Install of new furnace and heat pump in late October of 2025 took two days. No heat at all on the first day, was told the second day that the heat did work and I spent the night cold with a space heater for no reason. I let it go; everyone makes mistakes. Was told on day two that the wiring was a "temporary fix" and that customer service would call me to schedule the fix. When Customer service called it was to ask for feedback. I asked about the wiring they said someone would call me back. That was November. They called in December and the same thing someone would call back. January the same thing. February the same thing. I sent an email complaining about their this to them in March. I also added that I still hadn't gotten my Duke Energy credit or the code to get my tax credit. After a few days of still not hearing back I called the service tech who had left me his card. He said he'd call me back later that day. He didn't but I did hear from customer service to schedule the wiring after 4 months of waiting. When that tech arrived, he had no idea why he was there so I had to explain for the fourth time what the "issue" was. He left the hole in my wall created by the other teams. Absolutely horrible!!! After scheduling an appointment, the day their suppose to show up I get a call saying there was an emergency and they have to reschedule. This has happened every year without fail. Not everyone can just take off from their jobs like that because you can't seem to stick to you schedule and need the customer to reschedule. I don't know if it gets any worse than them. Complete Comfort is probably the worst air conditioning company you could hire. We had a MINI SPLIT put in and they destroyed some of the components during installation. On top of that the units were always sweating and we didn't understand why- Complete Comfort left gaping holes behind them so that 120° heat in the attic was hitting the 65° cool of the unit - it was like the MINI SPLIT was raining all the time. When we complained they hung up on us. Do not use them under any circumstances you will regret it. read more

If I could give 0 or negative stars I would in a heartbeat. The issues we've had do not have to do with the unit, but rather the management and to an extent the techs (some have been great, some have been super lazy/unprofessional so hit or miss there). Our main frustration is that we have had several instances of scheduling appts for mandatory maintenance, scheduled the appt for someone to come out, and then we either get confirmation that they're coming and then they don't (and don't let us know they are no longer coming) or they call midday and say they're no longer available. That may be fine for those who WFH, etc. but when you've communicated you are taking off work to be there for their appts and they say they will be there and then don't show up or aren't sure if they're still able to show up it's a bit frustrating. One, maybe even two times of this happening I could deal with, but I crap you not this has happened like 5-6 times. They always apologize and say they'll be there next time and they never follow through. We communicated with a member of management who sounded promising on the phone about getting the issue resolved, were told he'd call us the next day with a resolution and never heard from him again. Plus there was an issue with our system leaking a few days after it was installed that a tech reported was from the previous tech doing a crappy job, so that was another appt that they eventually showed up for after two tries and that tech was thankfully able to fix the problem, but 2 additional visits could've been spared had it been done correctly from the get-go. All that to say, use ANYONE else. read more

I strongly recommend staying away from this company. They installed a new Traine HVAC system in my home and failed to replace the line set that had been the cause of the previous systems failure. They eventually came out this year and replaced it with the correct and appropriately sized line set, charging me an additional $2800. Three months later the system failed again, this time they came out and incorrectly diagnosed the problem as a control board asking me to pay an additional $1000 to put it in as the part itself was covered under warranty. The repair itself being a matter of unplugging the existing board and plugging in the new one. They actually expected to be paid in full before they'd do the repair. This is not how a reputable company behaves. This caused me to call a different company to come out and diagnose the problem, the second company correctly diagnosed the problem as a a control switch located on the outside unit. They made the necessary repair and at a much more reasonable and cost. Asking for payment in advice is not normal, not standing behind the products and services they've sold is a poor business practice and indicative of a disreputable company. Stay away! Our water heater started leaking in the middle of the night and we were able to get a technician out the next day to look at the problem. We unfortunately needed a whole new unit and they offered same day installation, which was great. The price point is pretty steep, but likely on par with others. $6,000 for a tankless water heater and we also got a water softener because they recommended it and said if we didn't have one, it might void our water heater's warranty. The product seems great and the response time was also five star, but the install process was a bit frustrating. It took most of the day and then the unit wasn't working, so it went into a second day which also took all day. The second technician indicated the first person working on it messed things up and was carless and should have caught the issue. We finally got everything fixed, but the three stars is for time it took and the inconvenience of not having it done correctly the first time. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. To start, lets dig into the initial problem, and details of why I called Complete Comfort out. I have a four year old furnace in a newly rennovated home. It was having problems keeping up with the drop in temperatures and the gas would shut off not incredibly long after starting up. The error code suggested it was overheating. The tech texts and misspells his own name. He arrives and is able to open the gate on a 4 foot high fence. He then walks into the house smelling of marijuana, and takes over an hour and a half and a half to come tell me the heat exchange needs replaced. He shows me a picture of some metal that has barely any rust as evidence that this unit needs entirely replaced and says that it was clogged with dust and debris. The quote I received to replace the heat exchanger was $8700! I refused service as the real problem is the gas flow was set too high causing the flames to rise to high causing the overheating which is a $100 dollar fix. No signs of rust, dust, nor debris in the unit at all. I tried contacting the service manager to discuss the situation, but they refused to return my calls. read more

