Very fast and efficient. I did a few price estimates with other companies and his was the fairest amount. He doesn't do plants, which isn't a big deal. Gives me time to research what i want and probably have DIY.
I only have good words to say for Ve and his Team, I had looked into more than 5 quotations from different landcaping companies and so far his is the most affordable one that aligns to our budget and plan, he is open to working within your budget, is not a push over and very easy and professional to work with. The entire team is very efficient and Ve is very detailed and hands on. They finished the construction fast and communicates properly. He even did some additional works for free when we added a few minor features. So far we are very impressed with how he transformed our backyard from a complete dirt to a relaxing area at a fraction cost! Highly recommended and will definitely work with them when we are ready for the retaining wall. Good job guys and thank you to the whole team. It's a very pleasant experience.
Ve has been easy to work with. They did all of this and concrete in the backyard in two weeks. They not only did the concrete hardscape including rerouting our original steps, they also did the wood retaining wall, planting the plants and adding rocks as well as repair some fencing. They work really hard and very responsive. Thank you Ve!
Ve's crew did an excellent job transforming my messy front yard into a modern, hardscaped space. The team built a retaining wall, created a walkway with large concrete slabs, laid artificial turf, and installed a drip system for new plants. Ve communicated effectively and delivered the project on time. I highly recommend his crew for landscaping projects of any size.
Bottom line - spectacular workmanship, dedication and accountability. Would highly recommend for pretty much any size project in landscaping. Early on I reached out to Ve and 5 other landscapers for quotes. Ve was always there, on time and continuously willing to discuss options and pricing. The pricing was great and I eventually decided to hire Ve. From day 1 Ve showed up with 4 guys and worked hard every day. Ve estimated 6 weeks to complete the project (big project - 5000 sq ft) and it took 5.5 weeks. Mind you this was all dirt before Ve took it in. Happy to be a reference for anyone thinking of hiring Ve. Highly recommended.

He came over the same day, gave us some really good ideas and went over what we want to do within our budget. They started the work in a week and finished everything in 2 weeks. I Contacted Ve to help my mom with building a retaining wall. I found him on Yelp so I reached out to him and he came over within a couple of hours and provided my mom with a quote. She hired him immediately. Ve and his crew came over the very next morning and started the work. Completed everything in two days. He tore out her old retaining wall and put up a new wood retaining wall and laid rock down in her front yard. Ve's work is excellent! This company is extremely reliable and very good communicators and I can't thank them enough!

He was on time and provided the best quote for our 12x10 pergola. It took him a few days to finish the job and it came out wonderful. He went well beyond. We love our Pergola and his service. No bs. Ve was referred to us from a friend who lives nearby. He gave us a very reasonable estimate for our front yard landscaping work, and started working on our yard soon after. They completed the work within two weeks and executed the vision we had for our front yard. They did a fantastic job. We received many compliments from our neighbors as well.
I'm so glad I found Ve on Yelp because not only does he do a great job, he's also a very fair and hard working person. I met with about 3-4 other contractors to get an estimate for my yard, and every single one of them tried to overcharge me. As you can tell from my pictures, I just wanted cement in my yard. Not only did Ve give me a great price, he even offered to install a drip system for when I'm ready for plants. When I told him I wanted to put down rocks only for now since it's the winter time, he happily agreed to help me. He even told me to contact him whenever I'm ready for the plants and he will help me. I am saddened to give such a awful review when I came in contact with this company I was so excited about cleaning and beatifying my yard. The positive is that I got immediate response and Mr. Hoang was punctual. Which is hard to find these days. Unfortunately I find that I overpaid for services and that the work was incomplete. In our initial meeting I listed the services I needed and it seemed that he can deliver. I thought the original quote was fair and reasonable for what I wanted. We agreed to split the work in 2 days, Day 1 Clean up day of the front, back yards and two trees: a palm and partial dead tree in front. Day 2 was to plant ground cover, add a 12' rock border and pressure wash the walkway. Day 1 they were on time and starting cleaning out the back yard, two hours later that said they were done. I go out and see the palm tree was not touched and the front yard was not done. I asked about the trees and he did not have a ladder. That was my first warning. I told him I had a ladder if he needed it. Shame on me for paying the $825 for pruning bushes along my fence line and side, 1/3 of my yard. He said he will finish the work on the 2nd day because he didn't have any more space in is truck for the shrubs. Day 2 Mr. Hoang's brother was sent to complete the job. Four hours later, I get a knock at the door saying he was done. No cleaning, dead plants still in the grounds, weeds everywhere and a muddy walkway. Needless to say I was not happy. After discussing with Mr. Hoang it turns out not only did not have a ladder but no powerwash to boot. So I knew at this point that I was not going to get the services I needed, and decided to cut my losses. Moral of the story is to get all the details in writing with the bid so that negotiations are clear cut. I learned my lesson, I paid over $1300 for 6 hours of labor and a few plants planted. I could have done the pruning myself. They were hired to do the stuff that I, as a 50+ year old woman could not do. Obviously they have made other clients happy and that is why I hired them, But if you plan to hire "California Sustainable Landscaping" get your bid it in writing.

Ve and his team performed an outstanding transformation on my tiny back yard. Well priced, prompt, fast, efficient, thorough, receptive, communicative, respectful, hard working and experienced. One of my biggest concerns was without access to the back yard, all materials would have to be transported through my living room. I do not have a back gate. Ve taped up the flooring and off they went. Not a spot of damage. The pic I have attached was my attempt to retape after day 2. They did a better job. The transformation was completed in 3 half days. WOW. I am so impressed with Ve and his team! We have a new build and had nothing but dirt in the backyard. Steven gave us the best quote out of all 7 that I requested and he also had the best yelp reviews. He took one look and gave us the quote on the spot. I had him do stamped concrete for our driveway and one big patio in the front. He was able to accomplish it all in under a week (really 3 days total working since we couldn't get the truck for cement until after the weekend). His crew was typically 2-3 including himself. 24 hrs before you can walk on it and two weeks before parking a car. We absolutely love the work he did! You can't go wrong hiring him, his work quality is top notch and I love the straight lines he did. I will definitely hire him again for any concrete and landscaping in the future. read more

Couldn't be happier with our final product. Ve was able to fit us into his busy schedule and complete our backyard in the quoted timeline. He was able to capture our vision wonderfully and added on some additional elements he thought would be nice. His price was very fair and reasonable. He helped us plant all of our previous plants we had and ones that we bought as well. We will surely use Ve again to do additional landscaping when the time comes. read more

Being a homeowner and having a fair share of work done to the house, there are a few things that matter most to me in a contractor: quality work, a fair price, good communication, and shows up when he says he's going to. Ve and his crew are all of these things and then some. They transformed our plot of dirt (with a smaller flagstone patio) we called a backyard into a large usable space; they installed artificial turf, poured concrete (with color and texture options), built a new fence to increase our yard space, and built a pergola with connected beam lights. I appreciated that Ve had a point of view, which I trusted since I had seen pictures of his work and he is clearly an expert at what he does. All work was done very quickly--so much so that neighbors noticed and complimented--and all was done well. Our family has spent most of our days enjoying this huge beautiful space since its completion. Ve and his crew are honest, hardworking, and talented. We couldn't be happier and will definitely be recommending them going forward. read more
