Since Covid that now is their excuse, employees working from home, limited hours, etc etc. My debit card expired because they did Not send one out. I had to drive 30 minutes to a branch, had to have an appointment. No other customer in the bank, when I arrived. Three (3) employees, teller, customer service and one other in office. Call the 800 number for service, wait 10 minutes or more because of "heavier" than normal call volumes. Makes me laugh. the real problem, NOT enough employees to replace no local service. I am now searching for a local bank or cc.

I had to explain my situation 3 separate times, and I had to provide my life story 3 times for them to verify my identity. At the end of an hour, the last rep I spoke to informed me there was nothing they could do and I must go sit at the branch for 2 hours waiting for them to do nothing there either. So, two phone calls, two visits to the branch...nothing has been corrected. Years ago this bank used to be good. My grandmother banked here, so I started banking here. They're nothing but thieves, they will take all your money out of your bank account. Calling them? Forget about it, you'll be on the phone for an hour before talking to someone. Going in? You'll sit there for an hour waiting for someone to help you. They're lack of employees speaks volumes about how poor their ethics are.

When I attempted to use my debit card to pay $7g for a…read moreroofer, I was shocked to be declined, as my checking and (linked) savings accounts are both with PNC and it is easy to see there are more than enough funds in either account to cover this. However, when I went into the bank and they refused to OK the debit transaction, then refused to give me the cash so I could bring the payment to the merchant, I was horrified. My account was in no danger of being overdrawn, but I had no way to pay the worker - PNC was holding my money hostage. They finally offered to do a cashiers check, which I did not wish to do, but had no other option. The bank manager - David Privitera - called the merchant to set up this payment method. I was then thoroughly mortified - and embarrassed - when he went into some explanation to the merchant that my debit card spending limit was not high enough for this simple purchase. From my end of the conversation, it sounded as though I didn't have the money. It was degrading and embarrassing.

Naturally, on Monday SCCU puts through the three withdraws.... overextends my account....charged me $90....Then puts through the deposits. This happened in spite of the fact that several of the deposits predated the withdraws. Happy accident for them I guess! This was not the first time they pulled this but it will be the last. I'm done with them. There are plenty of no fee bank options out there.
