This was my first time, after two previous procedures through North Shore. They were great. Very smooth, efficient, but never rushed.

If you call and have a question they will get back to you if they feel like it. When you're doing a colonoscopy or something that requires lots of money, then they will respond lightning fast. But if you have a basic question or concern, then they usually won't get back to you. I had a question recently and I was told I would have an answer that day, and a nurse never returned my call. Luckily Google is a great Dr, and I know in the future I will never go to this unprofessional joke of a place again. read more

He answered all of my questions before the procedure and put me at ease. Dr Tara Troy is amazing. She is so though and explains everything!!!! Solved all my GI problems. I am finally feeling good. Had my Colonoscopy preformed here and was told I have severe angulation & for future a pediatric scope is used. She found polyps and removed them with no complication. Endoscopy was also recommended to rule things out. No pain. Her staff is professional and kind Allison Lindstrom is detail oriented and has come up with tests to figure out what the next course of action is. Katrina Christenson the dietician on staff has given me a wealth of information to change my eating patterns which has helped with my symptoms. I highly recommend Dr Troy and her team!!!! read more

This has been the worst experience with a medical provider. I was assigned a telehealth with Mary Rouzer (a PA, not a GI MD) for suspected IBS and SIBO. During the single, 30-minute video telehealth she recommended a plethora of expensive testing: Breath Test ($350), Fodmap Test ($349), upper endoscopy (VERY INVASIVE & requires twilight anesthesia) right off the bat. the lab tests ha to be performed at home and sent back to the individual labs. I never received any followup from Ms Rouzer (1 month later)- CGH seems to operate mostly online via Healow messaging and no one answers the main number. I had to make multiple calls to get through to a live member of her "clinical team". Finally learned I had SIBO (overgrowth of methane bacteria) which requires a 2-week Rx called Xifaxan, Apparently - there is NO generic or alternative for this RX - and my out- of-pocket cost (despite insurance & manufacturer co-pay card) was $900. The lack of follow up on their part is abysmal - they are like the "Tesla" of medicine - all online Perhaps my mistake was not insisting on an in-person appointment with an acutal Gastroenterologist MD but I didn't know any better. If you have symptoms or issues requiring more than a standard colonoscopy, I would NOT recommend Mary Rouzer. I have requested a follow-up in person appointment with Dr. Chung (MD) to give them another chance since I am already so invested in the process with them. SIBO & IBS are very complex syndromes, and I believe it is a disservice to patients with these type of complaints to not recommend an in-person physician visit. Thanks for reading read more

Let's start off with the elephant in the room. Colon health. For some people a colonoscopy is a frightening and anxiety producing experience. I'm one of those people. I don't like medical procedures, I don't particularly care for needles, and the whole process just reminds me that from the moment I was born I've just been slowly dying. It literally took me five years to come to terms with the fact that I needed to do this. But I'll tell you what, once I got past all the pre-procedure stuff (the covid-swab, the 24 pills, the aggressive bowel evacuation, the IV-administered anesthesia, all of which there is no getting around) the entire event was efficient, relaxing, and relatively quickly over with. I was awake, then I was asleep and then I was awake again, like nothing had even happened. The staff is kind and the Dr Troy is just great. I'm not saying I'm looking forward to my next colonoscopy in 5 years but I'm also not freaking out about it anymore, and that says a lot about the experience at this particular office. I'm glad I finally went and I'm glad I went here specifically. You should go here too. read more

I can't find the right words to express my gratitude for Dr. Troy and her team. At 36 years old, I was recently diagnosed with skin cancer in a private and awkward area. I've been having a really hard time dealing with this and needed a gastro eval to make sure it didn't spread internally. I highly recommend Comprehensive Gastrointestinal Health! I have been a patient of theirs for 2 years, and everyone from the front desk staff (Jolie is so warm & welcoming!) to their nurses, doctors, and nutritionists are top notch. Their surgery center feels like a spa which made my colonoscopy & endoscopy process so much much enjoyable! I have had a couple wonderful appointments with Dr. Troy where I never felt rushed, she really took the time to walk me through all of my issues and options. I've also heard from friends that Dr. Nathanson, who joined the practice not too long ago, is a fantastic doctor with an excellent bedside manner. Recently I have also been seeing their nutritionist Claire Allen who is so knowledgeable about how to help my acid reflux/GERD issues. The doctors office and staff were great. However, they use mobile anesthesia and I've had nothing but issues with their billing. Insurance company says they billed incorrectly but that didn't matter. I won't be going back because of them. Make sure to check your anesthesia bill. read more

