Not worth going to, I have been here a few times when visiting family. The food always makes my stomach hurt. It's very greasy, and the drinks are interesting but not enough to make it worth the stomach troubles. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, it was not spicy, it was most just greasy and had some weird slaw on it that made no sense with the food. The fries are okay. We also got the arancini but it was a little dry. And we got the Spinach Artichoke dip which was okay. Although the chips left grease on the plate. We came here around 2pm on a Friday with 6 people and were able to be sat with no problem. I also got a Griswold Nog which came in a very cute moose cup. read more

Sat outside with my family under the covered part of the outdoor area. . Only one other table was occupied in our section. We waited for 20 minutes and were never even acknowledged. The waitress served the other table three times but completely ignored us. No greeting, no "we'll be right with you," nothing. Tried to find a manager, but it took too long, so we just left. So extremely disappointed in what used to be my favorite restaurant in Plymouth when we visit. However, after our last take out order, I'm disappointed. Our salads were a mess (one upside down in the bag so it leaked all over and the other they didn't add the protein (said we ordered it that way.. NOT) anyways we called to get a credit and the manager had an obvious attitude right from the start. Read my order back to me and said the salad was ordered with no onion no protein... no onion is correct no chicken ... never said that. Very defensive attitude, not good customer service which is one thing I've noticed is lacking in the last few years. Perhaps that is why it's never extremely busy. Food has always been great, service since 2020... meh. And take out.. no bueno! Time to find a new fav in town and with all the restaurants in the area it won't be too hard. read more

I went to eat with my family this evening at E.G. Nicks. We were seated and promptly greeted by a friendly server. We ordered our drinks and put in an order for their boneless chicken wings as our appetizer. The server came back a few minutes later to apologize, saying that they ran out of wings and asked if we would like anything else as an appetizer. We declined and simply ordered our dinner. A few minutes later, the server came back to apologize about one of our dinner orders- the smoked pulled pork Mac n cheese. He explained that they ran out of pulled pork. Confused, I looked at my watch, it was 7:40pm on a Wednesday with a mostly empty restaurant. We ordered something else and the server came back with a cocktail menu and he offered a cocktail on the house for the inconvenience. I ordered a dirty shamrock frozen drink. A few minutes later, the manager came over to explain that she turned the frozen machine off for cleaning and asked if I would like a different drink- you can't make this up. I declined just ready to eat our meal at this point. The friendly server brought a complimentary desert to the table after dinner. The server was the best part of the whole experience but he confided in us on our way out that this was his last week. This restaurant needs to have the food and drinks on the menu. Either slim the menu down or stock more food. This was not a good experience! read more

Like many other reviewers I wanted to like this place but the food wasn't good. The bang bang shrimp was overcooked and a lot of the shrimp still had the shells on, so the sauce stuck to the shells and you were left with an overcooked, chewy morsel of shrimp. Meanwhile the fried grouper was mushy, although the fries were good. The service was friendly and efficient but this place is a hard pass going forward based on the disappointing food. read more

