Clean office the staff is very nice and can get your questions answered in a timely manner. I've been coming in to see Dr. Shearin and I'm satisfied with the services I've received. I normally don't care for dentist but he's patient and understanding when it comes to those with anxiety. I'd recommend this office to others but they're also available with other offices throughout the city. Also if you're trying to get a Saturday appointment it's super hard to get in because those appointments fill up fast but luckily they're open late on weekdays Here to get a temporary filling taken out and the permanent put in. I'm a little disappointed I don't have the usual assistant because she is always on top of things. No notes are in my file so I'm in here telling this assistant today everything that's been done to my mouth and the issues I've experienced. His demeanor isn't the best I'm not sure if it's too early for him or not but it's a little unsettling. Just waiting for Dr Shearin now who's memory is really good with myself and others I know. read more

Not a good experience. I had a bad tooth and the dentist said he might affect the neighboring tooth. I was young and not sure. As a dentist, it would have been nice for him to talk me through pulling 2 teeth, but he was like "whatever". I've regretted it ever since. He later put a crown on my lower tooth and there was such a big gap between the 2 teeth, that food constantly got stuck. I would not go back or recommend this place. read more

The quality of care at this location is Great! I've been a customer at this location for years, meaning over 6 years. The dentist, Dr Sherrian & staff is fantastic. They are attentive, caring, professional & prompt. The billing department is another thing lately. They don't check with your dental insurance companies in a timely manner to let the customers know their out of pocket expenses. They give you an estimate based upon what that insurance company should pay based upon their charges per procedure without getting confirmation from the insurance. Therefore, you end up paying your out of pocket from the estimate & not based upon the actual cost the insurance will pay. They call you the day before your scheduled appt to let you know that the insurance denied your claim. So you end up having to pay the difference in full before they will service you. You then have to push your follow up appt out further to come up with the additional fees. Why they call you a day before your appt is bad billing management, if you ask me. Why they don't check with the insurance companies weeks/months prior to is also not good billing practices either. I called the corporate office to file a complaint to no avail, left 2 messages, no one called me back. The BBB is next. Will be changing providers come 2025! I hate to but I have no options. read more

Don't be fooled by their long hours. They are going to reschedule every appointment you make to 6 months further out, they will mess up your billing, especially if you have a Sr and Jr. You will be lucky to get your teeth cleaned once a year with all the reschedules. read more

What can I say other than I LOVVEEEE MRS. AGNES!! I have been going to this office for over 7 yrs now and they are the best! I work for a dental management company and I just refuse to cheat on my hygienist. Whenever I have to go in, I make sure that it is a day when she is there. Not to say that all of the ladies and gentleman there are not just as good, but I have a special relationship with Mrs. Agnes. I was just there this morning. While this is my regular dentist I just wanted to say that my visit this morning was exceptional. I had a broken tooth and they were able to fit me in the next morning. I always get the best care there but Dr. Shearin was kind and quick. I was nervous about losing my tooth and I left feeling more informal. His assistant Yessica was the absolute best! She has such a calming spirit and went above and beyond to make me feel at ease. If you have anxiety about going to the dentist this is the place for you. read more

This review is for both the Lithonia and Jonesboro locations, since I regularly use each and there's significant crossover between the two. This place is really a mixed bag. On the plus side, it's pretty easy to get an appointment, and they always have time and space for emergencies. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful; I feel like they actually care about me as a human being and not just a number. They're also willing to work with you on payment options, and give you a clear estimate before starting any work. So why two stars? A couple of reasons. The actual quality of the dental care varies greatly. I've had really excellent, first-rate experiences with doctors who take their time and explain everything. But I've also had a couple less than stellar experiences. The worst was when I got a filling. After the novacaine injection, my heart started racing and I felt dizzy. I told the doctor, but he did not seem concerned. He disappeared out of the room immediately after the filling, leaving me to google what was going wrong. Not exactly A+ dentistry there. They also tend to be chaotic and disorganized with scheduling and billing. On one occasion, a doctor called me to cancel my appointment not once, but twice, on the day of the appointment. And then they charged ME for the missed appointment! I was once overcharged for an appointment. Rather than refunding the money, they applied it as a credit to my account. So guess what happened when I got charged for the appointment the doctor canceled? Bingo. They took the money. That was really the final straw, because I can't afford to throw away money on dental care. If they got their act together administratively and were more consistent with the quality of doctors they offer, though, I'd be a patient for life. read more

