At the same time, he fixed my rear brakes as well. Another customer has a car that needed repair and Billy stayed past closing hours to fix that car so they can have it for 4th of July weekend. If you are in the immediate Mission Bend area, you have a neighborhood mechanic right there that is honest, dedicated and understands how families depend on their cars for many needs. The one thing I really appreciate is that Billy will take you to the back and show you the issues and gives you the option if you want it fixed. Mechanics that are dishonest will not take you to the back where the car is being is repaired. Another thing I like is that he is also back there working on your car repairs as well.

I called on a Mon morning, and Edward mentioned he was pretty busy and suggested I come in on Tues January 6. He had a doctor's appointment that morning and asked us to arrive at 11:15 am, which we did. After explaining the issues, he diagnosed the problem by 12:30 pm and recommended four items to be fixed. The total quote came close to $2K which was more than I expected. His initial assessment aligned with what my former mechanic had said, but additional repairs--especially replacing the spark plugs. While that hurt the budget, I understood the necessity. I had afternoon commitments, so I asked if a loaner car was available. I truly appreciated Edward lending me his Toyota Camry so I could make it to my event. He promised my car would be ready by 5:30 pm and I returned to pick it up as scheduled. Unfortunately, within five minutes of driving, the engine light came on and the car began shaking slightly. I immediately returned, and Edward told me to keep the loaner car overnight and come back on Wednesday so he could run a more thorough diagnostic. On Wed around 11 am, he texted to say the car was ready. I picked it up at 1 pm, and I've been driving it for several days now with no issues. Overall, despite the initial hiccup, I'm grateful Edward was able to take me in, stand behind his work, and ultimately fix my vehicle. His willingness to recheck the issue and provide a loaner car made a stressful situation much easier to manage.

This turned out to be an incredibly frustrating and costly experience. The shop charged $221.94 just for the battery service, which was particularly disappointing considering a local O'Reilly's had offered to do the installation for free if I purchased the battery from them. The service was also plagued by unnecessary delays and oversight. I was forced to pay out-of-pocket for two unexpected Uber rides because the shop kept my vehicle overnight, claiming the mechanic lacked the "proprietary tool" required to remove the battery. In reality, the job only requires a standard 10mm socket for the terminals and a 13mm socket with an extension for the hold-down bolt. To make matters worse, despite paying for a tire rotation, the shop completely missed that two of the rotated tires were left low on pressure. I chose to support a neighborhood business, but this experience was a lesson well learned.