The fish and chips here are amazing! We had the Brie jam appetizer and I did not like that at all, it was kind of bitter for me. The person I was with liked it so I guess different taste buds may enjoy. Everything else was great! The breadsticks are really good too! 5 years later so it's time to update this review! A friend had her birthday dinner here tonight so I was excited to get to try E.G. Nick's out again. I used to go to the West Bloomfield location all the time before it closed, too. I was thinking of ordering the fried brie with raspberry sauce and pita appetizer, and then a friend ended up ordering it for the table. It was very tasty, and can definitely be split among a few people. I ordered the Rum Runner for my drink and it was delicious, although VERY boozy ... after I drank the first 1/4 of it I had to slow down a bit. For my meal, I tried the Greek burger, even though it's a veggie burger (I prefer meat), and it was good, although the portion was very large so I didn't finish it. I think it's made out of feta cheese, spinach, Panko breadcrumbs, and a few other ingredients. It normally comes with sweet potato waffles fries, but another friend added the cheddar mashed potatoes to her meal, and that sounded pretty good, so I ordered that too; that was tasty as well. E.G. Nicks has a pretty varied menu; others in our party ordered salmon, lasagna (HUGE portions too!), pot roast nachos, and a few other meals. Drinks were priced really nicely too, especially for Plymouth; cocktails started at $7.50. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention their bread, which comes with some sort of whipped butter, and is fantastic. The reason I'm bumping E.G. Nicks up to 5 stars is that our waitress (Christine, I think? According to my receipt) did a fabulous job at giving us each our own bill after, and my friend who planned the get-together (the birthday girl) said they did really well in accommodating our party of 15 people, even with some headcount changes and also a slight reservation time change. The restaurant sat us at a table of 10 and a table of 5, and I really liked that both tables were round, so that everyone could see and talk to the whole table. I'll be back at some point for the bread and also the brie appetizer, and to try more of their menu, too. I don't believe they have any outdoor dining but indoors was spaced out nicely; none of the employees were wearing masks, but they were following the 50% rule, which is still in place until this Tuesday. read more

It's a fun atmosphere inside and chilled too. Bar scene or food wise, it's pretty good. I believe it's the same owner as Tomato brothers in Howell, which is my husband's favorite spot for lasagna. Thus why he gets the lasagna here as well whenever we are on this side of town. Come here for a laid back and fun spot and try out their lasagna, if you can't get to Howell. We like to come here as well if we don't make it out to Howell as well. read more

Looks good on the website, but it wasn't very good in person. I ordered the Crème Steak and my girlfriend ordered the Greek lamb chops. She said here's tasted good but the size was very, very small. Mine on the other hand was not good. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it came out very rare and very tough. The only reason I didn't send it back for more cooking is that it would have just got tougher. I also had the garlic mashed potatoes which were visibly dry. Not sure who works in their kitchen but they must not take pride in the meals they serve. Top that off with an inattentive server and you've got EG Nicks. Not a cheap place ether. Spent $100 to go away disappointed. There are plenty of good places in Plymouth to eat so try them instead. read more

My husband and I love EG Nick's! The drinks are always cold and the food excellent. Bar staff can be hit or miss (some friendlier and more attentive than others) but never a bad experience here. I love their steak salad, and both the fish n chips and chicken Picatta were both really good. Added bonus is it's walking distance to my house! read more

I joined a meetup group for a dinner, my 1st since the stay home, stay safe closed dinning in options. I heard that restaurants had to have all staff in masks, require guests to wear masks, temperature checks, social distancing tables, and single use menus. TROUBLE with this place, they only did 1 and a half of those. Staff in masks and most tables setup out side was 6 ft. apart. Our group was set at large long tables. If they had set them up like they should, the group would have used those since it would have limited exposure. I just keep my mask on most of the time. I could do that because the service was so slow. Told we had to be there by 5:20 for a 5:30 setting. Got sat 5:50. Drink orders were 1st so food orders didn't go in until 6:20. Warned the food could take longer because of Covic-19 restrictions. TRY OVER 70 minutes later food arrived. I had to just have mine boxed. Did quickly eat the veggies and tried the salmon, paid, and left with my card board box (!!!) of take out. I wondered what the company did with all the boxes libraries used to get all those card catalog cards in, their take out boxes now. While the salmon was the usual size of other places, the amount of rice and grilled veggies was about half of other places. Nothing special about any of those, in fact Plum Market and Westborn has much better salmon. I will say that the bread basket was delicious but had to ask for another just to have something to eat during the long wait for food. My dinning group seemed to enjoy the choices of mixed drinks and vine so that might be why they kept saying how good the food is. Or have a much more limited experiences with real good food and service. Unless this place gets on board with the safety rules, don't hurry to try it until a vaccine is on the market for the virus. I gave them 1 star for diet Coke so you understand how I got my star rating. read more

