I did not receive a thorough exam. I've spent a lot of time in a dentist chair over my 68 years and he may be the worst in just the fact that he didn't communicate with me at all. Hopefully he doesn't treat all his patients like this and maybe he was having a bad day. The dental hygienist was very nice and did a good job. The office personnel were very friendly and helpful. They did tell me my insurance wouldn't cover any of the dental costs but upon returning home home I call BCBS and they do cover 50% even though Ocean Drive Dentistry is not in their group. I don't agree with the added 20.00 for PPE and I wasn't advised of this charge in advance.

However, when I was taken to the room, the assistant said it would actually be $309. When I asked why, she said, "It's just a $10 difference," which is not true -- it's $19. I told her I would be paying cash (no insurance) and that I didn't appreciate the price changing before we even started. She said she would go check the price and never came back. After 40 minutes, I went out myself and found her just standing there. She said they had increased the prices and that the front desk "didn't know." Then the doctor, Robert Huggins, came in and said prices were higher because I made the appointment "a month ago." That's not true -- I scheduled it three days before. He apologized and agreed to honor the original $290 price, and even said he'd do it for $280. He gave me anesthesia at 11:10 a.m. and said he would start in a few minutes. But he didn't come back for almost an hour -- until 11:55. By that time, the anesthesia was already wearing off. When I told him this was unacceptable, he said, "You're right, I should've told you to come next week, because I'm too busy today." Then he gave me two options: he said he could either start right now and finish everything in 15 minutes, or reschedule me for another day. So basically, after sitting in that chair for three and a half hours, hungry, numb, and ignored, he suddenly decided my treatment could be rushed in just 15 minutes. That's not normal, and it's absolutely unacceptable. Even though it was an emergency for me and I decided to let him fix the tooth that day, I left the clinic completely drained and disappointed. No one offered water, no one apologized. At the end, he gave me a $50 discount, and I ended up paying $618 in total. I will never come back to this place again -- and I don't recommend it to anyone who expects respect, honesty, and professionalism

"Dr. Arnette and his staff were professional, efficient, and incredibly accommodating during my visit. I reached out to Dr. Arnette's office for an emergency procedure while on vacation, not expecting to be treated the very same day and with such great service. His staff were welcoming and friendly, and Dr. Arnette was able to complete the procedure in less than 20 minutes. This visit completely saved the remainder of my vacation, as I would have otherwise needed to return home in hopes of visiting my normal dentist. After the numbing set in he came in and began drilling on the left side of my mouth. And then filled the tooth and drilled once more all without numbing. I got out of there as fast as I could and came back the next day they were open to confront them on the problem which they completely denied. They were supposed to see my two-year-old son next month but I wouldn't let that doctor get anywhere near my child's mouth.