I knew I needed a new furnace and Ac. my old system was 30 some years old. I did get a new system. All the paper work that I received was hand written on paper. He said His son had poured coke on his laptop. I never saw him again after the sale, even though he said he would come by the next day to see if I was Happy. I was told that the team would be here at 9am they were late and then I was told they would be done by 5 pm!! at 4 pm i asked how much longer I was told 2 hours they were still here after 10 pm I reached out to the salesman who told me he would be over at some point to bring the guys water and check in on them that did not happen but anyway he wouldn't respond quickly finally said I was in an attic I'm sorry they are still there he didn't know what was wrong he didn't even check he said "I will make this up to you!" They called me out of the blue to offer a free furnace tune up so I agreed and because I have an all electric system there is no real "tune up" it's just checking to see that it's running properly. Everything was in working order but gave me a quote for a whole new duct system which was thousands of dollars and then left my house without turning the air handler breaker back on which caused me to be in a very cold house for almost 24 hours before they sent someone over to find out what happened. Complete Comfort HVAC came to my home on June 26. We had noticed that when the AC would turn on, the house lights would flicker. 2 technicians arrived - one who was the 'real' technician (Dustin), and the other as trainee. They performed various tests while I stood and watched, making "doom and gloom" comments throughout. I developed the sense that they were evaluating how much they could sell me. In response, I emphasized (repeatedly) that I had a tight budget and no ability to do anything beyond that which was absolutely necessary to ensure the AC continued to run. They eventually advised me that the compressor was on its last legs, and that it "soon" would start tripping the breaker entirely for the house. They also advised that another team member, whom they **already** had called, would discuss my options for a new AC. They then went to examine the furnace, even though I had not indicated any problems with it. As we left the AC and came to the front to enter the garage, the other team member (O'Neill) was already there, sitting in his car, apparently doing paperwork. The speed of arrival was impressive. The technicians used a camera on a snake to examine the furnace, making concerned comments periodically. At the end they announced the furnace also was bad and entirely needing replacement. A performance then ensued whereby the trainee very formally asked O'Neill whether they could turn the switch back on for the furnace, and O'Neill agreed. O'Neill and I then sat down to discuss the overall situation. I emphasized that I had no funds to purchase both an AC and furnace; he presented 2 pads of paper on which he had already drawn up my options for replacing both; note, the only time he could have done this would have been before he had received the technician's assessment of my furnace. The remainder of the discussion could be best described as performance art. He presented photos that he claimed were evidence my "heat exchanger had separated", but the photos were so blurry they could have been anything. He also implied he was risking legal prosecution by allowing the techs to flip the switch to turn on the furnace, suggesting that death from carbon monoxide poisoning was imminent.There were weird calls to unknown third parties to "write down on a list" that because I "was the only person today who had been nice to him", O'Neill was going to offer me a deal for duct-cleaning in addition to a marginally discounted price on the second most expensive full system; there were weird comments about how I do not look my age (I most certainly do, and I don't particularly care one way or another anyway); there were emphatic comments about how Trane is the best possible system, until suddenly there was a complete reversal and a Daikin system was the best possible system. Most entertainingly, there was even the sudden recollection that he had an opening for installation the very next day so that I could have my system installed tomorrow if I just buy now... Throughout the conversation, O'Neill emphasized that my actual monthly payment would be very low, holding up his phone periodically to show the calculation that my payment would be "only" [this amount] per month - leaving me to point out that this would be based on a 15-year loan. At the end, I advised that I don't make decisions of this size on the snap, and he left, leaving his cell number so that I could call before 9 pm and secure the great deal he was offering. I then obtained 2nd opinions. Nothing was wrong with the furnace. I questioned whether the heat exchanger could be "separated" and was told that while this was a potential concern with older furnaces, there was no sign of this with my furnace. This aligned with my sense, since we have not experienced any of the early symptoms of carbon monoxide leakage. The only thing wrong was that the AC was filthy and a $270 capacitor was going bad. That now has been replaced, and the flickering houselights no longer are occurring. To say that I am horrified by the entire sequence would be an understatement. I sought evaluation of a very specific symptom, and made very clear that my budget was limited. The response from the company was a mind-blowingly aggressive attempt to sell me a product that went far beyond my needs, far beyond my stated finances, and was ultimately, apparently, entirely unnecessary. Put another way, the company was perfectly willing to send me into debt to the tune of $23,796 for a 15-year, 6.9% loan on $14,800 system that already was overpriced. I should add that almost every day I receive a text or call offering a new bid - which turns out to be a lower quality system with what appears to be a comparably large profit margin. In short - my experience with this company was that I was on the receiving end of an extremely hard sell tactic from the moment their technicians arrived. Anyone seeking this company's services should, in my opinion, be extremely wary. read more

