Jeremy from Port Town Property Management is in my neighborhood supervising a rental property. I…read morejust popped my head in to say hello and commend them on their progress. Jeremy was rude, made disparaging comments, and slammed the door in my face. I am a community forward resident, realtor, and board member and am disheartened that someone in the real estate industry behaves so poorly. I encourage Jeremy take a class in community building and communication.

My experience with this property management company as a Representative of an Owner was deeply…read moredisappointing and raises serious concerns about their integrity and professionalism. Throughout my short time interacting with them, communication was inconsistent and often evasive. The most troubling issue arose when they attempted to accuse me of breach of contract due to court ordered change of representation for the owner of the property-- a claim that has no legal foundation . This was their way out of the contract due to my questioning of their leasing the property to an employee without proper pet documentation. Nan, the Port Town Owner and "Manager", ceased contact after being questioned about undocumented pets moving into the property. Though the documentation was later provided to the previous representative, the ESA pet paperwork was established, dated and documented AFTER being questioned which says enough. When bringing this up as a concern, Nan terminated the contract with 48 hours notice. In her termination notice she did not specify a reason which is necessary if she is making claims of breach. This is another example of where Nan appears overly confident in her assertions despite not knowing what she is talking about. Using a court ordered change of the property owners representation and its required duties as a pretext to terminate the contract was not only dishonest -- it had no legal basis and appeared intended to deflect attention from her own managerial failures. After consulting with a lawyer and reviewing the contract thoroughly, it was clear that her accusations were unfounded and if anyone, it was Nan and Port Town who breached the contract due to her lack of understanding a court order signed by a judge. They then withheld the money collected from rent and deposit for a month until they were sent a letter stating we would be moving forward with Small Claims. Nan, the "President, CEO, Property Manager" of Port Town seemed especially confident in asserting her claims. However, confidence does not equal legal accuracy. Despite her insistence, her interpretations of the contract and "breach" had no legal merit and it was in fact Nan who was in breach. Even more alarming, the arbitration clause she referenced pointed to an entity that two separate attorneys in Clatsop County couldn't find record of -- raising serious questions about the validity and enforceability of any of their contract terms. This entire experience felt less like a misunderstanding and more like a deliberate attempt to intimidate and manipulate through false assertions. That kind of behavior is not only unethical -- it's unacceptable in any professional setting. If you're considering working with this company, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Property management requires trust, transparency, and accountability -- none of which were demonstrated here. My experience with Nan and Port Town is they are opportunists who will take advantage of their clients and run when questions are asked. There are far more reputable companies who will treat tenants and clients with the honesty, respect and fairness they deserve.

I was going through a nasty break up and I have a 4 year old. I was a month to month..which I have never been on. It seemed strange and scammy. Plus they come into YOUR HOME, every three months for inspection. Strange. I have nothing to hide. I am a very quiet clean person. THEY TAKE PICTURES! So strange. I loved the location. 3 minutes to work and across the street from the park. I was planning on staying...oh no..they had no plans on keeping me. Came home early from work because my son's nanny was sick and on my door was a termination letter telling me I had 60 days to get out. Fine this apartment was already starting to fall apart. They didn't even clean the carpet before I moved in and smelled like dog so bad that I had to use an epi pen twice because of allergic reactions, as I am allergic to pet dander. I had this light fixture in the kitchen and one bulb went out and they had to call an electrician to tell me that the whole fixture had to be replaced because ONE lightbulb went out?? There were 5 bulbs all together...oh an d roaches. That was fun. I keep seeing pest control but didn't think anything of it till I moved my fridge and there was a two little German cockroach's. I had to look them up because I've never felt so played and I couldn't believe that they would do that.to me and my 3 year old at the time. Oh and there is a AA and NA meetings that run all day and night in the church next door and my car was broken into twice. Hey Cristina I just wanted to let you know that EVERYONE and I mean everyone warned me not to rent through you. I should have listened. Please get a more secure location to rent to parents. Clean up the mold and roaches @ 641 Commercial. I don't care how long you have been in business, you need to work on humility as a human. A lot of people are struggling and to make a single mother homeless is just foul. DONT RENT THROUGH SOWINS.