Words fail as I try to express how high a recommendation I hope to offer for Comprehensive Gastrointestinal Health (CGH). Upon learning of my GI troubles, another doctor referred me to Dr Troy whole-heartedly after having her own positive experience with CGH. I also offer this feedback as a healthcare practitioner myself, working for nearly 15 years in an inpatient, outpatient and private capacity. I have to admit that, from start to finish, I was in awe of how seamlessly CHG tended to each and every step of my care -- assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. To say that this center works like I well-oiled machine is an understatement. The office and endoscopy suite are impeccable. All members of CGH's team communicate and collaborate -- enveloping the patient in a way that feels 100% holistic and comprehensive (as the name suggests). Staff members who stood out include: Diane -- clinical coordinator -- she was patient with my questions; resourceful with making secondary appointments and ensuring that all paperwork (insurance and otherwise) were ready and complete; well-versed in all aspects of my case... Diane clearly pulls things together and does so with an awesome level of kindness. Leah -- nurse -- she explained my home testing kits on my first visit, let me know that she'd be at the center on the day of my procedure, and gave me the warmest personal welcome when I arrived that day. Jill -- nurse -- she took care of me on the day of my procedure; she was attentive to detail but also gentle and personable, which made me feel safe and reassured Liz -- nurse practitioner -- I didn't have the pleasure of meeting her in person, but I feel as though I did. Liz notified me right away when each batch of my test results arrived. Before speaking with me, I could tell that she'd familiarized herself with all aspects of my case --so I felt 'understood' from the moment our phone conversation began. She never once seemed expedient. Instead, she was genuine and caring. She took extra time to respond to any and all of my questions regarding the meaning go each result and the purpose or goal of the prescribed treatment. She was also extremely insurance savvy and went WELL above and beyond the call of duty to help with the arrangements for my medication. Last and certainly not least, Dr Troy was an absolute godsend. The history of my symptoms was lengthy -- but she listened intently to my story, took copious notes, addressed every detail, and asked relevant questions along the way. She never seemed rushed. On the contrary, despite the many patients she supports, she gave me her undivided attention and made me feel as if I was the only patient she would see for the entire day. She was incredibly thorough throughout the diagnostic process -- she knew exactly which tests were needed -- and which weren't. This helped narrow down the problem quickly and effectively, so that we could start working toward a solution most efficiently. After months of horrible discomfort that severely impacted my quality of life - I'm so grateful to be feeling better and on the road to recovery. Outside of her clinical expertise - her bedside manner (both in her office and in the endoscopy suite) was empathetic and just plain exceptional. This review is specific to Jed Foster. Throughout the course of my treatment, things just got more and more odd. It began when I called the front desk to schedule out my treatment, and they acted like they had never heard of his hypnotherapy plan. They didn't know how many weeks to schedule or in what cadence. That was just the beginning. Scheduling with him was just generally a nightmare. He was late to every session (not just a couple of minutes). He also spent a TON of time talking about himself and his issues (I sometimes felt like the therapist). It felt like he was trying to stretch out the sessions for as long as possible. He wouldn't follow up when he said he would, and sometimes he wouldn't remember anything about what we'd done the previous session, as if he wasn't taking notes. I just wanted to get my sessions over with as quickly as possible, hopefully reap some benefits from the hypnotherapy (who knows if I did...), and be done with him. read more

The care from the staff and Dr. Tara Troy was amazing. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with a warm smile and a lovely, spa like atmosphere. The exam office allow you to sit at a table and converse with the doctor more casually. It is obvious and apparent that Dr. Troy LOVES what she does and makes the patient part of the decision making process. The amount of time spent making a clear and easily understood plan of action was beyond generous. Dr. Troy and her staff's ability to provide a colonoscopy experience that was comfortable, caring and efficient was another highlight of the experience. Numerous calls and texts were returned rapidly and with concern. From the moment I arrived, the procedure was done in a methodical and comfortable manner. I was given a notebook with the drink and snack I would like after the procedure as well as the music I would like to hear. When I went into the procedure room, a warm blanket was secured, even though I would be "sleeping" in less than 30 seconds, Billy Joel was playing and I was wrapped in a warm blanket. The ability to offer different preps for the procedure was also appreciated as well as the option to eat a breakfast (limited items, but made the day go smoother) was also a plus. Her website is a wealth of information. Her staff is always smiling and genuinely happy to help the patients. Dr. Troy is incredibly knowledgable and tailors all her recommendations with personalization.
