Opened both checking and savings accounts when promised a $300 bonus when specific deposit criteria were met. I knew my direct deposit would be slightly beyond the stated date requirement, but was assured by their representative, Beth, a full month prior to my first deposit that I would still qualify for the bonus funds. My bonus funds were denied two months later because I hadn't met the stated date requirement. The representative who opened our accounts gave us a phone number that doesn't work and the woman I spoke with today didn't seem to be aware of the program at all. Additionally, when we went to the drive through, no one would respond to the request for service. So, lack of available drive through service, poor employee training, deceptive practices. They decline my credit card at Wal-Mart and not a word about why, to let me know beforehand. Call up customer service and after 5 minutes of making me listen to robo telling me about everything -but-, I get to wait for a rep. Who turned out to be helpless and punted me to fraud dept. Robo there drags me through multiple verifications, gives me a "case number" or so it said, and won't help me until I read it back something from a text it never sent. I tried "0" to speak to a FvCKING HUMAN BEING, but no. Robo is all sorry and tells me to contact customer service. Nice endless loop there. Every time I try something new I get this over-the-top security clampdown. Every fvcking time. "For your safety" you don't get to do banking. Not until you do a couple of dances to their bvllshit tune. I was ready to pull my deposits, cut up the card (zero balance) since you fvckers won't let me use it or give me a straight answer, but the wife thinks you're just so great (for what reason? none in particular, just we've got too many bill-pays to re-set-up when we walk). Trish at the Credit Union in Indian Harbor Beach is simply EXCELLENT! I literally walked in & out in 5 mins .. It took less than one minute to cash in my CD & do another one! The other 4 mins was just chatting with friendly Trish! The hours of operation & the efficient friendly associates make me wish i'd found them sooner! I went across the street & of course my other " BIG" bank was CLOSED AT 4:00! Community Credit Union is much better overall & im thinking about switching EVERYTHING to them! The way they treat seniors could improve greatly. They did a Bill of Sale for an 87 year old an the lending agent filled the BILL-of Sale out for $3000 . Knowing the person borrowed over $14,000 to pay off the car he was buying, plus paid $7000 to the person he was buying car from. The seller told the lending agent that he was paid $7000 and the lending agent knew they were paying off loan for $14,000 plus . So Bill of sale should have said $21,000 at least. When person registered the vehicle with DMV HE WAS FINED OVER $3,500 for penalty for filing a fraudulent Bill of Sale. The lending agent then convinced the elderly man to borrow a total of $30,000 and added other fees that took loan up to over $33,000 and the. Added over $8 , 000 dollars in interest to the loan. Taking the total to over $41,000!! With a payment of over $575 a month. Then to make matters more embarrassing the lender put the borrower's $19,000 in extra money into the persons account that was selling the car to the borrower. The lender then called the seller and asked him to transfer the money to the borrowers account. WHAT TYPE BANKING IS THIS! .. When borrower and seller went into a branch and asked to speak to DAN KELLY they were not allowed and were told a manager would call them. Both borrower and seller are over 67 years old and both on fixed incomes. The borrower is 87. This is only one situation with treatment of elderly. Another was when a 73 year old wanted to borrow $4,000 from her credit card and the lady made her sign a letter she was not being exploited. The lady told the customer you're telling me a lie today , because yesterday you said you wanted it for something else. The lady had her assistant with her and the assistant was embarrassed for the lady because of the way the bank employee talked down to her and called her a lier. Just because we get old does not mean we all are senile or incompetent. Neither of these two situations would have happened with a person under the age of 65. As a graduate of the DEOMI and a retired soldier ( of which the 87 year old did 35 years service) it is embarrassing that we are treated like children. Then to ask for leadership and not be allowed that option to resolve the grievance. It may explain why this credit union gets two stars out of five stars on its service. I decided to try Community Credit Union because my mom has been a member for years. We went there together in August and initially I thought things were good. We were told that if I used my debit card 20 times within a month, both accounts would receive $100. I made sure I used my card over 20 times and boom---we should have received the money. Well we went to take care some other business this past week and I asked why we never received the $100. Representative said "oh you didn't sign up for e-statements", I replied--the initial person received my email information so why didn't he click the button for e-statements? Her reply was "I will have to ask him." I told her to forget it and take care of the current business. I should have known that the representative was not trustworthy, he told me to send him my current car payment information and he could possibly lower the interest rate. I sent him an email and never received a direct reply=poor customer service. I did receive email information from Community Credit Union about car interest rates which listed some as high as over 5%!! Lastly, if you open a new account, keep in mind you are not allowed to deposit via the ATM for 30 days, extremely inconvenient for working people! I visited the Rockledge Branch to make a deposit, I was the only person in line and 3 tellers said absolutely nothing until the manager passed by. Guess I should be happy he passed by since I would have continued to be ignored. Glad I have not transferred my retirement to this credit union. read more

