Greg was recommended by a friend of mine, to transform my ugly backyard, into an image that I always wanted our yard to look like. I had interviewed four other Landscapers, unfortunately they were either extremely expensive, or they would try pulling a fast one on me. I had seen Greg's work at a home that he had done, it was a front yard landscape and it looked fantastic. I called Greg, he arrived right on time, he called when he was on his way, so I could be expecting him. They over promise and are very slow to get things done, we started with them in June 27 to have our front yard turf done and have it completed within a month as they told us and here we are in October it's only half done. Greg keep saying will stop by this week then next week then nothing for month. I hope others don't run into this as one other person beside me reported this as well. I am sure he does great job if he can get to it. As friendly advise please finish what you started before taking 4-5 other projects at the same time or get additional help to keep what you promised to deliver on time. Before Greg, I got eight to nine quotes from different Landscape contractors and none of them seemed up to the challenge of making over my front and backyards. The quotes I received from them was out of this world but their prices were just not in the budget. My back retaining wall started to fail during the recent rainstorms and I was concerned it was going to fall into my neighbors yard. I reached out to three contractors for competing quotes and while these guys were not the cheapest, they were very close in terms of the market quotes I got but communication was great, I was told a detailed plan of how they would reengineer the wall to prevent failure again, and a timeline to completion. They were able to get the job done sooner than promised and when they realized they needed to upgrade to bigger wood posts after finalizing a cost and design I was not charged any extra costs. We had high hopes when we began working with this company, however we were left entirely disappointed. We reached out in March about completing some rock work, installing a putting green and replacing part of our fence. We were told work should take about a week and would start May 2nd. Work didn't start until the 7th and the person who came probably worked a total of 4 hours before leaving piles of dirt and grass in our yard. No one showed up again to our house until May 13th and they only cleared the grass and dirt then left for the day. On the 14th our fence was removed in the morning and once again workers left for the remainder of the day leaving our backyard and pool completely exposed to our neighbors and our own small children. Someone finally returned at 6:30pm to put up a couple pieces of plywood as a makeshift fence. On the 15th, we had workers coming and going all day doing minimal work and still no fence by the end of the day. At that point we reached out to Greg who tried offering us a discount and assured us that workers would be at our house by 8:30am the next morning and that the putting green and fence would be done by end of day. Not surprisingly, no one was at our house until 10:30 and only the fence was complete, no putting green. Within 2 weeks not even 50% of the job had been completed. At that point we decided to go with another company who finished the job plus additional work within a week. Overall this was a very unprofessional experience for us. After a whole year of waiting for our ice plant to spread out in our front yard, we realized it had been not properly planted, due to our gardener's lack of knowledge. So, we began interviewing landscapers, who were experts at laying down artificial turf, in addition to having a plan to change plants and add lighting. We had considered hiring a turf installation company, but they could not or could do little else. We found that those companies did not provide the value a full service landscaper could. So, we narrowed our choice down to two full service landscapers. We chose Complete Landscaping, not only because they had the best quote, but because they also seemed to provide the best value and helped us make good material choices for a low maintenance yard. Greg Horton, the owner, was very good about communicating during the two months since we'd met him and up to completely finishing the project. He is a true professional and worked on and oversaw his three crewmen, one of which is his brother, Daniel. Both of them were excellent throughout the few days they were here. We share a common space of landscaping with our neighbors who had originally planted everything when the homes were new. Not wanting to disturb their hard work, I asked that a dividing board be installed closer to our driveway, avoiding any plants. We added rock to our side, so a separation board was needed. My neighbor felt that the unevenness of the shared area could possibly cause potential issues with future owners and recommended we move the board to center. They did not mind moving a plant or two, so we asked Greg to move the board. He did so, without any questions or reservations. He was a true professional about redoing it. Greg took before and after photos and sent photos and videos of their progress. That was very helpful and appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Greg to anyone, based on my experience. If you're thinking of hiring Complete Landscaping, know that they have at least a two month waiting period, and that's during late fall. We had a medium sized backyard project by our standards with a lawned area, walkways, lawn edging stones, tangerine tree plants and some limestone and gravel areas. Added to this was the lawn irrigation. Greg planned the project for us, making suggestions for the type of grass, the stones, the paving stones and sourcing all the materials beforehand. The start of the work was planned in 3 weeks. We were very pleasantly surprised that Greg even started the work 3 days early. The planned working time of 2 days was also adhered to. They started with a thorough clearing out of the garden. Then the old earth with the weeds was removed and the curbs laid. On the first night everything looked so much better than before. The next day, the flagstone pavements were laid and the turf laid. Then there are side areas with Gravel and Limestone, of course with weed control. Greg and his team of three worked quickly and neatly and in the end everything was left clean and tidy. Even a few extras were taken care of without being charged extra. All 4 worked concentrated, professional and were very friendly and hardworking. The materials used are of high quality and look good. Greg and his crew removed half of the lawn on our sloping side yard, bordered it with paver stones cemented in so they won't move, rerouted the sprinkler system, added boulders, plants and black lava rock.
