Compadres is our solid go-to place for Mexican food in Siler City. The food is very standard, but their guacamole is very good. The service is hit or miss for consistency, but it's good enough that we go back. They are in a constant state of changing the interior to more intricate tile work, so be aware that some things look unfinished. Our go to is the shrimp with rice. Their cheese dip is pretty solid. The fish tank is what keeps the kids occupied when we're waiting for our ticket. If you just want some good food, try them out. read more

I like that they've taken down the wall between the bar and the dining area. The service could not have been more friendly. However, I should have been suspicious that it came out so quickly. While the Fajita San Jose tasted OK it's the only fajita I ever had that surprised me when it arrived at the table because it wasn't sizzling. I didn't hear it coming like all the others before. Never had a fajita plate where there was water in the bottom of it. Yes some sizzling juices but never water. Deserves a 1.5. And for some reason they let me get a lunch size portion, which you usually can only get during the week. read more

Whoa. This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. We moved here a few months ago and my husband has been going there religiously every week. Well today he decided to take our granddaughter and I. I'll premise this by saying no other customers were in the restaurant 1. Waitress was a low talker, long hair dangling everywhere (yes tie it back!) not efficient whatsoever. We asked for salsa and water 4 times! She forgot my husbands beer and the margarita and virgin margarita came out after the food. 2. Upon almost finishing my meal-I found a BB-yup-a BB in my rice. One of the workers took it back to the manager and relayed that she was checking the video in the kitchen to see what happened-which is basically saying she is checking the video to make sure I didn't put it in there. We were in a hurry and didn't have time to wait. Any manager worth their weight would have taken the meal off immediately instead of making the customer feel they did something wrong. I'd I was going to scam you-I would have "found" a bb in the more expensive food. 3. The virgin margarita and regular margarita with an extra shot were the same price. What? I'm trying to calculate how that would be possible. My margarita actually tasted like a virgin one. I apologized to my husband over and over about the situation and he said "don't worry-I won't be coming back here again." We paid for the whole check-and guess what Compadres-because you wouldn't take off an 8.00 meal-and made a customer feel like a liar-you've lost a weekly customer. Good for you. Beware of fraud at the Siler City location. Within 10 minutes of leaving after our meal a $2,500 vacation was charged to the credit card we used to pay for the meal. Because we use the credit card so rarely, we are sure the thief was at the restaurant. read more

What happened to one of our regular restaurants? The rice was hard and old. The refried beans tasted rancid and they didn't put queso cheese shreds on top, but a few tablespoons of cheap powdered Parmesan cheese! I couldn't eat it. My daughter and I ordered ACP with a side of beans. The chicken had been rewarmed and hard, completely inedible. They used to have the most delicate rice with corn and peas, now it's inedible at exorbitant prices. Since we had been faithful regulars we were polite and paid the bill and left. Whoever was running the kitchen that day did not grant us any courtesy by serving inedible, rancid food. That was it. I'm really sad as this was our favorite when our kids were growing up. It used to be a great place to eat and socialize with friends and family. Our last trip was so uncomfortable because we wanted to complain but didn't. The price for the both of us was over fifty dollars. The kitchen had to know they were serving rancid, old food. read more

Called in a to go order, 2 Texas acp's, side of cheese dip, side of cheese sticks, they told us they were out of steak but would give us extra chicken. Total came out to $47 and some change. We've ate here plenty and never paid that much for 2 dishes and an appetizer. When we asked the person on the other line to break down the pricing and it still didn't add up. At the end of the discussion they told us they had added a 15% gratituity.... for a call in order.... and without asking or telling us. Order was canceled, don't plan on going back. read more

I love mexican food. But I will not return here. Shoulda been a red flag when there were white waitresses. Ha ha. Anyway the waitresses were aloof & got our order wrong (there were only three tables in the place on a weekend) & plenty of staff so i dont know what the problem was She forgot half of my husbands order & when I requested more salsa it never came. We finally got all our food which seemed great & reasonably priced. (Sorry to be graphic BUT): We then BOTH ended up with diarrhea for the rest of the late evening & next day. Used to be a habitual customer. Beer and appetizers on Fridays, after work. Started noticing that service got worse every time. All because we did not order food, basically had a few drinks. If you are looking for that Americanized Mexican restaurant this is a good one. Prices are reasonable and food is consistently good. I frequent here often with friends and family. I have always had good service. One of my favorite things about compadres is the spicy "white sauce" that comes with the chips and salsa. I don't see it at many Mexican restaurants but it's really good. read more

If you don't want to cook and this is as far as you're willing to drive, it's fine. Not appalling but this is definitely watered down mexican food. The guacamole lacks the zing of cilantro . The beef taco was ok. My partner had the enchilada w potatoes and again it was fine. Nothing to write home about but grateful I didn't have to cook it. read more

Pretty standard Americanized Mexican food, I like the white sauce they have for the chips. Everything here is competently done.

My hubby Rick and I love this restaurant. This is our date night that we go every Monday night. The service is great. They never let you run out of something to drink and are always asking is everthing okay and is there anything else that they can get you..To me, that is what a restaurant is suppose to do..Customer always comes first and at Compadres you do.... read more

Very clean, family restaurant. We love this place and eat here at least once a week. The price is right and the food is great. Daily special's, We love Monday nite fajita's. Enough for 2, $6.99, chicken or beef. We lovethe chicken. They do not mind that we share and never charge. 99 cent beer specials. Check this place out, everytime family comes to visit they always ask to go to Compadres. Even my 70 yr old parents who dislike mexican food loves the fajita's. Good job Compadres.
