Dr holly de buys is the most negligent and irresponsible doctor I've been to. i had been to her before with a very clear case of eczema and she missed diagnosed it with a bacterial infection making it extremely painful and dry. I got a second opinion at a different dermatologist, and he fixed it right away. I had to return to this dermatologist due to insurance for accutane. i was seeing the other provider but she had a vacation during one of the monthly check ups you can't miss (which is totally understandable) but the events following having to go to Holly again we're extremely damaging to my body and vision. I was told by the other doctor the appointment before that I would not be going up on Accutane because I had lost weight in between appointments and was on a high enough does to stay at for the rest of my Accutane treatment. When holly was over an hour late for my appointment she seemed in an extremely rushed to get in and out and upped my dosage even though i had lost even more weight from the last appointment. The following weeks i started to have severe migraines and ended up in the er due to losing my vision and dehydration. When I return for a follow up appointment to tell them everything that happened, they said they would get the office manger in touch with me to figure out compensation for the er bill and potentially damage to my eyes. Its now 3 months later and i'm dealing with the damages to my body still and they won't get in contact with me. Im now dealing with chronic hives and swelling of my face and throat that have cost me a fortune. The doctor I'm going to for the hives thinks the connection could be from the overprescribed accutane. If you value yourself and your body you'll never consider this place. read more

Deserves a zero based on horrible manager Noelle Robinson and unskilled front desk staff. After having been a patient for several years, every single time waiting 45 minutes to an hour past the appointment time - whether arriving early or exactly on time for an appointment I am sick and tired of waiting around for provider care that does not work. Trying to treat the same issue and yet the providers do not know how to treat. Stay away from this place and find another. When I asked the front desk how long it would be when we would see a provider after having waited 45 minutes again today, Noelle the manager came out and could not answer. Likely she wanted to waste even longer of my time. When I asked a second time she said it sounds like you do not even want to see the provider. We will never step foot in this awful place ever again. read more

I just LOVE Dr. De Buys and her entire staff! Dr. De Buys is an amazing doctor and has a great heart for people. I love that she not only uses medicine, but has a holistic approach as well. The front office staff I think should get a bit more training. My experience at this office wasn't great. The nurse practitioner I saw was fine, but I decided to go with another dermatologist instead. I'm not a big fan of trying out a doctor's office (after researching a good doctor in the area) just to be seen by someone else. Also, trying to get information from the front office staff was difficult to say the least. Won't be returning to this location. read more

The Doctor is good. The staff, not so much. I started going to the good doctor to resolve skin cancer issues. The treatment was effective, but since my family has a history of various skin cancers I have twice a year appointments. I was called in September to be told that my October appointment would need to be moved due to the doctor not being in the office that day. Since I work I need the earliest appointment possible. This was a problem for rescheduling but the lady with a foreign accent managed to figure out an alternative appointment 3 weeks later. In October I was called again by the same lady. I was asked right out of the gate by the lady with the accent: "We have a patient that needs your appointment, since yours is a follow up visit do you really need it?" I explained that I'd already been bumped once. Silence on the other end of the phone. I had time to think during the silence. I noticed that this time she is not offering me another appointment. She's telling me not to be a patient of the good doctor anymore. Do I really NEED my appointment? I told her that the other patient could have my appointment. How could I not? What if it was critical to someone's survival? She said thank you and ended the conversation. That's it, I was booted by the receptionist from cancer care with my doctor. read more

This is truly a wonderful practice. Dr. Holly DeBuys has done a very good job of compiling a compassionate group of caregivers. This is not just a dermatological practice; it is a place where patients are cared for by a genuinely kind staff. I have visited this office 3 times now and I have had a great experience every visit. My first visit was for a skin check and I found out many things about my skin that I wish I had known early on in my life. You should definitely take the time to have your skin checked. The other two times that I visited I had some growths removed from my skin that were bothering me. They did a wonderful job and I no longer have any trouble with these areas. I would like to mention a few of their top employees. First off, I would like to mention the young black woman in the front office. I couldn't find her name on the website but she is amazing. She is a sweet woman and she ALWAYS greets me when I walk in. This makes me feel welcomed EVERY time. Thank you for your kindness! Charity and Melissa have treated me together and they were wonderful. Charity truly cares for her patients and she has an amazing manner that sets people at ease. Tiffany H. is a wonderful medical assistant. She is super easy to talk to and she helps to explain things in a way that is easy to understand. She is caring and helpful especially if you have any questions. Lastly, I would like to mention Dr. Holly DeBuys. Honestly, I don't know where to begin. She is professional, kind, and SUPER knowledgeable. I feel as though I am in very capable hands. Dr. Holly, you are one of a kind. A few days later, surprisingly, the Dr. called and encouraged me to return the next business day. I agreed, and was eager to see her, but after some time I decided not to. I don't want to remove the original post because it was an honest experience. I will add though, that I was not only surprised at the offices response, but thankful that they took my words seriously. Word of warning.....if you are late to your appointment by 11 minutes....even though you call ahead to let them know you are stuck in traffic and will be right there....., doesn't matter, NO EXCEPTIONS if over the 10 minute mark, you have to Reschedule. That's just great since it took over a month just to get on the Calendar. Funny how it is when a person shows up for their appointments on time, but the Doctors are late, we just have to live with that. **** No Compassion here....., and certainly no flexibility. I have nothing but great things to say. After looking around the web I found this place, which has great reviews compared to many of the offices in the surrounding area. The staff was welcoming and kind, they made me feel right at home. I was seen within 10 minutes of arriving (and I arrived on time). The nurse that took me back was very comforting and asked about my concerns carefully and concisely. Dr. Julie Forero saw me and immediately addressed my concerns with a calm and collected demeanor. What I appreciated most from this office was their cohesive call to be kind and reassuring in their approach, because for some of us, seeing the dermatologist when you have a concern can be very jolting. I had a negative experience with Compassion Dermatology. I fault myself for not researching into this business first. I have been fortunate to work with very good doctors over the years. Doctors that follow up with their patients after surgery. When I asked Dr. DeBuys why she did not follow up she said, "If patients have issues, they would contact us". She has every right to do business her own way. I personally prefer a medical practice that is proactive with their patients. The office manager is rude including her staff. I can't fault them either because they are just doing their job as instructed. My surgery was 10 days ago. I will be going to another Dermatologist recommended by my primary care physician to to have my stitches removed. read more

I have seen Dr. DuBuys a few times for various issues and have been very pleased with the treatment- both medically and personally. I was surprised by the amount of attention Dr. DuBuys gave me as most physicians have that mindset of getting you out of the office as soon as possible. She took the time, energy, and effort to make sure I was comfortable and answered all of my questions. The staff was friendly & polite. Appropriate name for the office as "Compassion" seems to the the guideline for how they deal with patients. I've also met Dr Forero and she seems pretty great too. After suffering horribly with psoriasis for 15 years, Dr. DeBuy cured me within 2 weeks. During the psoriasis years, I went to several dermatologists in the DFW area, some of them nationally known. I cannot say enough good things about Compassion Dermatology. They are so caring just as their name implies.
