I have gone to him for years. He knows his stuff and quick to diagnose a problem. A lot cheaper than elsewhere. His price is almost unbeatable. Will not try to sell you anything that you don't need. Sometimes he will even tell you to wait for a little longer because the parts still have some life while other mechanics are telling you to change them out. Don't expect smiles, greets and all that. (You come here because you want to save money for car repair. ) They are straightforward. You drop the car off, tell him why you are there for. Then just wait for them to call you back. Scroll to the bottom for conclusion. I was recommended this mechanic by my family saying that says he's very honest and hardworking. Earlier this week I stopped by to get my window fixed because it had come off the track. The owner looked it over and said that I needed a new power window regulator. The owner advised me to go to Autozone (next door) and pick up the part and he would install it for $40. The part had to be ordered and would arrive the following day. I promptly ordered the part and after it arrived I made my second attempt to come here 2 days later in the afternoon, but he was pretty busy. I decided I would come in early the next day rather than wait. I got here at 10am and he started work on it immediately. He's not very good on formalities or pleasantries but he is a hard-worker. Also if he's busy don't wait around for someone to greet you. You'll be waiting a long time. Walk up even if he's with someone or working and introduce yourself to get the ball rolling. The Hispanic guy that works for the owner is kind of curt and will direct you to the owner, I'd bypass him all together. He took apart my passenger door and then proceeded to open the part packaging. Then he tells me that the part doesn't have a motor (it would have been nice if he looked at the part prior to starting the work). I reminded him that he only told me to get the regulator not the motor. He then corrected and said that he needed the motor too. So because my car door was all taken apart, I told him I would walk over to Autozone and return the regulator and get the motor with regulator or get the motor for the regulator. Autozone then told me that they didn't have the motor in stock and it would need to be purchased separately, so I would need to try somewhere else, so I didn't return the regulator because I thought I just needed to find the motor. I then walked back with the part and informed him that I needed to try to find the motor elsewhere. I asked if he could call O'reilly or other parts stores and see if they had it in stock. His wife called and found another place (didn't say where) that would sell me both parts used for $120 + tax cash only and she would go to pick it up for me. I didn't have the cash on me so I told her I would have to come back. So I went back to Autozone to return the part that I would no longer need, while he reassembled my door. I left after the door was assembled and decided to check on the parts from a dealership. The price range for part was $449.23- $495.29 with backorders. I decided to go with the quicker cheaper fix. Then once I got the cash I called and I told his wife I would be there, but I would like to have the part ready to be installed. She told me to come back at 2:30 and she would have the part. She called at 2 to ask me about the VIN number and I told her it was a made in Japan. She confirmed that it would be there by 2:30. I arrived at 2:30 and there is no sign of wife with part. I called her on her cell and it's going to voicemail so I leave a message. He now has 2 customers in front of me, I go to ask the owner when his wife will be here and he tells me that she left to go get the part. 30 minutes later she shows up with part. At 3:11 I ask how long it will be, she starts talking to her husband and starts to walk away from me but does not answer me. Then after some time being on the phone and ignoring me she says that it will be an hour and a half. So about 4:40 they will start on my car, I tell her I have a meeting at 4 and would like to know if I come back will they for sure get to me today, otherwise I'd reschedule my meeting. She says yes, so l leave and come back at 5. Waited from 5 until 6:30 while they worked on a car that had been here since 3. The wife comes to me and says if I can come back tomorrow because this other car took too long because of so many issues. I get here the following day at 9:35 Waiting another half hour I decide to just leave my car here, but then at 10:05 he starts working on it. Once he got to the glass he realized it was the plastic holders that hold the glass that broke. The wife said both were broken. I pointed out the motor was working fine but the glass had come off its track. After we tried to argue the issue he took the regulator to the battery and connected it with some alligator clips to test and it was working. So it was only the window not the regulator or the motor. The wife said the replacement window would only cost $65, which would bring my total to $110 with taxes. I left and the car was done at 12:30. Conclusion: Bring cash. Hope he doesn't misdiagnose the issue. Have a ride to drop you off. Have them call you when it's ready. If you want a cheap fix come here but have a ride so you're not waiting.
