This place gets a 5 for its staff. They have all been very nice. Honestly they seem like a happy bunch! Even when I messed up my own order and ordered something that I was allergic to. I asked them to change my order and without hesitation they were more than happy to help me out. They responded quick and professional. Also, I was surprised to learn they have breakfast options too. They have a simple menu. The breakfast burrito, the avocado toast, and the pastries were all great options. Strangely, the coffee here has disappointed multiple times. It feels awkward to say this mostly because they are technically a coffee shop. Particularly, the cold brew was just too bitter. I can't tell if it's the coffee they serve or how the way it's being brewed. I try to not be crazy about it but yall know your coffee has to be on point in the morning. So, I would go here for the ambiance and the simple breakfast options. Maybe try a coffee option other than the cold brew, since my experience has been not so great in the taste department with the coffee. Heck! I'm not a huge coffee guy so I can't speak too much about the coffee but the donuts here alone are worth the trip. Donuts - they have only started making these for about a month, the cashier said they sold out by 9am the day prior. I came right around opening time and managed to snag all the donuts that we're coming out. I probably went overboard as these definitely taste better fresh. But it was really good. I highly recommend the strawberry and peach glaze ones. Another surprising menu item is their kombucha by Whalebird. The pamplemouse flavor is so good. Stopped in for a Chai and pastry. I really wanted to try their donuts but they were already sold out when I arrived. I came on a rainy day and it was packed inside. Luckily I was able to grab a seat. Tables are really close together. It was a little awkward with the couple at the table next to me. My chai came out but my pastry was forgotten. I went to the counter, it took awhile but I finally got an employee to acknowledge me and get the pastry. Overall it was an ok experience. I'm sure the lack of customer service was due to being busy. This is a little place I ran into when I went to Visalia. This place is small and super packed. I like their theme and food, however, their coffee didn't "wow" me. I wanted a vanilla latte and I was told they don't use syrup flavors, which is super cool. So I ordered the "sweet latte" and asked to please add another shot of espresso since I am not a fan of super sweet drinks. My coffee was still super sweet and the flavor became overwhelming after a few sips. I was disappointed I couldn't finished my $6 dollar coffee. The mocha was also super sweet and overwhelming. Perhaps we didn't know how to order? On another note, the food was amazing. I really enjoyed my avocado toast. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles. Wish I had taken a pic of it to show you all. My mother ordered avocado toast and a latte. We shared our food and pastry, it was a very delicious breakfast. Pros: Delicious food, simple menu, great interior, inventive pastries (ex. pb and j donut, lavender donut) Cons: Parking can be a bit difficult to find, I suggest parking in the public parking lot and walking to the location. The location itself is a bit difficult to find, there are two entrances and the coffee lab is in the middle of the entrances. One time one of the entrances was locked and we had to walk to the other entrance. I recommend this location for its delicious food and great coffee. I drove all the way down from San Francisco and was able to buy a bag of their Ethiopian guji beans. It's a shame that Component is so far away because it was, hands down, one of the BEST beans we've ever had in our lives. Yes, and that's in comparison to beans from LA and SF! These beans are bright, fruity, and have a very smooth finish. This gem of a roastery is not to be passed up, especially if you love yourself a light-medium pour over. I'm only sad that we're just finishing the bag -- after just one week -- and that I won't be down in the area any time soon to pick more up. read more

However, I was disappointed that those were the only offerings left, despite them not closing for another 3 hours. I also had a sweet latte with oat milk. I've been coming for years but the wait times are ridiculous. They are getting longer and longer. I'm sorry but if you are going to take online orders then staff for that. Whatever is being done right now is not efficient and the business will lose customers in the long run bc honestly nobody will wait 20 min for chai latte or some coffee no matter how good it is.. Starbucks is down the street. This is not the first time this has happened.. I thought maybe it was just an off day or two but it's becoming part of the culture there. Hire a manager to make sure your staff are keeping up with demand, designate someone to be the barista for online orders, hire more seasoned staff, etc. Just a few thoughts. I saw this place on Yelp and wanted to check it out since I like going to new coffee places. I went with my friend and we got there at around 10am so it looked pretty busy but we were able to get through the line fairly quickly and order our items. We both got the Sweet latte but I got mine with oatmilk, then to eat I got the almond croissant and she got the burrito (sadly forgot the name of it). We decided to sit outside at their nice patio seating and while we waited the line got really long, so this place was definitely busy on a Saturday! They finished our lattes and brought them out to us, and with just one sip we were amazed at how good they were! Very accurate description on the menu for them because sweet but not too sweet is exactly the flavor the lattes had. I really liked the espresso they used too it had a nice strong scent and the flavor really showed throughout the latte! The only slight downside I felt the latte had was that by the time I had a small amount left in my cup, the espresso flavor started to be taken over by the milk, but I think that's because I got the 16oz and not the 12oz so there was just more milk in general for my drink. For the food, the almond croissant was super good! Very flaky with a good amount of almonds and almond filling inside! I only wished it had been warmed up for a bit longer because it was slightly on the cooler side even though they warmed it up, but the flavor itself was great regardless! My friend's burrito took a while to arrive but they packed it with quality ingredients, so it was a good size and very tasty! The flavor of the potatoes, egg, and bacon, was really good and we could tell it was seasoned very well, also because it was so large my friend couldn't even finish the whole thing and took the other half to work lol. The staff was also very friendly and quick with getting through the orders despite how busy it was! Overall would definitely go back and the only reason I give it a four star is because it was a bit on the pricier side since for the four menu items plus this one sticker I bought I spent about $30, which surprised me . read more

There was no side-eyeing or crazy looks that I have experienced here in Visalia ( back in the South we call this the racists eye). I had the spiced latte which is a seasonal beverage and if you don't feel the essence of fall on your tongue - ha ha - omg! I don't know what to tell you! It was like thanksgiving morning hugging my tongue - All it needed was a little more sugar but the drink was well flavored. The coffee cake was definitely home made. I suggest you heat it up before consumption b/c it was kind of firm.. also if you are expecting a muffin that's NOT on a diet plan (gluten-free, dairy-free, negative energy-free) then this is the wrong muffin. This muffin is definitely on a DIET. VERY HEALTHY! But it's good ( shrugs ) There is seating inside and outside. The parking is a little bit on the thin side and there was a small wait for your order - nothing too extreme. I say all this to say- go and patronize this business. Good energy! Component Coffee cuts straight to the point. Nothing overly fancy, no extra flavorings. You get either honey or simple syrup. Simple. I like that. You can have your Oat Milk (thank you very much!). Folks here are nice and you can tell that they enjoy what they do. They measure/weigh everything out which is perfect because, I love a good latte and they do a good latte. It's the perfect balance between espresso and milk. Not overly milky where it over powers the espresso. In house pours are A LOT bigger than to-go lattes (at least that's what it looks like) so have a seat and stick around for awhile. This place is hot, Visalia, the coffee shop and the darn bathroom so I recommend making your latte iced! read more
