apart of this body.

It's a very important decision where to take your family to fellowship and to invest in the community. I've been attending Church of the city in Springhill for the past five years approximately. Pastor Derek and the staff here truly care and treat everyone like family. Our missional, learning, youth, kids, and community groups and projects have all made a huge difference in people's lives. The vision of this church is outward focused and that's how it should be. There's always a sincere well thought out approach to why and how we can interact and share the love of Jesus with our community and with eachother. I'm on the virtual prayer team and I used to help with the youth as a girls leader (but my life schedule changed with a baby)-and from first hand experience, the staff and volunteers are truly committed to walking with people on their journeys, even the hard ones. Our pastor makes a point to always extend connecting and meeting people after service no matter how exhausted he might feel. Our community events are awesome, the people are too. I just love it! Come visit if you've never been...it could just be the home you never had.

It's hard for me to review a church as I am not a believer. I grew up Baptist and lost my faith…read morebecause i was taught that the Bible was literal and I eventually could not reconcile that. I also could not reconcile the racist nature of my elders with the teachings of Jesus. I go to this church with my daughter because I would do anything to spend time with her. I grew up in church and was in church if there was a door open. I lost my faith later and it isn't coming back, so this is more of a comparison to the church I grew up in and the loss of that community that came with the loss of my faith. I am not trying to convince you of my lack of faith and generally feel church is good for people. I will say that the primary reason I lost my faith is that I don't believe in things I can't touch. As best I can tell, a miracle is an unexpected outcome. A medical miracle means the doctor was wrong. **I am a doctor, we are wrong a lot and it's not a miracle. One of my greatest sadnesses in life is that I don't know how to give the sense of community to my daughter that I got in church. loved going to church when I was growing up because I felt a sense of belonging. I loved Sunday school and was very involved. I don't feel community. I have been going to this service for the last 6 months and I don't even know if they have Sunday school. Everyone seems friendly. Don't care much for pastor Darren, preaches intolerance with his acceptance.... I am sure that there is community in the small groups that they offer, but it's not like I will ever go.... I really just want community for my daughter. Was pretty disappointed in the Christmas service. Pastor Darren said he had the most convincing argument ever for the proof of Jesus. I guess I don't really expect anyone to bring me back into the fold, but I had hoped something more than "miracles are real, everyone else believes, so should you"

But once you've read the email (that allegedly started the downfall of this church) that the current leadership deliberately changed, to protect themselves and keep the money flowing.. you have to speak up. There is more going on behind the pulpit than you could ever imagine. What once was filled with the Holy Spirit is filled with deception to the congregation. Keep your eyes and heart open to what might truly be going on. Ask is this truly Christlike or is it a wolf in sheep's clothing. Is our current culture dictating the message or is the message changing the current culture. Time will truly tell. Continued prayers for humility and reconciliation which are powerful tools that God has graced all of us with.

The youth leaders have been so encouraging and mentored them. They have grown and are happy at Harpeth. My wife and I have loved the genuineness of the people who have welcomed us. We are a part of a small group that meets each week. They also have weekly Bible study classes that we have been able to join. The messages are always great on Sundays. They don't have any things they tell people not to do. But one thing I would ask them before you ever attended this church is what is your stance on homosexuality. If they call it a sin, then they don't understand science and they really don't even read Greek or Hebrew because they would read the so-called anti-gay passages differently if they read, especially Greek and understood the meaning of and in the ancient Greek world. Now, I' m talking about reading fluently, and not these fools who look up word studies using Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. and can't read. Just make sure the pastor has a Master of Divinity.
