This place was just mid. Nothing exciting about it. The salsa and chips that were provided in the beginning were quite good and the salsa had a nice heat to it. The setup inside was okay. Seemed a bit dirty inside to be honest. The bathrooms and that area had a really funky smell, which is always a turn off. The meals we all ordered were also bland and the presentation was horrible. Check out my pictures and you will see. Our server even was giggling at one of our members in our group because she only wanted a side of tortillas. Rude! Food is good but staff is untrained and always messing up orders. Don't order the special they will charge full price anyway.

We had the absolute worst experience tonight at Compadres. I ordered a fajita salad with shrimp. I had a few accommodations to be made for it with my dietary restrictions. When I received the salad I noticed a juice in the bottom of the bowl. I asked what it was and the waitress went and checked and was told "cheese sauce". I started to eat and right away noticed something was off. After a few bites. Maybe 2/3 shrimp I said to my husband "this is bean juice!" Which I cannot have beans at all and will have a major reaction. When the server came out I told her the problem and asked if it could be re made and she was super polite and apologetic and told me yes. A few minutes later she returns to tell me the salad cannot be remade per her manager since I ate some of the meat off of it. The best they could do is give me a toss salad. I told her no way and that was ridiculous. I go inside to pay and ask to speak to the manager. The waitress comes back and tells me "the manager is busy" I responded "I'll wait" Once the manager came out there she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms and asked what the problem was. I repeated the above scenario and said "since the salad was refused to be remade I am reusing to pay for something I couldn't even eat" She then replied "so the waitress didn't tell you it had beans?" And o told her "not upfront but when I sent them back she did confirm there were beans and I told her I couldn't eat beans" the manager told me "SHE WAS GOING TO LAY OFF THE WAITRESS FOR A FEW DAYS FOR LYING TO HER BECAUSE NO ONE LIES TO HER, SHES THE MANAGER" At this point I'm livid. Poor waitress being blamed for the rude managers issues. The waitress was willing to fix it the manager was not. She took the salad down to half price, I still looked at her and said "I didn't get to eat half of the salad why should I have to pay for half of the salad?" I am going home angry that she's blaming her staff and taking a customer she is going to lay them off. How unprofessional also going home hungry! Finally she told me she was taking $9 off of the $12 salad and I said fine. I was over her awful attitude and blatant disrespect for her staff and customers. After paying she walks off. No apology, no have a good day NOTHING. I get in the car look at my recipes and she still only took off $8.70. Not even the full $9 she agreed to. Do not eat here. The manager needs to be fired. read more

I took my family here for dinner. Extremely disappointed. We asked the server for a drink menu, and her reply was you want me to go get it. Things did not get any better after that. We ordered two coronas and two waters. The beers came without lime, and we had to ask for that in addition. my sons plate came without any beans when it said it came with rice and beans. He said it was very bland and not flavorful at all. I had a taco salad that was just about like a bowl of soup. It was so watery in the bottom. It was not good. My daughter-in-law had a steak Fajita that was OK. Several reasons not to return here. Serving staff, food, and cleanliness. My son was going to take their toddler to the men's room. He said it was too nasty in there to even let the child in. Avoid at all cost. read more

The fish welcome you to friendly restaurant where no one scare my family. I scream at first when I see fish: I am afraid I wander into bottom of ocean instead I in friendly Mexican restaurant. The food comes from kitchen at incredible pace. I order and BING BONG food is on table. They not even drop the plate. Placed a call in order of cheese dip and guacamole dip along with cheese enchiladas, got a 2oz size of "guac" which turned out to be just a smashed avocado, the whole order was 28 dollars....total rip off. That place is ridiculous with their price and portion sizes,the food is subpar! Don't even want to give them one star....Never again! read more

Do not eat at this place. The staff sucks, everyone has an attitude. If must have Food go to Taco Bell and I don't like Taco Bell but you do get some food without attitude and it will taste better than this dive. Do not think about doing a Call in order. It's really hard to know what you will be charged but I can tell you one thing it will not be in your favor and don't expect the order to be right. Just don't go to this dive. read more

