I had a root canal and crown about a year ago and the crown popped off. It was a new lady and she had quiet the time but everyone has to learn so I went with it.I called to get them to cement it back and the receptionist told me it would be yet another $206. After I paid $2300 for their in house "plan" which I never got a call to do the "free" cleaning by the way. I think it is bad dentistry to not stand by your work. I called another local dentist and it was $50 bucks to cement my crown back on as well. Beware they are only out for MONEY!!! read more

I've heard good things about this dentist office but my first visiting was horrible. We schedule my son an appointment for 11am. The receptionist told us we canceled which we did not. Then try to say it was at 10am when we told her we did not cancel. I called about being able to go back with my son then I confirmed the appt. My husband called to confirm as well. I have been to several other dentists in the area and some of them were competent, but I always felt like a number in a process. Not so at Complete Dental Arts. Dr Chaney and his staff are really friendly and treat you like a person. They call you by name and make you feel very comfortable. They provide clear explanations of all recommended procedures and costs and get your approval before they do anything. They don't overbook appointments causing long waits like other places. I've never left a review for a dentist before, but I suppose there is truly a first time for everything. Buckle up, this is a long one. In spite of the strangeness of the location I decided to give Dr. Cheney a shot. He was cordial if not prompt at my first visit. Since I was pregnant no x-rays were taken. When I went back x-rays were taken and I was told I needed a crown. Went in for the crown--no problem. Halfway through the procedure Dr. Cheney stated that he wouldn't be able to finish because I needed a wisdom tooth removed. I was obviously upset and left a Facebook review expressing my frustration. Dr. Cheney's wife called me to apologize and give me her cell number, but really, it wasn't as though I could go back in time and not have half a tooth removed. I went in a few weeks later for pain in the tooth--pain that began when he did the temporary crown and did not abate. Dr. Cheney suggested that I had ground a hole in the temp; he did not repair it. When I asked why it hurt the entire time he asked if I'd taken Tylenol for it. Against my better judgement I went back to Dr. Cheney to be fitted for my permanent crown. He had difficulty numbing me, and gave me an anecdote about his time in the military working on a guy who had done a lot of cocaine. Apparently he was also difficult to numb. I've never done any drugs, so the implication was intriguing. When I left that appointment I scheduled a cleaning for a local dentist who didn't appear to have bribed reviews on google. I decided to complete the crown work with Dr. Cheney since I'd already paid for it. After waiting for the crown for almost a full month I updated my Facebook review. It was then that Dr. Cheney composed a letter stating he couldn't see me or my husband. In his letter to my husband he had to make something up so he didn't seem like a thin skinned dotard, so he claimed my husband refused treatment. My husband hated Dr. Cheney, so we were bewildered at this accusation but the lie seemed in keeping with his personality. Dr. Cheney also proceeded to give my information to another dentist who called me asking about a root canal. Dr. Cheney denied (yes, he lied) sending this info. I am filing grievances with the insurance company and the Georgia Association of Dentistry. His work is shoddy and his skin is thin--he has no desire to be a good dentist. He wants to be well liked without putting in any work. Dentists are a dime a dozen--spend your coin elsewhere. read more

First of all I don`t take free bees from no one! Now. I have been going to Dr. Cheney for four plus years. I have had 3 or 4 other Dentists in my life. I think Dr Cheney is a First Class. He has done a lot of work with me. And I have always been treated like I am special and I am not special. Great work and great staff . I moved to Newnan four years ago and have seen Dr. Cheney for all of that time. I've never had an issue,whether for cleanings, deep cleanings, or extractions. One of those was an emergency and he saw me the same day, and when I arrived, it was clearly a very busy day for them. I would have no misgivings about recommending him. read more

I went to Dental Arts in Newnan GA to see DR. Charley Chaney while my dentist was out of town and he was the emergency contact. My tooth was was in pain and need a root canal and a cap. Dr. Chaney booked be in with a 2 hour window for the root canal l which I am very appreciative of. I was going on vacation very soon a I needed a temporary crown. The mold was taken and a temporary was put in place. When the crown came back it did not fit correctly and had to be sent back. I went back for the second fitting and had it bonded it to my tooth. 2 - 3 weeks later. I went to my general dentist for my cleaning. My hygienist felt a gap between my crown and gums and was concerned of how to keep that area clean. My dentist also noticed this during the exam and while during the polishing the crown came off. My dentist was going to charge me for a new crown and I called DR Chaney and asked for a refund on my crown which was wrong and did not stay on. End result is that my dentist is not going to charge me for a new crown. Thanks to Dr. Stiehl my current dentist for correcting this error. It seems that Dr Chaney does not take responsibility for his work. I would not personally recommend this dentist. Also during my visit I noticed that his staff was working in my mouth without gloves which is a OSHA violation. read more

I have been using this dental practice for about 4 years. My family and I had been happy with Dr. Cheney. Recently, I took our 7 year old in for a regular exam. To begin with, the new front desk receptionist comes off rude and condescending. Second, the office has evidently changed their policy and no longer allows parents to accompany their children. We were not notified of the policy changes until they took our child back. Against my judgment, I let her go back without me. She was obviously scared. After the exam, they came out to the waiting area to tell me she had 2 cavities that would need filling. No Xrays were done during this exam. I feel like the office could have contacted parents to make them aware of the policy changes. I will be finding a practice that is more considerate of children and parents. With as many people who are afraid of dentists, I don't believe this practice does anything to alleviate those fears. According to the office, the change came about because of HIPPA. However, I currently have 21 years in the medical field (advanced practice RN) and HIPPA has been around longer than the last 6 months. read more
