I requested a quote for repair of my Galaxy S7 and got a fast response from Hugo. I went in the next day and they fixed my phone up while I waited on the couch in the back area of the sales floor and read a book. Ended up costing less than half the quoted price. Hugo and his assistant Alex were super friendly and knowledgeable, and now I know not to leave my phone on the wireless charger overnight because that's what caused the battery to swell up and pop the screen off. I will come here next time I need any phone repairs, and it looks like a good place for accessories as well, if I need another case or screen protector, etc. read more

I had my iPhone 6 plus screen replaced while visiting SF because it had shattered. It looked great when I got the phone and the guy that fixed it was really nice and only cost me $70. About two months later the screen stopped working. I didn't drop it or get it wet. Everything works except for the touch screen which is what was replaced. I took it to the Apple store and now have to get it replaced again so I think I'd recommend just doing that from the get-go. I hate to leave a bad review, but I wouldn't get my screen replaced here again. read more

Me-"I dropped it in water, you said you were going to look at the battery..." Compupod-"Well, lets see,(rustles paper and yells at someone) your phone has a lot of water damage." Me-"yes, I dropped it in water." Compupod- "Okay let me look at it, and I can call you back." Me-"I don't have a phone." Compupod.-" Okay well you call back later." Tuesday- Me "Hi yes, I dropped my phone off on Sunday and spoke to you yesterday" Compupod- "Yes, what was wrong with your phone?" Me- "I dropped it in water..." In short, it took them 3 days to tell me that they don't work on phones that have water damage. it was like groundhog day, without the punchy one liners and the 80s hair. I needed replacement for a broken Samsung Galaxy S4 screen. They had good Yelp ratings and there was Yelp Deal. I dropped the phone off one afternoon and they said it would be ready the next day at 4:00pm. I arrived and the phone was almost done. The glue was still drying but I could pick it up. After the glue dried, the touch screen sensitivity was spotty. I brought it back and they redid the glass. Now it works great! They stood by their work and made things right. Long and short: Okay on repair. Overpriced and poor service. Just had an iPhone 6 screen repaired here. The tech was friendly and knowledgeable at drop off and said the repair would take an hour. After the hour, I returned to see the door locked and a sign on the door that said "Back in 10 minutes." 20 minutes later and no answers to multiple calls (and you could see them in the back of the store) they finally opened back up and I could pick up the phone. I learned afterwards that Apple charges less for the same repair. Would not return. read more

I decided to give compupod a try since I work near the area and they seem to be the only place I trust with my electronics. I needed to unlock two android phones and was greeted by Ulises who was friendly and informed me that process. He took the phones and gave me a mustard colored claim check and told me someone would call me. Not even an hour past and Marisol called me and informed that they would be sble to unlock my devices and also the cost. I was like great, go for it. I've never wrote a review before but this was so bad I feel motivated to do so. After spending hundreds of dollars and 5+ days to get my item repaired... it still did not work. When I confronted them, their only answer was that I can bring it in for repairs again. Why so they can not fix it again!? Didn't even offer a discount for the HORRIBLE service that I received. Baffled by their incompetence, I would NOT suggest going to them for anything more complex than a phone screen repair. You'd be better off throwing your money in the fire place. read more

I had an old Nexus 4 with a broken glass/lcd and found a recent positive review for this place to fix it (good, no waiting for parts). However, some of the reviews looked sketchy (people from different states using the exact same phrases with the exact same broken English...) I came in anyway. Nice people, slow service. I bought a phone charger here in a pinch one weekend when my phone died. It didn't come pre-charged like they said it would. Then once I got home and charged it, it worked for about a minute then stopped. When I tried to return it with my receipt, they looked at me in shock and said they can't accept the return without a box. This is frankly B.S. I had to use credit to exchange instead so I got earphones--which I hope will work. Update 10/29: tested out the earphones and as expected, they suck. Don't go here! I was in the area and spotted their sign. My cell phone had recently broke the back glass so I walked in, i was surprised by all the phones, phone cases and music speaker the have for sale. My phone was fixed within an hour! It was efficiently fast. Very unexpensive and looks like it never broke. I will definitely bring my iPad to be fixed, I highly recommend it. I have a rare phone, with a leather back. When I needed the battery changed, Hugo was not only the first to answer my Yelp message, but had the best responses to my questions. Half the businesses I contacted flat rejected me, saying they didn't know my phone well enough. Hugo bought the weird battery ahead of time. That allowed us to set a schedule so they could change the battery while I waited. Sure enough, I was able to get a lot of my own work done via wifi, sitting in their pleasant clean shop, while George swapped the battery. Despite contending with greater dis/assembly issues, George got it done in very reasonable time. When they told me the price, I decided they were undercharging me for the time they spent, so I insisted on paying more. Even with that, the price was very reasonable for the service I received. I will send all my friends who need phone help to Hugo and George in the future. read more

My WiiU system crapped out on me and wouldn't take discs. I tried numerous tips I found online to fix it and nothing worked. I even contacted Nintendo and they've stopped taking this game system to be repaired. Compupod was the only local place I found that could do repairs and they fixed it!!! They changed out the disc drive and everything works great. I'm absolutely elated! They were totally professional and texted me pictures of my system and updated me on the progress. I was about to try to fix it myself, but am not so good with electronics so put my absolute trust in them. I went to get my iphone screen replaced after it had scratched. They did a good quick job, however later i noticed that the screen had not been placed properly over the phone and was jutting out at the bottom corner. It wasn't flush with the phone. I went back to them, they immediately acknowledged the issue and fixed it. Second time was the charm, and it was great. I used a Yelp! deal here for additional store credit to replace my iPhone 6 charging cube + cable. Much to my chagrin, the cable was defective! I would leave my phone charging only to pick it back up to find it hadn't charged at all, because the wire had gotten bumped slightly. Very irritating. Some time had passed and my intention to come back and try to exchange the cable kept getting pushed aside. I lost the receipt and knew I probably wouldn't get a new cable but I came in to try anyway, expecting to leave angry and dissatisfied. Only I didn't leave feeling either of those things!! The woman working was prompt in getting me a new cable, even though I hadn't managed to hold on to my receipt.
