I have been with Dr Raowas since June, 2023. I've been very satisfied with the treatment I've had, which is ongoing for multiple myeloma. I've also been with the City of Hope, which coordinates with CCC and I feel I've had the best treatment possible between both places. Yes, there were some minor glitches during the transition of ownership with scheduling and billing but it appears those issues were quickly resolved. Started coming here for treatment the end of 2019. Staff was so nice and attentive, never had a problem scheduling. Then in 2024 they merged with LA Cancer Network and it's gone downhill since. Impossible to get ahold of anyone on the phone. Some staff are no longer there. The ones that are, seem unhappy and you're wasting their time. Basically they took the compassion out of the name and their overall service and replaced it with network and very inconsiderate. I left a message for the office manger 2/10/25. Incorrect insurance carrier posted in file, so referral was denied. Request for test not submitted until after next appointment one month later, too late causing delay. The doctors are descent but the office staff and billing people are just plain horrible at their jobs. Impossible to get simple scheduling done right. Constantly having to deal with them trying to figure the same thing out week after week. I have to say that I have been receiving treatment by Compassionate Care center for 11 months now. My doctor is the best. Dr. Raowas has been with me all the way. He stays on top of my treatments and is one of the nicest people you would want to meet. After blood work is done he calls me at home to talk about the results. I have leukemia and and have to go in for infusions once a month. The place is a dream from the front office staff to the infusion room nurses. They always have your interests as top priority. One can hope that in the coming days this place will improve to become a five start treatment facility because their medical team are truly top notch in their care. It's their office personnel and receptionists who bring down my rating. I could not speak more highly of Doctor Brian Choi and his care. His beside manner is absolutely stellar and he never made us feel like we were asking a stupid question. He created an awesome treatment plan and thoroughly walked us through each step and what we could expect. My patient's cancer is now in remission and he has done a remarkable job in following up in the post symptoms and pain from the whole ordeal. On the other hand, if you do not have a caregiver or someone to help you out, the office personnel and receptionist are truly something else. I understand that they are very busy but they are also always very rude, short, and snippy with you. When you call them out on their mistakes, they become incredibly defensive. I wouldn't leave any one of them a message because they never return those voicemail's, so it does no one any good. My recommendation is to have an advocate or caregiver with a strong backbone to help you deal with the staff or you will just find yourself lost in the sea of their patients. read more

We were referred to CCC and we got Dr Raowas and Dina both were amazing at explaining and giving information on my moms cancer. Her cancer is on remission and is thanks to Dr Raowas, he is very knowledgeable and caring with my mom, he has been by her side when she has been admitted to the hospital, has called when we have specific questions and always uses frases that makes us feel safe and secure. Cavalier treatment, no explanations (please, cancer education was a joke, childish handouts of info you can get on line), and the people up front REFUSED to make any appointments for treatment, No answers, and refusal to make any appointments had me immediately switching to Kaiser as of Aug 1. So, I received zero actual treatment from CC, 10 minutes with the dismissive doctor, the kid giving out xerox copies. That is it. So, they apparently charged the insurance company for chemo treatment I NEVER RECEIVED. Would you call that fraud? I sure would consider it fraud, but I am no lawyer. What a cruel, uncaring joint. I wish I could give Compassionate Cancer Care of Riverside a 5 star review because it's a really nice facility and my oncologist, Dr. Choi, seems to know all about treating cancer. It's only because of Dr. Choi that I am giving 3 stars instead of 1. He spent a lot of time with me during my initial office visit - almost 30 minutes. He had to call me about something a few days later and that call was around 20 minutes. He answered all of my questions and didn't make me feel dumb for asking them. His office staff aren't as friendly but I will add that they are at the end of a remodel and adding another doctor and a couple more staff because they are getting a bunch of new patients. The staff would be nicer if they had time but they are rushed! The additional staff won't make a difference as there are more patients on the way. My biggest complaint is their chemo room: It's small and the staff have told me more than once that they don't accommodate for a loved one to be there during chemo sessions. They say you can have a visitor "if they have the room," which won't ever happen. I've been to several cancer centers before this one and have never been told a patient has to take chemo alone. I've heard it's wise to have someone there with you while you get chemo because the nurse has to look after many patients and might not notice right away if you're having a problem. I have numerous peculiar medication sensitivities so chemo is a terrifying aspect for me to face and I made sure the staff knew this but it didn't matter. I have only been to Compassionate Cancer Care in Riverside once and despite liking the doctor I'm going to get care somewhere else - preferably a place that exercises ***compassion*** to patients going through the most arduous and frightening battle of their lives. read more

Well where should I start about this place. It has been so much better since many of their staff have changed. First off with the reception area, super clean, very organized, & Netflix on TV Cynthia & Ethan, the receptionists, are both amazing, Im glad they replaced grump face Maggie. They greet you properly, with a smile, very generous & super helpful. They acknowledge you as soon as you walk in through the doors, they may be busy at times on the phones, but they still acknowledge you with a hand wave. Also, when you're leaving, they dismiss you with "have a good day" ; Even though most of the patients & families there are going through a rough time, they are very compassionate, they make you feel welcome, & they just seem to make your day better. Second, Dr. Reyes, is an amazing Hematologist/Oncologist, I highly recommend her, she is a superstar !! I feel like the company name, suits them very well ! Everything is in a timely manner, from making follow up appointments, to referrals being done quick, & the staff keeping you updated on anything that is needed.