I initially opened my business account with community credit Union in 2012. What started out as a wonderful relationship and all of my business needs has turned into a complete nightmare. This bank has treated me as if I'm not a member of their community! You can never speak to a manager directly when you called. All of their calls or processed through a call center which leave messages for callbacks. But you never get a callback. I've had to move my business to mobile services that are no longer located within the county. I've been locked out of my account since January no online access and when I call into the 800 number it doesn't even recognize any of my information. If an overdraft occurs in our taken care of immediately then how does a person become completely locked out of your account in definitely? This is the most absurd thing I've ever heard and when you ask questions the customer care person can't answer them for you and must re-directed the question to another person who will have to follow up with you on an answer?As of as of today I plan to close this account and never deal with this bank again. I am hearing a disturbing story of an elderly customer that was scammed and had suddenly changed her banking habits after being a customer for 30+ years. And the bank did nothing to stop it for over 9 months. Only after newlyall her life savings were gone did they notify authorities. Asking her a cursory question a couple times don't protect the elderly. Her answer didn't make much logical sense. And over $120,000 was taken from her before it was stopped. I know i get a call if i use my debit card in an unusual way once. I think this bank needs to step up and make things right in this case. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME BANKING AT CCU. Let this post do 20 years worth of research for you. I have been banking with CCU since the 1990's. I have had 4 loans with them and have never been late or missed a payment. Last year when I bought my new Ford, CCU interest rate was 2% higher than Ford Credit. I had to kick and scream and shout to get the attention of the branch manager. He finally called me and matched the rate. Now I have applied for a small boat loan (under $20k). I have been dealing with Lynette by email only because she refuses to answer calls or return them. I filled out application and asked her to provide me with the rate and term that ccu offered. She said that I would have to provide her with a buyers order first. I told her that we wanted to go down to Ft Lauderdale and sea trial and make offer / purchase all in one day. She said that is not the way that CCU works and she needed a buyers order before any decisions would be made. So we played by her rules and had to negotiate with dealer on a boat that we werent sure were going to buy yet because Lynette needed a buyers order to tell me what rate and term would be. We got Lynette the buyers order she asked for and she came back with a loan approval that asked me to double our down payment (we were already putting 15% down) and an interest rate at almost 12%. Now, mind you, CCU has 4 loans of perfect pay history with me and over 20 yrs of banking. Let this be a lesson for you. I asked for the branch manager to call me three days ago and have to hear from ANYONE, Including Lynette. AFTER ALL THIS HISTORY I GET TREATED NO DIFFERENTLY THAN A MAN WHO JUST WALKED IN OFF THE STREET AND OPENED AN ACCOUNT TODAY. -Do not make the same mistake I have! read more

I've been a member for a few years now and have experienced excellent service. Suddenly, however, without notice, their app that I need to use constantly was no longer available to my mobile phone. I've had to make numerous calls to find out that the app was updated and now useless to me. If I connected with the same person, she was helpful, but had to transfer me, promising I would get a call back each time. Two weeks have gone by and I've have not received a call. Perhaps my account is not large enough for anyone to care? The only way to access my account now is to wait to get home to log on. I have lost faith in this credit union. For many years they stole money from us by not applying extra payments (specifically written out) toward the principal balance. They would hold the money in the "Unapplied balance" then apply it later on. I wouldn't be surprised if they have scammed so many people in the community especially older clients. I and my wife were using all the services available in this credit union. The Customer service had nothing but insulting words when my wife checked on our balance when i was out of town. When I approached her after returning she wasn't any better talking to me. as the result we moved all our savings, checking and retirement accounts from this bank. The management never checked back on us despite the complaint we made on the employee. read more