I was 5 min late to a shop meeting at 730AM, due to having to drive my own personal vehicle, which, keep in mind, overheated while I was asked to run service for them from my own truck a few days prior. I had to use my own gas money also.There was no conversation had, just simply cut, with no understanding in regards to me having a single vehicle to make due with between my wife and I, and our 2 children. RECOMMEND AGAINST. They botched the installation of my furnace. Errors were so obvious that I could see them, even though I know little about furnaces. For example, the condensation drainage line was installed in a way that obstructed access to the filters, so it was impossible to reach and replace the filters. Also, the installer forced the insertion of my electronic air filters in the wrong direction and damaged the unit. To their credit, they returned and fixed everything as best they could, but it will never be right. Very unreliable in keeping appointments. Three trips to get the job done. Austin was aggressive in trying to unclog our kitchen drain. No charges until the drain is cleared he said. His determination in finding that clog really impressed me. It was determined that the clog is far from our kitchen. Predatory Sales Practice towards Senior Citizens I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that occurred on April 18, 2024, during a routine HVAC inspection conducted by Complete Comfort at my residence. The technician reported two issues: a alleged crack in the furnace heat exchanger and an elevated static level of 0.8, which he claimed could lead to gas leaks. Notably, the technician had summoned his supervisor without my knowledge or consent. The supervisor arrived towards the end of the inspection and presented me with a list of recommended equipment and ductwork replacements, totaling up to approximately $45,000. He insisted that the furnace be shut off due to the purported static level issue. I was fortunate enough to exercise caution and sought a second opinion from another HVAC company. Their senior technician conducted an inspection the following day and found all the issues reported by Complete Comfort to be completely false. Bait and switch on quote for installation of brand new AC/Heater replacement. Quoted me one price but charged me another after installation. The heater is not working as it should after about 2 months since the installation of brand new equipment, they will not service it claiming I owe a balance for the initial service which is driven by their bait and switch sales tactic and I won't pay the difference from their initial quote. They never sent me copies of the contract that I signed nor receipt after the installation and it's been over two months, this is totally unprofessional. I've tried numerous times to explain what their salesperson did and asked for the owner to contact me but never received a follow up. Because they still claim I owe them a balance and won't service the heater they installed, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. For 7 days I was left with no heat, a collapsed, lung, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, pacemaker, diabetes, and severe asthma among other health issues and they refused to help me. I am not the only person to have experienced the ruthless and high pressure tactics of Complete Comfort Air. Repeated calls just to get someone to respond . Let me preface this complaint with the following; the temperature on the day in question (8-26-24) was 94-95 degrees. I am almost 80 years old and my dog is 8. When I awoke , I noticed that the house was a bit warm. I called several HVAC companies and CCH&C was first to respond. It was about 10:30 am by the time that Sean arrived. He checked out my thermostat, looked at the furnace and then proceeded outside. The fan on my a/c was not running. Sean removed the cover and first he checked the capacitor with his meter and immediately said "It's bad". (I built this home 11 years ago.) Sean also felt the top of my cover and said "feel this". I did and it was hot. Sean said that it was likely that my fan was bad and needed replacing. I also want to point out that I am retired and on a fixed income. I said this to Sean and asked how much these two items would cost. Sean said the capacitor was several hundred and the fan was 400 or so. More than once Sean hinted or said that I would be better off buying an entire new heating and a/c unit. Out of curiosity I asked "how much" and Sean said $12,000 which I immediately said it was out of the question. Sean said the I could finance the repair cost for about $40 per month. I said I was interested and he said he would need to get one of his superiors involved. He called one and asked if he could stop by and the response was "I'm having lunch, call ?". I forget the man's name but once he arrived (about 15 minutes), Sean met him at his car. They talked for over 20 minutes (reminder...it's in the 90's and I am beginning to feel the effects of the heat.) In hind site it's now clear that the ? and Sean were just getting their stories straight. The man identified himself as the Area or district sales manager. He was very slick. He asked a lot of personal questions for the purpose of setting up credit. This included my social security number, driver's license as well as how much I owed on my home with I thought was odd. He submitted the info and very quickly said my credit was rejected which was surprising. After some conversation, it was hinted that they were going to put the cover on and leave. I was under duress with the heat I had no choice but to fix it. The sales manager pecked on his laptop getting me a price for the repairs and finally said $2,100 to replace the fan and capacitor. I said I couldn't handle that