    We had a friend do some work at our home and gave him some money in check form so he'd have extra…read moremoney to go on vacation. My GF is retired military and still writes the date as day, month then year. It's standard practice for military personnel and it's never been an issue until this Wells Fargo. They told him they couldn't cash the check for him because of the way the date is written. I called the branch and spoke to the manager. My call was just to ask the manager to inform the tellers that this is standard for military not to get in an argument. The manager had different plans and was very rude. After I explained what occurred she said what a minute, I'm trying to understand this. If it's your GF that was military why would you write the date that way? I said I didn't write the check at that point she started talking over me very rudely. I asked her why she was so hostile? She said she wasn't being hostile but her tellers know how the military writes dates and my GF must have wrote it wrong. I said no it was written correctly and one of your tellers wouldn't cash it. She came back with my tellers know what they're doing so it must have been the check. I could see this manager was unprofessional, not willing to listen to a very simple request I had to just let the tellers know about how the military writes dates. She was rude by talking over a customer and down to a customer and having a horrible attitude. As far as her nastiness to me she said she was trying to understand and asked why I'd written the date like that if I'm not military , I should have said you don't have to be military to use that format. I really wish I wasn't in a hurry because I had more to say after the manager was so rude to me. I've been a customer of this bank since it was First Union 20+ years. My parents closed their account yesterday and my sister closed hers today. They have had issues with their branches before (I can't speak for them as to what issues) and have been considering changing banks. This was the push I guess they needed. What a shame these bankers/ managers don't know how to speak to people and they seem to make their minds up as soon as someone starts speaking to them. I was trying to be informative and was actually not planning on an argument when I called. What a surprise I received!! Thank you for reading.
