The first time we walked in, they asked if we had a reservation. We said no, and they still sat us--thankfully--the wine selection was out of this world, and the frutti di mare was to die for. The kids had spaghetti Bolognese, and it was fantastic. The place was always busy. On our second visit , we called to make a reservation and they said that it was first come first served for the night, we had to wait - we thought, hey let's just walk around and see if there is availability somewhere else - everywhere else was dead ..(we had to go back), I tried the catch of the day--perfectly pulled fish with a fresh seasonal salad. I'm sure this is one of the best restaurants in Ravello. Just a tip: don't go too late. The service slipped from so-so to completely unattended for long stretches, which really took away from the experience. We ordered the grilled il pulpo (octopus) with mashed potatoes, herbs, dried tomatoes and crispy potato chips. The octopus was savory and tender while the mashed potatoes were creamy and herby. The spaghetti with clams were briny and very tasty. The focaccia pizza bread was herby, airy and had a nice flavor profile. A perfect mop to soak up the sauces. Service was nice, yet not overbearing. I cannot say enough about the restaurant setting and ambiance. They killed it and I would recommend a quiet, relaxing and truly lovely evening outside the crazy Amalfi and Positano chaos at Giardiniello. To the restaurant, a job well done.
