First night on the Amalfi coast and searching for a quiet, relaxing and tranquil setting…read more Giardiniello seems to meet our profile. The exterior is beautifully lit, nicely landscaped and an incredible soothing outdoor courtyard. The setting makes one feel like the meal will be equally impressive. One town east of Amalfi, this is a great option for a special dinner. Wine was ordered and the fresh bread was perfect for dipping. We ordered the grilled il pulpo (octopus) with mashed potatoes, herbs, dried tomatoes and crispy potato chips. The octopus was savory and tender while the mashed potatoes were creamy and herby. The spaghetti with clams were briny and very tasty. The focaccia pizza bread was herby, airy and had a nice flavor profile. A perfect mop to soak up the sauces. Service was nice, yet not overbearing. I cannot say enough about the restaurant setting and ambiance. They killed it and I would recommend a quiet, relaxing and truly lovely evening outside the crazy Amalfi and Positano chaos at Giardiniello. To the restaurant, a job well done.

We had the octopus that was so fresh it didn't even taste the slightest bit like fish. The margarita pizza was so crispy crunchy with the crust but light and not too bready with fresh mozzarella and a delicious sauce. The filet served on a bed of potatoes with a beef reduction sauce that made the meal even better complimented the melt in your mouth steak. Cannot recommend enough!

Sal de Riso commands a position on the main drag and is centrally located in the city. The display of artistic sweet treats look like museum pieces for the dessert world. Dining here for sweet treats is a staple in the quaint town of Minori. The display case is an art exhibit for "beautiful" food creations. It is almost sacrilegious to devour the artwork / treats. We left enough room after dinner to stop here and give them a try. Making a decision here is not easy. We selected the lemon cake with an ethereal regional following. It was delicious, not overly sweet and a mouth punch of lemony flavor. For the lemon lover, this is a must try. The three level chocolate tort was equally tasty and done very well. Don't over-eat and save room for the sinful deserts at Sal de Risa in Minori. If you are next door in Amalfi or Positano, hop the ferry for a nice, quiet and relaxing evening in the quaint neighboring town of Minori. It was be a welcomed relief to the crowded and bustling environment of the coast, especially in the summer.

There are so many deliciously described dishes on the menu but tonight was a consensus for pizza! All of the pies were big enough for more than one person so we shared. The menu does have multiple courses that have fresh seafood along with other proteins. Our server was patient and educated. This was walking distance from our hotel but it seems like you would be able to park across the street at the beach (I think). My pizza was really without cheese and the olives and capers and anchovies was a pleasing combination. The crust was light and chewy and had just a slight crunch from the char on the bottom. We plan on visiting this spot again this week! I think it is worth the trip from Amalfi, Positano or even Capri just to get some of the dessert after. Ciao!
