I keep having to call and have them to do what they should do the first time. I've been called a liar by the owner and he doesn't respond right away to get things corrected. I'm so tired of having to call and tell him that the guys aren't doing the job they should. There is always a problem or an excuse and I just think that they guys assigned to our house don't want to work. I thought they were throwing away the dishes I use for the outside cats but I found them collected behind the air conditioner like it's the garbage dump. We hired Mt Diablo Gardening to install drainage at our house, and it ended up being a waste of money and we were left worse off then we were before they began work. First, they installed a french drain directly at the base of the house, which I learned later from our reputable contractor and other qualified landscapers that this would actually make more water go under our house. He installed drainage around the perimeter that wasn't properly sloped so it would only flow if there was heavy downfall. He had all the water drain into the center of the yard without installing drainage pits, so we were left with a MUD PIT in the center of our yard. Really, all the water from around the house just drained in the center of our yard. How could he think that would work? Or be esthetically pleasing? Or functional? When I emailed him letting him know of these issues, he never responded. We ended up paying another company to come out and correct some of his work, but we still need to move the french drain. Not sure how this guy is with plants, but if you're looking for drainage work, you're better off going with someone who knows what he is doing. read more

I was looking into local landscapers for a project in my back yard involving irrigation repair and expansion; Sod installation; planting of trees and shrubs and also a raised planter bed utilizing moss rock and some other decorative idea implementations. The lawn looked great but the shrubs and clean up were neglected each time. I had to call to remind Cesar that his gardener was not doing the rest of the work. The 3-stars really 2.5, represent the average of their landscaping service and their weekly maintenance. Mt.Diablo did the landscaping of a new home, they poured a patio, installed sprinkler system, laid sod and planted bushes and trees. The project went well and Cesar was very responsive. The yard looked great. THEN, I let them take over the weekly maintenance....really Blow 'N Go in 10 minutes. Plants were dying, trees falling over, weeds, etc. This is a rental property, so I am not always there when the "workers" are, but a few times I was and asked for things to be done, they always said "Call Cesar". Huh? Calls, texts and emails to Cesar went unanswered. After many many months I got a response to a request to replace some dead trees and plants. A 5-gal bush that died was replaced with a gallon sized plant...WTH I paid for a 5 gal not a 1gal. But, I had enough and went with another company. It cost me $$$$ to have all the issues corrected. If you like paying good money every month for what a 10 year old could do in 10 minutes, have zero communication with the owner, then this is the company for your weekly "maintenance" Note: this is a duplicate review that went under an old Yelp account I need to close. read more

They recently installed our Rain Bird wifi Sprinkler System and replaced our old outside sprinkler units. It's been a month and everything was perfect until yesterday, where our neighbor had to notify us that one of our front zones was STILL running. Upon inspection, it appears it had been running for hours. UGH. We first called Rain Bird who confirmed it wasn't a problem with the unit, but there is a problem with the sprinkler line (which was replaced) by this company. We've been attempting for two days now contact with them, left 3 voicemails, and still no response as of yet, though we are hopeful! We understand things get busy, however, we relayed how this is an urgent issue because our entire home's water had to be shut off as that was the ONLY way the sprinklers would stop themselves. The company has not set up messaging in Yelp, and we are desperate to connect.