Does anyone care at Compadres??? I'll break it down: - Cleanliness - clean plate (I think), dirty silverware, but overall the place is a typical Mexican restaurant in rural NC. A few extra minutes a day could get the bathroom a little less smelly though... - Atmosphere - the place has an okay vibe to it... not distastefully decorated but could certainly be better. - Food - Its the same menu as nearly every Mexican restaurant in NC (or outside Mexico) but has taken a serious down turn. Portions have gotten smaller, food has been consistently cold, hair in the refried beans (waitstaff has long hair and no hair nets). A few weeks ago I watched the bar tender (who I was pretty sure was only 16 or 17) mix a margarita with her finger... not cool in so many ways. - Cost - pretty typical but they nickel and dime you for any extras (sour cream, extra tortillas).. made me surprised they don't yet charge for the chips and salsa.. All in all, the management at Compadres seems to be fairly disengaged or lacking any sort of professional disposition that could make this place be a bit better than it is. With the myriad of Mexican restaurants in the immediate area, I feel it won't be long before this one finds itself closed like their last one. One comment to the owner... take a look at how Pittsboro does it.. they got it right! For now... I will be taking a 6 month break before I come back... if you're still around. read more

Good beer, great shrimp tacos waiter Jacob was friendly but humorous overall good experience. Highly suggest the shrimp tacos.

Jacob and Madeline are amazing. They get the food out really fast and are very nice to everyone!

I always look forward to coming here because they have amazing rice, and I love the white sauce they bring out with the chips. The last two times we came though it has been horrible. The service is really bad. It's like bad servers training bad servers. They are a bunch of kids running a restaurant. I have only seen a manager here once, and I have been here quite a few times. Service was horrible , our waitress brought half of our food, we asked for another drink and she dissapear for over 20 min. Never came back !!! I ate that food that was not good by the way. We could walk out without paying. Everyone was going inside to complain or to leave their checks since was no one coming to check on us. We decided to go inside and we spoke to the "manager" that did nothing but to send the waitress for us to confront her?!? Seriously? Now, the waitress came outside laughing and apologizing, and she STILL didnt remember what was done wrong. I never write reviews but I will write one for this terrible place. Now don't get me wrong I love their food but the service IS TERRIBLE. I called in to place an order for pickup and the guy that answered put me on hold for 15+ minutes. There is no excuse for that. Ive placed orders in the past where I have ordered and made sure the guy answering the phones repeats it back to me and I still end up getting the wrong items. They need to do a whole revamp of the staff it's mostly younger guys who don't know what customer service means. They are simply there to collect a check and it's obvious. Get it together and fast there are plenty of other Mexican Restaurants in town that will be happy to get my business. read more

I come here often and have always had a great experience! Me and my mom love the yummy food and the staff are always friendly to us.

This is our second time to this restaurant and we will not be back. Service was lackluster. Waitress went missing after taking our order and delivering drinks. We were forced to track down others for tortillas and other missing side dishes. The food is adequate at best. There aren't many good options in Randleman and this one isn't worth a return visit. read more

The manager was very unprofessional and argumentative with me in front of staff and customers. I told him I was charged for a plate I didn't touch. The food did not look appealing so I asked to change the dish. He finally removed the charges but only after debating with me first. Found out there are several complaints about him. Compadres is a great place to feed your authentic Mexican craving. Every time we've been there they always have hot fresh chips and delicious homemade salsa ready for you while you look over the menu. The service is exceptional! Especially their new manager - Nancy. I discovered this relatively new little place in Randleman while out on a geocaching excursion. There are several Compadres sites -- in Siler City, NC; Wilson, NC; and Pulaski, VA -- which appear to have the same menu. The Randleman location is not large but very comfortable, and the staff was cordial, prompt, and efficient. I ordered the tacos -- very authentic, with small, soft tortillas, shredded beef, pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, lime, and roasted jalapeno on the side (you can also get them with fish, chicken, and chorizo). These were absolutely delicious, the quantity just right. My caching partner ordered nacho fajitas, by her account very good. I always appreciate a Mexican restaurant that provides a variety of hot sauces, especially the green habanero variety, right at the table. Their salsa was top-notch, and they also provide a spicy mayo sauce, which more than hit the spot. The menu features quite a few tantalizing selections, such as pollo a la diabla, chile poblano, and flauta mexicana, for which I must absolutely return. Based on my experience today, I'll be going back at the first opportunity. read more
