I love this Mexican restaurant! If I am in the area, this is my choice for Mexican! They have the best chips and salsa. The service is amazing every time, no matter what day of the week or time of day that you go. I always get the ACP or AC Texanas and it's always perfect. They have delicious shrimp and you are always given more than enough food. I really appreciate that their ACP plates come with the salad, sour cream, and pico de gallo. That is always nice to have as part of the dish rather than having to trade a side or pay extra. The prices are also very reasonable and comparable to other Mexican restaurants in the area. The decor in this place is fun as well. I recently brought a group with me to eat here and that was the first thing they pointed out. They loved the decor!

El Carreton has potential and offers a calming atmosphere reminiscent of a classic family Mexican restaurant. Given that it's only been open for a week, some hiccups are understandable. The service was quite slow during our visit, but I'm hopeful this will improve with time. I ordered the quesadilla Hawaiiana, which was just okay, but the chori queso was quite good. My husband's carnitas street tacos were tasty and flavorful. Despite not being super impressed on our first visit, I'm willing to give El Carreton another try as they settle in and find their rhythm.

New mexican spot opened right down the street and you best we were eager to give them a try! You can tell they are still getting in the groove as they are a new establishment but their Al pastor street tacos are the best I've had around. Each taco was bursting with flavors and they have the toppings on the side which was wonderful for some of our picky eaters. Also it is SUPER cute in there. The ambiance is so inviting, the staff are super friendly and we had a really great time. They have your basic Mexican food dishes from what I can tell but their Al Pastor tacos are hands down the best I've had! If you're craving tacos that leave you waiting for your next visit... this is the place Bravo guys! This may be a new spot for us

Nice new Mexican restaurant in the Welcome/Lexington area. Prices are affordable especially their lunch menu, which is unbeatable anywhere else! We tried a few different dishes and everything was just as good as any other Mexican restaurant around. Service was attentive and kept check on our table. Building inside is well decorated with cultural items. Will definitely be going back to try more dishes!

The only good food was the chips and salsa. Service was okay....not very friendly. Would not return. I've never left a Mexican restaurant hungry.

This small, very small taqueria serves up some nice, well filled tacos, and has for over 10 years…read more They also serve an excellent Pozole Verde on Thursdays - the thing that really got my attention. When I was younger, so much younger than today, I traveled internationally for a Fortune 500 company for over 12 years. In those travels I spent over a year in Mexico, because it was a problem place, to do business in any way - to protect inventory (we hired armed guards to patrol behind fenced areas, 24/7), to collect accounts receivable, especially from the Federal and State governments, to operate within the guidelines of the SEC! The good part was to sample food I had no idea existed. I had birria for the first time in 1979 in Guadalajara - stew only, no tacos at the time; carbito; and I had Pozole Verde for the first time, with pork, amazing dish! The version of pozole verde served here is very good, but does not have quite the layers of flavor this dish is famous for, like the ones I've sampled at Taqueria Los Juanes, El Camino Real, and Paisano El Tacos - all in Winston. Still it is a dish worth having a go at! I topped the relatively thin stew with cheese, chopped white onion, chicharrones, and avocado. In addition, I squeezed on lime juice and added hot sauce. All of this added additional flavors as well as a variety of textures. I wish there had been cabbage and cilantro to add as well. I tried the Quesabirria tacos and found them to be very nice - well filled and flavorful. I'm glad I tried the food here, and if in the area I'd stop in, but I would not consider this a destination spot.
