We randomly ordered a pizza here on a Saturday night. It's very convenient location to home. We weren't sure what to expect since we ordered the Grandma's Sicilian. We definitely have our go to pizza places in the area, but this one is going to be added to our list. Crust was thick and doughy. Definitely more like a Detroit pizza vs western NY. But it's definitely worth a try.

The Grandma style Sicilian pizza is heavenly! Thick crust with a crunchy bottom. Their regular pizza is also great!

This is our "go to" when we want pizza! Love the cup and chat pepperoni! I'm giving them a 5, even though they don't deliver!

There's not a lobby area so folks are funneled to the bar so there were others waiting there as well and it felt a bit like that was the idea to get people to start a tab there first. When we were seated it was at a table for 6 whilst we were 3 and right by the kitchen which didn't feel worth the wait or the trouble of making a reservation in advance. The bread basket was tasteless, cold and just had little butter cubes. The bottle of wine my husband chose they didn't have so we had to choose an alternate and the waiter needed to be reminded about our son's diet coke when he only brought the wine out and didn't come back with the soda. The wine glasses were never refilled. Meals were fine and good size portions. Our son is only a sophomore at Fisher so since the experience failed to impress I'm not sure if we'll opt to give it another try or not.

Six o'clock reservation on a saturday walked right in and got seated. It is a bit cavernous (older brick building which used to be home to American Can Co). Was not cramped with well spaced tables and not overly loud, did not notice any music playing and was not crowded with a few open tables. Menus were printed on the paper table placings (front/back) which probably came about because of Covid and a great idea. Found serving sizes ample and food well cooked and seasoned. Hugh plate of egg plant parm, two rib bone in pork chop cooked to perfection, beef short rib, "The Bear" (off the bone, they also had a short rib special on the bone this night), 4th entree was a pasta dish (gnocchi?). Did not have drinks other than water and a couple of beers so can not review wines or mixed drinks. Only reason for 4 stars is the parking is horrible on location so save yourself the time and park right across the street at the municiipal free parking.

We got a selection of appetizers and they were all good: Brussels sprouts, meatballs and calamari. I opted for the veal parm which was a generous serving with pasta. One of my companions opted for a pizza which looked delicious. I opted for the "nonna's mule" as my drink and it was refreshing. It's always nice to be surprised by good Italian food because I don't always want to cook it myself!

Perlo's of East Rochester, NY: Reading the reviews, it seems you love it or hate it. Having eaten…read morethere many, many times over the past 20+ years, we used to love it. Our recent experience has changed that. We informed staff of our dissatisfaction at the time and left contact information so the restaurant could follow-up; then mailed Donna a letter explaining why we were dissatisfied; and then followed that up later with email to her. Crickets. So now it's time to post a review: If your party of three likes waiting for your entrees while larger parties around you arrive after you, eat their meals, and leave, this is the place for you! If you like your waiter telling you the food is "coming soon" 30 minutes after the appetizers, and then tracking him down after 50 minutes to ask where your food is, this is the place for you! If you like being told that your meal would be comped as an apology, but have that courtesy overruled by Matt, the bartender, this is the place for you! If you like the bartender telling you that 50 minutes between appetizer and entree isn't a long time, and that you just don't understand how food flows out of the kitchen, this is the place for you! And after all that, if you like being offered a cannoli by way of apology, this is the place for you! As mentioned, we've eaten there many times, so obviously have never experienced anything like this before. We're understanding about busy nights, which this was, and have no problem with a reasonable wait. We do have a problem when a simple order of two shrimp scampi and an eggplant parm is nowhere to be found while diners around us arrive, eat and leave. And we do have a problem when management condescendingly dismisses our dissatisfaction as being uninformed about how a restaurant functions. After that insulting experience, we said we would wait no longer, did not want the meal, and would find our dinner elsewhere. Miraculously, the food came out as we gathered our things to leave, over an hour after the appetizers had arrived. Diners around us undoubtedly found the situation uncomfortable, so as a courtesy to them, after briefly reiterating that we no longer wanted the meal, we decided to accept the order as take-out. Incidentally, the eggplant was good; the shrimp scampi and pasta was poorly prepared, bland and unsalted. We left the cannoli.

Service was outstanding--our waiter let us set the pace, and even though they closed at 9, we were never rushed and stayed until nearly 10. We brought our own wine ($15 corkage fee), but their wine menu is also excellent and reasonably priced--we grabbed a second bottle of Cab Sauv for $45. The food was fantastic! We started with calamari, a wedge salad, and greens & beans with sausage--flavorful, garlicky, and a generous portion. For mains, we had Chicken Asiago, Chicken Parm, Chicken Marsala, and the special Lobster Fra Diavolo (a steal at $38 for two 4 oz lobster tails). Everything was delicious! Reasonably priced, amazing service, and incredible food--we'll definitely be back! Perlo's is a gem, highly recommend!

We started with a flight of mediocre (as it turned out) red wines; a Grenache, an Italian varietal, and a Cabernet. 3x2 or 6 ounces for $15.00. None of the wines were very good. We like to sample wines by the flight so we can drive up to Georgetown liquor and get a bottle. None of these were even close to prompting a visit there. For food we had a peach, tomato, quinoa, goat, and kale salad. We also had a cheese flight and I had the spicy meatballs. Expensive and very small portions. My meatball app was $15 and was 1 and 1/2 small meatballs doused in Frank's with a squirt of blue cheese. It was spicy as advertised but meager. Cheese flight was ok, but also $13 for not a lot. Spoiler alert: if their menu says 'shareable', it's not, unless one of you (or both) are fasting. Service was adequate and we got to enjoy the live music entertainment sound check (we got there before the actual performance). Guy banging on the percussion box: yes, it's way too loud for the tiny space. Usual server upselling of their overpriced menu items and drinks, but not delivering much in the way of hospitality or warmth. I don't think we would go back unless one of our friends wanted to. I think if you just want to drink and listen to live music, this place will work for you.