E G Nicks is a good steady Plymouth restaurant and bar. Food is good and so is the service. It's also reasonably priced. It was recently remodeled and looks nice both inside and out. This was long overdue frankly. It also has a very nice patio. Probably the best in Plymouth. They used to have several other locations but most have closed unfortunately. The only other that I am aware of is in Lapeer. read more

Tried this place once about a year ago and the food was not good. Tried it again last night as a last resort with long waits everywhere else downtown Plymouth. There's a reason this place is always empty. The food is absolutely disgusting. Our server was good, but the ribs were dryer than jerky. The wings were so dry on the outside and rubbery on the inside. The pasta was mush and the chicken with it was so chewy it couldnt be eaten. Beer was cold, but definitely a place to Avoid. read more

This was a wonderful surprise stop for us. Got on the list at the gastropub down the street and they gave away our table within 10 min. Starving we decided to try this place, fate has a way of guiding you! Hidden gem, awesome draft beer list, we had the grouper tacos and the Louisiana chicken sandwich, both were delicious! Tacos were huge and I could only eat 1. The coke slaw is amazing and the service attentive and quick! We will definitely come back again. I don't know guys, I so want to like this place but the food isn't very good. I visited tonight with a small group of friends and ordered the Po Boy sandwich. I didn't like it at all. It had weird textures, and the taste was kind of terrible. The accompanying blue cheese coleslaw was OK but not terrific. I don't think anybody in our group especially liked their meals, either. On a positive note, we had a great server, who was very sweet. EG Nicks is also in a great location with ample parking, a rarity in downtown Plymouth. And the place is always full, giving it a fun party atmosphere. Maybe come for the drinks and get a meal elsewhere. read more

What a fun place! We were spending our day in Plymouth. At first we were going to hit some breweries. But then we decided just to stay in the area and walk to some bars. He explained that this bar has been around for ever. It was a really cool spot! The room is curved. I don't know how to explain it. But it looks like the building is round. But it isn't. The bar was decorated beautifully. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super cool. There were some locals in there but it was a fairly quiet Sunday. I ordered a beer but he asked what the bartender recommended. He made him a drink that was named after himself because he created it. Omg! It was so good. I ended up getting one of those next! We chatted a while. We didn't eat because we were full from brunch. But we really enjoyed chatting and looking at all the decorations. We would definitely come back. HAPPY Holiday!!! read more

We had dinner here on Sunday and I would title our meal is Reheat Left Overs Sunday. This was the absolute worst meal ever. Literally the entire meal was reheated repurposed food. From the bread sticks, the dry as the bone baby back ribs to the cold dry reheated cheddar mashed potatoes which weren't even room temperature. The only thing about the four meals we had was our server Ryan who was very attentive. If this meal were Free, it wasn't even worth that. None of us will ever return here. Not sure how I have had more tender beef jerky than the reheated dried out baby back ribs. I didn't even know that was possible. The battered Grouper my wife had tasted like freezer, old freezer. Just be sure to check the cleanliness of your plates and silverware. Ate here on 3/22, the bread plate sitting on the table was GREASY. I asked the waiter to bring a clean one, and think he actually brought the same plate back, as it was greasy as well. When I brought it up to a manager who walked by, he said he should probably check the water that was being used for washing dishes. Not very encouraging.. A friend and I had dinner tonight at E G Nick's. We both had the lake perch with cheddar mashed potatoes. It was outstanding. Lake perch is my favorite food. This was cooked perfectly with a delicious buerre blanc and caper sauce. Our waiter, Ryan could not have been nicer or more personable. He was attentive and efficient. We definitely will be back. Not a fan of this place but my mother likes it. Waitress was nice and did a good job, but the food was awful. Ordered an app and came out burnt and the chips were deeped fried and over salted. We usually end up coming to this place because they don't typically have a long obnoxious wait like many of the other places in DTP always do. There was one last night so we decided sitting at the bar would be just fine. The young newer battens was super great! SO nice, helpful and attentive. They also have good beers on tap. For this visit I happily enjoyed the Atwater Whango Mango, so delicious! We also can't get enough of their bread (and I'm not even a bread person). My boyfriend felt his meal was a little small, so that's why I had to give it a 4. We will definitely be back, but he will get something different. read more