I came here in emergency for broken tooth on Saturday had insurance issue and ended up paying $300 for one broken tooth to be pulled. PULLED......$300. I have no one to blame but myself but I was in so much pain I had no choice. I would not recommend this place at all. I feel like they took advantage of my insurance issue and exploited that. read more

1. Took me as a walk-in at 5pm on a Monday. 2. Treated me like a human being, not a number. 3. Apologized for my wait, which wasn't even that bad. 4. Talked to me like I had some knowledge of why I was there, but didn't expect for me to be a graduate of dental terms academy. 5. Made me completely comfortable (there was a TV above the chair!). 6. Completely explained all of my problems and every treatment option available to me. 7. Charged a reasonable fee, as quoted. 8. Quoted fees for treatment, and then explained all payment options. 9. Advised where I could get my prescribed antibiotics for free! read more

I've seen Dr Shearin at the Jonesboro office a few times and found his work to be excellent and his personality to be calming. I typically shy away from dental offices with multiple locations because often I feel like I'm just a patient number on an assembly line, but Dr Shearin doesn't make me feel that way. He has always listened to my concerns and recommended great treatment options for me, I trust him and the team at the Jonesboro location. read more

Pretty terrible place and experience. I got a filling and couldn't chew on that side of my mouth for two months. It has been maybe a year and that same filling is literally falling out of my mouth. Poor service, quality, and workmanship. I would have rather had it pulled than to have it redone by them. read more

Today was my first time going to this dentist, I was referred by my cousin... after going to two different dentists and feeling uncomfortable with their opinion about my teeth I was completely amazed at the kindness and professionalism this staff has. I got my wisdom tooth taken out the same day and I'm simply happy with the way the assistant and the dr took care of me! I highly advise anyone to check this place out! I wish I had read these reviews BEFORE I visited this godawful place! I was in a lot of pain from a toothache and my dentist does not have weekend hours. They stressed to be there at least 15 minutes before my 10AM appointment to fill out the paperwork. This was pointless since it was AFTER 12 before I saw the dentist.The dentist extracted the tooth, and it took almost 30 minutes for him to get it out, while never getting me completely numb. He left a huge gaping hole in my mouth (which he stitched close) and a huge hole on the OUTSIDE of my gum and never said a word to me about it! The next day and subsequent days I was in excruciating pain and a swollen jaw that looked like I had come out on the losing end of Floyd Mayweather's fist! This was not the first tooth I had extracted, but never have I experienced anything like this, and it wasn't even a wisdom tooth! This location was not the nearest one to my home, but I was advised I would have to drive all the way back to this location. I had to intention of letting this dentist touch me EVER again! I think he was a rookie dentist, and had no idea what he was doing! I was going to allow another dentist to look at tooth to see why I was still in so much pain 5 days later. The office called me back and stated the office was closing earlier than the posted hours and I would have to reschedule my appointment. I asked if the dentist would call in the rx for ibuprofen and they said no, I would have to drive all the way across town just to pick up the rx in person! I will allow ALL of the teeth to fall out of my mouth before I patronize any of the DentFirst locations ever again! They are unprofessional with the inconsistency of the billing I should have been charged per my insurance company(upcharging), hours which are different from those posted on the website and inferior dentists! read more

i rec'd very poor service from this place. the dentist was a quack and incompetent and the front office staff was rude and inefficient. i had words with one of the ladies at the front desk because she told me she would call me back in 20 minutes and the whole day went by and she never called back and i was suffering in toothache pain and just not in a very good mood. so i called back and was very annoyed and i stated to her that she was supposed to call me back in 20 minutes but never called..she was not very nice and stated that she had been busy. the next time i called back for something another young lady answered the phone and when i gave my name..she offered to take a message and then stated "you will get a call back but just to let you know it wont be in exactly 20 minutes". well i never asked her for a call back in 20 minutes so it was obvious that my name was being trashed around the office and this other chick was now mocking me. i changed to a different dentist office shortly after and im very happy there.i have no plans to ever return to dent1st! read more
