From dealing with a persnickety community manager to dealing with incompetent state workers regarding permits, Tim handled it all. Sure, I could have probably found someone who would have done the job for less money, but I doubt the results would match the job done by Repair Wizards. We ended with Victor after reviewing more than 5 proposals to do the same work (full kitchen remodelling + baths), we decided to go with him because he claimed he was able to master a broad range of tasks: from plumbing to installing floors, build new walls, etc. We couldn't be more happy with the outcome. During this one month and a half, Victor performed the required demolitions in our house (taking care of the hauling as well), re-work all the electrical & plumbing (cap off several pipes, fix a a couple of wrongly installed hot water pipes, and route the new plumbing for our kitchen). He installed new electrical (both 120v and 240v for our new kitchen), and performed all the floor removal and floor installation in the kitchen. He removed completely the previous kitchen and assembly and installed the new one. He replace all the toilets and cabinets in the baths as well, including the plumbing of two of them. Victor is really skilled in a variety of topics, but he is definitely as master of painting; he re-painted all our walls/baths and the exterior deck with an outstanding result. We was able to patch multiple holes in our house and get exactly the same texture as the other walls. We highly recommended Victor, specially if you prefer to lead with one single person than with multiple contractors, his prices are fair and he delivers quality work. The thing we appreciated the most was his honesty with the estimates and required work, we never got the feeling that he is trying to get any extra cash if it wasn't really required. I took my time to write the review because I wanted to check how the finish would wear over time. So far there is nothing I can complain about. I had some termite damage and I can't tell the difference now. For the price of $2 per sq/ft is an amazing deal, and Andy installed reducers at cost, giving a much better look to my living room and master bedroom. While the quality is not 100% perfect, you really need to look up close and under certain lighting conditions to notice imperfections (remember that floor had been used for 42 years). I would not expect the companies that charge almost twice as much to do a better job, so 5 stars well deserved. My advice: pad all your furniture and ban anything with wheels, including your bed frame, your hardwood floors will last a long time after a treatment from New Century.

If you have a larger area to do you can get down to $2.00 sq/ft. We negotiated that and I ripped up my living room carpets to find linoleum and no hardwood! I had Andy do all the extras (stain, quarter round, replace damaged boards) and I'm really glad I did. The floors look great, almost like new. I can't even tell what boards he replaced, they blend right in with the original wood. Professional and cleaned everything up when they were done. I would give 4.5 stars if Yelp had that feature. I definitely recommend Andy. I had the floors done about 3 weeks ago and waited to see how they held up before posting this. My dogs run all over them and the stain and 3 varnish coats hold up great, no scratches from them at all.

Outside of the lack of customer service, my wife and I came to understanding when (and this was our case) the Carpet Center asks for a deposit/ down payment of +10% is technically illegal (and against California State License Board policy) The CSLB told me directly that is highly UN-professional, not to mention, you generally do not want to engage with companies who conduct such behavior. It typically means that the company (in this case) the Carpet Center does not have enough cash flow to fund current jobs (I wish I had known this) We ended up paying in full and would have regardless, but Aida and Nick Budetti sure know how to take it to their customers. In addition to that... and this is more of the issue, but when Aida and Nick came to inspect the damage the Carpet Center caused, Nick repeatedly (numerous times) decided to imply my wife is a liar (and right in front of her) I completely understand that this my story, but I will remind you that pictures do not lie, so you can see the damage and decide for yourself. I for one, would just like to educate and inform (from our story) so that others do not get hurt by the Carpet Center. If anything, I truly hope someone can be assisted by our story. Went to a few carpet shops to find something that would work, and the Carpet Center staff were the only ones that cared to walk us through their leftover inventory and choose something that looked good and worked perfectly for our application--and the cat is happy too!