I am not sure what happened to this place or the nachos that I used to love. Came here with a friend from out of town after I raved to her about the nachos(I know nachos) but I loved them here before.. this time not sure what happened. Ordering the drinks took a very long time. She def left the sad nachos in the heat lamp for way to long before serving. Just not good. My bar drink was great, my food was ok. My wife's side salad was inedible and not at all fresh. Our main courses were pretty good but not great. I love the free bread. Glad some things never change. Beer selection is quite good. I think the place is still solid but definitely up against fierce competition in the upscale Plymouth market. Personally, I think their menu is too expansive and difficult to keep everything top notch. The aged atmosphere is getting stale. I think it's time for an update of the seating area and menu in my opinion. I'm on the fence if I'll be back in the future. read more

Really enjoyed sitting outside and eating their Bang Bang shrimp appetizer. That with a side salad was a great portion for lunch. My friend got the lunch portion ravioli and it was delicious too. Great drink selection and fun atmosphere. They seem to have some rookie wait staff so some patience is needed but everyone deserves a little slack when learning new things. The atmosphere is very relaxed and so is the wait staff and management. They almost treat you like a fast food chain which I never go to because of the bad food and bad service. I honestly have given them multiple tries hoping for better results and the have epically failed on every issue. The location is great and the potential is there but the effort is just disappointing. The cleanliness is less than desirable unfortunately as I've always had to ask for new silverware and glasses. The restrooms army terrible but again could be cleaner and better stocked. The food is either hit or miss but of it's a miss they don't go out of there way to fix the issue and almost seemed annoyed at the inconvenience of having to address the issue. I guess next time I come in I'll just go back and cook my meal. I don't recommend this establishment and I hate leaving bad reviews but this one is well deserved. read more

It's been a very long time since I visited this restaurant, so I along with a friend decided to go back and have our favorite menu items. We were seated in the bar area and waited close to 10 minutes for our drinks. Then finally the order was taken, about 30 minutes later, wouldn't you know it, we got our food, finally! We didn't let it ruin our night because we were deep into our conversation, but once the food came, it went absolutely down hill from there. I ordered a simple salad but minus the bacon and it was loaded with bacon. My friend ordered a greek salad with steak done med, came back well done t. How do you possible mess up either one of those salads. I couldn't eat my salad with the bacon so I sent it back and asked for the manager. My friend was upset but so hungry that he continued to eat his salad minus the steak. I asked our server Debbie to get the Manager, Chris came over and you can tell the hesitation on his face, like oh great again! I explained to him the problem of my salad then the other salad. He literally just stood there with this dumb look on his face, obviously showing me that he didn't know how to do his job. The more he stood there sounding like an idiot, the angrier I was getting. Instead of giving me the menu to pick something out, he's arguing with me on when we put the time in for our order. The main focus is customer satisfaction. This visit alone has shown me that they are struggling to keep this restaurant which was once a little hidden gem in Plymouth to going to be shut down perhaps by the end of summer or sooner. They once took time and pride into making their guests feel as if they were appreciative. So many guests will not come back due to the unqualified management staff. When we discussed with the manager he blamed it on a large party, and laughed it off ! While I can understand a large party, but the manager should let his staff know to explain to their customers any delays. Bad management! I will not be back again! I think it is awesome that this restaurant is still able to do outdoor seating. They have lots of heaters and it is an adorable set up. Their set up right now during the pandemic is wonderful and if your looking for somewhere to go while indoor dining is closed definitely recommend here. Seating is limited so you might have to wait longer than normal but while your waiting go walk around downtown Plymouth. read more
