I am very dissatisfied with this practice. Melissa Paschall will only address 1 issue at a time. The young man that sometimes assists her is very condescending. Both basically told me to go to another practice. I was not "heard". I never knew of a practice telling you they "see" an issue, apply chemo cream to your lip for 10 days and then make an appointment 3 months later. Then when you have an issue with the cream, the response is come in. They will not assist you unless you come in to pay for a visit. I will say, the front office staff has always been amazing. I have already changed to another Dermatologist. My opinion, don't go to this practice. read more

There has been two times now I went there for services and they couldn't help me. I spoke with the doctor for not even one minute, but they were fast to charge me full price for the office visits. Absolutely love Dr. Roberson and I believe the NP we saw a few times her name was Melissa she was amazing as well. We are usually in and out of there super fast. My son suffers from alopecia and they have been amazing especially after surgery they made sure to stay on top of everything to ensure we caught any new hair loss. From scheduling an appointment with the front desk, to the attentiveness of the staff I had a wonderful experience the with this office. I actually missed an appointment due to a sudden death in the family and the receptionist and office manager were so kind to me and were able to get me rescheduled quickly while showing genuine empathy for my loss. Lori Wood was so knowledgeable and she really took her time with me and made me feel valued. I imagine even on their worst day this office is still leaps and bounds more friendly and helpful than any other office I have been to in all my years. read more

Hands-off care and poor bedside manner at premium cost. 1. Dubious Methods: This practice seems oddly terrified of injecting cystic acne with steroids, a ubiquitous treatment that aligns with the standard of care. And yet they happily collected payment for 2 appointments despite knowing that they were uncomfortable rendering the core services contemplated by the patient. They are also rather pricey, and even with good insurance, you end up with a significant out of pocket payment (even more of a reason to be forthright with the patient about your intentions). In my case, the provider (I believe her name is Melissa) represented to me during my initial appointment that we would approach my first round of injections conservatively and could inject again if need be. Ultimately, she did a bait and switch, later claiming that her office only does injections on a 1-time basis. She also shared her curious hypothesis that intralesional steroid injections actually worsen acne (which doesn't align with the mainstream dermatology community and if they worsen acne, why do them at all?). This philosophy should have been disclosed at my first appointment. As a so-called "more conservative" alternative, the provider prescribed a greasy topical for my oily skin (triggering the worst breakout of my life) and recommended a systemic drug that lists heart issues among its potential side effects. 2. Woefully Unprofessional: - Refused to call in prescriptions for me for a week (this was after the office sent me to obtain labs for the prescription and advised me that the prescription would be called in straightaway). I was told by the receptionist subsequently that this was because the provider (a PA) felt that it was "disrespectful" for me to note that all of my past derms had injected my cystic acne and to inquire about the approach of others within the practice. Talk about hubris and pettiness-- and deliberate time wasting merely because the PA does not want to discuss what other dermatology providers are doing in the field. - The receptionist, who was supposedly intervening to assuage the above, attempted to justify the behavior of the PA by accusing me of "slamming the door" and "storming out" of the office during my last visit, a complete figment of her psyche that had she even a shred of professionalism, would have never been brought to my attention. She chose to interpret as deviant me calmly leaving the office (after asking to linger in the exam room for a few-- the opposite of storming out) and closing the suite door, which I specifically recall swung more freely due to its construction (explaining why I didn't "slam" all 4 doors that I encountered on my way out). What gall. I would urge introspection and training for her to consider the implicit biases that may reside within: By her own admission, I was polite to her on both visits as well as on subsequent phone calls, and the only basis for her repeatedly assuming the worst about me was her having heard that I expressed an opinion that diverged from that of the PA. Perhaps in her world, a woman who looks like me articulating her viewpoint in a calm, fact-based manner must necessarily grow angry enough to resort to mayhem (over a steroid injection no less). When I explained why I was besmirched by her accusation, and would never engage in the behavior alleged, as someone in my line of work, she gave me a snide, suspicious apology couched in provisos (because she was dogged in presenting her misapprehensions as facts). Revolting. Imagine that you're looking around for directions and instead of assuming that you're lost, an onlooker assumes that you're there to case a property for mischief-- it's offensive. Imagine that after explaining that you did no such thing, the onlooker doubles down-- it's degrading and amounts to gaslighting. After a futile 15-min back and forth during which I tried to convince the receptionist to treat me with basic humanity by not villainizing the very ordinary behavior of exiting an office after close of business, I was offered an appointment with another provider within the practice; but I was uneasy about returning to a practice that I felt so strongly was going in the wrong direction medically and even more so with respect to professionalism. The receptionist, clearly sensing my hesitance to accept the appointment, told me that they would rather that I go elsewhere anyway and to "have a nice life". Sadly, this geographical area is a bit of desert when it comes to quality dermatology providers but no one should have to suffer care such as that which I've described. I was willing to stomach the ego of the PA out of desperation on some level, or to try one of the other providers, but the baseless accusation by the receptionist was demeaning, needlessly inflammatory, and rendered a bad situation untenable.
