Treats!
Nicole N.

Decided to try this local coffee spot and was not disappointed! First off I absolutely love their mission! This coffee house was started to help employ those affected by homelessness! That's an amazing cause! The staff when we walked in were so warm and friendly! It was as if you were walking into a place where everyone knew you, and that was a very welcome feeling! They also made sure to say goodbye! The space is a decent size for a coffee place. There were multiple tables and a couch to sit and enjoy your drink/treat. There was a little corner for kids to hang out as well! They also have records, so.many.records. that you could choose from and play! Very cool! My boyfriend got a regular hot latte and I got the fluffernutter latte with a substitute of oak milk iced! (They have dairy free options! Love that!!) We both agreed they were delicious! Not overly sweet on the flffernutter. Starbucks count your days because I'd rather support this local spot and it was equally if not more delicious!!! We really enjoyed this spot! I saw they are trying to expand, and I really hope they do!

Toasted Cold Brew

I got to try out Anoka's newest coffee shop with a friend today, and I was certainly not disappointed! I love a good Cold Brew, and the Toasted Cold Brew from Compassion Coffee certainly earns a spot high up on my list. The staff was super friendly and the service was fast. They even carried my drink out to me and apologized for almost overfilling the cup with heavy whip. Too much cream is literally never something that I would complain about, it was truly epic. The interior ambiance felt very modern with a lot of neutral colors, and a bright pop of blue from the coffee bar. There is a good amount of table seating so there was plenty of space even during a moderately busy time of day. They also have a nice couch area and a space geared towards kids. If you're a coffee lover I would certainly recommend checking this place out!

What a great spot! Coffee is delicious as well as reasonable, ambiance is cozy and the staff are incredibly friendly. Being lactose intolerant I appreciate that they don't charge extra for oatmilk. Best of all, they are committed to helping the homeless. Check them out! :)

We were both going to get it, but I decided to try the toasted cold brew (cold brew with a s'mores theme).

Walking in this place felt cozy. Like you would want to be here on a cold rainy fall day with a book! This place is very LGBTQ+ friendly. This place did have spider webs in the windows and heavy dust around the windows as well. That was disappointing. You can still be cozy and clean. The staff here left us very underwhelmed. They were having a conversation and finished the conversation before helping us. So we stood there feeling stupid and awkward while they wrapped up their social hour... while taking our order, the person kept her eyes locked on the computer screen. It just didn't feel friendly at all. I expect that kind of service from a Starbucks but not a local coffee shop. My boyfriend got a latte which tasted burnt. Neither of us were a fan. I can't remember the name of the drink but I got a white chocolate cherry I believe latte. It was pretty good. I did order my drink with oatmilk and it was an extra $1.50! Are you insane!? That's literally crazy. That is by far the most expensive swap to oatmilk I have seen! That alone almost pushed this to a one star review, but the drink did taste good. Overall, there are so many coffee shops In the area, I don't feel we will be back to this one.

I also recommend booking at least a week in advance. A friend said they couldn't go on said date on a Wednesday. I looked for that upcoming weekend and the weekend was sold out. FOOD: The food was delicious. Despite the tray looks small, I was full halfway in. I have no concerns or complaints of their food. Every pastries, sandwiches, and dessert were delicious. My favorite was the apple chai scone. I love their lemon curd. I love everything on their savory course. I haven't tried the dessert yet. I had to take it home because I had leftovers. The tea was delicious too! It is unlimited. They bring a pot to you. I tried the Mad Hatter Holiday (cinnamon, clove, cranberry & orange) and French Creme Brulee. Out of the two, my favorite was the Mad Hatter Holiday. The Creme Brulee was too weird for me as a tea. They offered sugar cubes, creme, and honey too. PARKING: They had a decent size parking lot on their property, as well as across the street. DRESS CODE: On their website, they mention tasteful, on the side of overdressed. I saw children in sundresses. Women wore jeans with a nice shirt. One guest had a gothic/rocker vibe with her black shirt, pleather skirt, tights, and boots. STAFF: Friendly, approachable, and professional.

There is plenty of parking in the mall's lot. There is handicap parking, but it is in front of the next store down. There are a couple of picnic tables outside, as well as a couple tables. The tables are pretty close to the drive-through so if that will annoy you, avoid them. Inside is bright and cheerful, good space with plenty of tables for a crowd. A few of the tables seemed to be a little closer to each other than they needed to be, but they were fine. When we first decided to go here, we thought it was a small, independent store, but it is a franchise. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind. There are two all gender bathrooms, cute art, and merch that includes bags of their coffee. My husband had the breakfast burrito and gave it a 7 out of 10. Apparently on the website it said it came with cream cheese, but that is an error because it did come with sour cream. He said it was good, not super fancy. It was cooked in a waffle iron so it was nice and hot. In fact I think everything here is cooked in a waffle iron. He also had a mocha which was very good and chocolatey. I had Nana's cinnamon rolls (also cooked in a waffle iron. They come either with two or with four. They are fairly small so I went with four, which ended up being about one more than I could eat.. They were good. There was a good amount of cinnamon, which is important to me, and the frosting was good. They were sweet, but not overly so. They were not very gooey, but they were good so that didn't matter. I had the "Cha Cha Latte". Which was very good. We will be back.

We opted for two of their signature drinks. They were good, a bit in the sweet side. They seem known for their mini cinnamon rolls which looked good but also very gooey and likely very sweet as well. They did have other breakfast options that looked good. It seemed it was more than a coffee shop but not quite a full meal spot if that makes sense. It's in a strip mall so plenty of parking and they recently put in a small patio which will be good come warmer weather. If I lived closer or am in the area I'd probably try again but likely won't go out of my way for a repeat visit.