so he pecked on his laptop again and said "are you a veteran, police or fire or first responder?" I said "no, just old". Sales manager said "let's just say you're a first responder, that's a $400 discount". I thought it was pretty low to misuse the discount in that way. In any case, the total was now $1,700 and I am really feeling the heat. I felt trapped. I maxed out three credit cards to cover the cost. Sean then asked his boss "can I go get the parts now?". The boss said yes and left. I asked Sean how long it would take and he said about ten minutes each way for the parts and then about 30 minutes to install. Sean said "you'll have air soon". As soon as Sean left I got my dog from the house and we sat in the car with the a/c running. after about 30 minutes I called Sean to see where he was. No answer. I called the company and expressed my concern and that Sean was not even answering his phone. She said she would reach out to Sean. Sean immediately call me and said "he was about 45 out". I asked why he said 10 minutes each way and he said he had to go to a different parts house. He said it would be about 45 minutes. I am really pissed off but at least my dog and I are in the car with a/c. When Sean returned, as if nothing had happened he said "I'll have your air on in 30 minutes. About 45 minutes later the air was restored.On 8-28 I called the office when I discovered that I wasn't given a receipt or any paperwork and to complain about the price I was charged after researching the same repairs made by different companies and seeing MUCH lower costs. In fact, a new capacitor, fan and labor in all cases was between 400-500. I spoke with Office Manager Cara Kelsay. Cara said "oh I'm so sorry. I'm with you. My General Manager has left for the day but I'll speak with him first thing tomorrow. I promise you that we'll take care of you. You'll be happy". Cara called the next morning and it was if she was a different person. She was firm and rude and said "you agreed to this and we will be doing nothing". BTW, I can document these conversations. I have filed a complaint with BBB and will pursue all legal means. Read the reviews and BUYERS (especially SENIORS) BEWARE!!! I'm not sure if this goes for the whole company or just for the technician we got (Andrew Maze), but we requested an AC cleaning and he came out and disassembled our WORKING unit to "inspect" it, then told my wife that it wasn't working anymore and that "it was a good thing I came out here today because it just stopped working". He tried to tell us the capacitor on our blower went out and we wouldn't have any AC once he left, unless we paid $360 for him to replace it. He allegedly showed my wife the faulty piece and urged her to replace it, claiming he'd use a temporary one to finish his inspection. She told him to put everything back, do the cleaning and leave, and when I got home I examined the unit myself. He simply unplugged the switch from the unit itself to make it stop working, and after I removed the covers I found there were cobwebs over the screws for the capacitor he allegedly "temporarily replaced". I put the switch in, turned it on and it worked fine. I understand the money is in the commission, but this is just scummy. He was asked to leave multiple times and blatantly lied and sabotaged our equipment. We got no receipt or invoice afterwards and the whole experience was just sketchy read more

The first indicator that there would be an issue presented itself when I first scheduled an appointment with the company. I scheduled an appointment on a Friday afternoon, which was to take place the following Monday, between Noon - 4:00 p.m. Despite having received both an email and text message confirmation, I found myself without a service technician by 2:00 p.m. that Monday. I called only to find out that my appointment had been cancelled, due to not answering a confirmation call that morning. The associate then went on to offer to reschedule the appointment for another day. As I had already taken off work for my previously confirmed (two ways) appointment, I requested that a technician be sent out the same day. I was then rescheduled for a 3:00 - 5:00 window. That time, unfortunately, came and went as well. I called the company again, at 5:00 p.m., and received no answer. I then received a text message stating that my appointment had been rescheduled, yet again, to a 5:00 - 7:00 window. I finally received a call from the technician at 6:07 p.m, that they were en route (for the 12 - 4 appointment). The technician proceeded to ask what the issue was (no hot water in the water heater), take a picture of the serial number, do an online search to determine that the water heater was still under manufacturer's warranty, and declare that the unit needed to be replaced. At no point did the technician check the unit for damage/corrosion/leaks, check the breaker at the house to determine if it had been tripped, or try to reset the unit using manufacturer's instructions (despite the manufacturer stating that all of this should have taken place). I'm certain that you can imagine my frustration by that point. The company then reached out with a cost estimate for the repair that far exceeded retail prices. They are currently charging $75 for a drip pan, which retails for $20, and are also charging $300 for a Thermal Expansion Tank, which retails for approximately $50 (these prices do not include installation). Needless to say that I firmly believe that the company is not only unscrupulous in their dealings, but also charging customers much more than the cost of the products which they are installing. I reached out to contact the company (notably frustrated, after 5 days without hot water), and was met with curt rudeness by the associate answering the phone. Once it became clear that I would not be paying these exorbitant prices for the company's services, the associate was increasingly rude, including cutting me off in speech, and disconnecting before the end of the call. I seldom write negative reviews, because I know how they can affect business. Unfortunately, I have no choice BUT to share this information with the public, so that people can make an educated choice about their service providers. While their installation services may be top notch (I have not experienced such, to say for certain), their customer service leaves much to be desired.
