When volunteering at "The Big Table" I overheard a couple on leadership say, "who is that" instead of introducing themselves and welcoming me. They help homeless people on a weekly basis but not someone who has been attending for months. Christ Jesus and the Scripture I read would not reject, betray, judge nor view disabled seniors as outcasts. Distant friends from another state are completely flabbergasted at the lack of assistance and acceptance Journey has provided to a child of God.

But the vision of the church became incredibly social justice minded. Many believe this is important in the role of the church. While I agree with this, I didn't feel the direction this church took was where I was meant to stay. Shortly thereafter we were called to move to a different state. Many people still there are my lifelong friends. You may find this place your home. But it's not the same place from the first review. But once you've read the email (that allegedly started the downfall of this church) that the current leadership deliberately changed, to protect themselves and keep the money flowing.. you have to speak up. There is more going on behind the pulpit than you could ever imagine. What once was filled with the Holy Spirit is filled with deception to the congregation. Keep your eyes and heart open to what might truly be going on. Ask is this truly Christlike or is it a wolf in sheep's clothing. Is our current culture dictating the message or is the message changing the current culture. Time will truly tell. Continued prayers for humility and reconciliation which are powerful tools that God has graced all of us with.

And the Bible says that the leader is always suppose to make himself available to the church body. And Pastor Darren Whitehead only makes himself available to people he favors or that are in leadership. Because I served there for over 10 years, and forced out by the police department for making a simple mistake of asking a federal Express driver to move the package container, on wheels to a different location, and a lady on the church staff named Bethany Moore literally yelled at me and told me to leave the church. And that I could no longer serve at the church any longer. And I served 52 Sunday's in a row in the year 2024 without missing 1 Sunday. And this is how I treat treated by the church, and pastor refuses to let me talk to him because I don't matter to him or anyone else. Just because that church looks great on the outside, does not mean it cares about or loves it people like they say they do. And just because it's located in Franklin, Tennessee, and it looks big on the outside, does not mean it is a caring church to it's people. And just because they are helping children find homes, does not mean that there hearts are loving and caring to the ENTIRE CHURCH BODY. I highly suggest that you really pray before you go to this church, and maybe one day some of you out there will understand where I am coming from in how I was treated there. Since the church will never admit to their mistakes, but God will hold the accountable on the day of judgement.

Time and again, we've encountered the presence of the Holy Spirit there, often leaving services feeling lighter than when we arrived. After hearing Pastor Grant share that small groups are the best way to truly experience community, we decided to take the leap last year--and it was life-changing. Our relationships deepened in such a meaningful way. I now have people I can call on for prayer and a safe community where I can share life's struggles and vulnerabilities.
