She told my friend to sign in and wait while they get set up. Another lady, who only spoke Spanish, told my friend to go in one of the little offices. In there, she asked my friend questions about his personal information. Then his old record from The Red Cross popped up showing that the last time he donated was almost 20 years ago. Wow! We did not know that OneBlood's systems are connected with Red Cross' database. After gathering and verifying his information, she told him to go to one of the beds at the back and help himself to juices and snacks. There, a young lady started setting up for the blood donation. Earlier, I had spoken to the first lady sharing my friend's last blood donation experience that the employee had done a horrible job. She assured us that the staff is professional and well experienced. However, when the young lady inserted the needle into my friend's arm, she had trouble and I saw his face in pain. I looked around to see if the first lady was around. Then the young lady called for her assistance. She came over, adjusted the needle/tubes and then we saw blood starting to flow. She got a blue Gatorade for my friend to drink since it's recommended to hydrate while donating blood. And then she proceeded with putting an ice pack behind my friend's upper back area to stay cool. Note: Ask for the first lady to get your blood donation done because she knew what she was doing. I never got her name but she was really nice and friendly, spoke really good English and Spanish. She gave us free shirts and offered us snacks afterwards. The Yelp page states By Appointments only, but that isn't necessary. We walked in and the staff was able to help us right away.

The effort that several of them have put in to make sure I am comfortable and that I fully understand results over the years has truly made scary experiences a lot less so!! Will you sometimes wait and have a little trouble getting an appointment? If it's not urgent, then yes. Because they are dealing with urgent situations, and they are busy because it's the best place in Miami you can go for what they do. But I promise you that if you are ever the unfortunately urgent situation, they will take great care of you. There is nowhere else I have ever been that will move heaven and earth to do follow up testing same day to minimize waiting/reduce extra anxiety. They are absolutely top notch and I will never go anywhere else.

I even offered to email my prescription, but they insisted it had to be faxed. In 2026, requiring a fax is outdated and unnecessarily inconvenient. My original doctor unfortunately passed away and I was forced to choose a new provider while hospitalized for a minor emergency. Dr Socrates Kakoulides has been my specialist for approximately 2 years now and I highly recommend him and his Team of PA's. He gives his patients plenty of time in office which sometimes causes him to get behind schedule but I can live with that.
