I was able to make an appointment to be seen as a new patient. I find Dr Horn to be very friendly and personable. I enjoyed our chat while he was treating my plantar fasciitis and the office staff is very pleasant. While he did provide relief from the pain in my heel and a comprehensive list of footwear to get to avoid future issues, I was not satisfied with the discussion around my toenails and whether they should be cut away or not. They made me wait all month for my appointment and for me to come in, which is physically difficult to do on its own, to tell me they won't accept me as a patient. Now, days before my prescription expires, I have to scramble back to my referring doctor to renew my prescription. All the nurse practitioner offered me is suboxone for when I will inevitably go through withdrawal due to their carelessness. My previous pain management doctor has been transitioning all of his opiate clients out of his practice and referred me specifically to Dr. Kamlet because this is his speciality. I assumed there would be little issue. It's a real slap in the face, on top of already having come in last month to receive ketamine treatment for my back-pain and being turned away due to their practice not using ketamine to treat back-pain, which I explicitly explained to the receptionist that I would come in for over the phone. Traversing the ever-changing field of medical care regarding opioid pain medication is hard enough and painful enough without falling victim to this kind of careless and abusive mismanagement.

They were quick (almost immediate) to organize telemedicine and phone calls in order to keep Patients' health managed and medications up to date. The transition from in person to telemedicine was handled expertly. I was very impressed with the professionalism and promptness with which this was handled. From the office staff,doctors, therapists, to the people coordinating appointments via text, it has been one less stress during this challenging covid-19 time. They automatically schedule appointments and send reminders via text. You are contacted previous to your appointment to answer all your health assessment questions. This is done by Compass Health coordinators. All of the interactions have been top-notch. My appointments are on time and still the same high quality of care, albeit in a new format.
