I damaged the volume button on my Samsung S6 phone due to putting my phone in my back pocket and it got bent. Most of the places that I contacted either didn't work on Samsung phones or were priced to high but I got a quick reply from Hugo through Yelp and the price was reasonable. I took my phone in and and didn't have to wait long. They had to order my part so I left my phone overnight (or you can take it home with you but you will have to pay up front to assure you are coming back). The phone was fixed next day. After getting home, I realized the new button was not connecting to the volume so I called and Hugo answered the phone and told me to bring it back in. They were able to fix the small issue within the hour and since it was under warranty I didn't have to pay again and now my phone is good as new.There were other customers waiting when I walked in both times but was assisted pretty fast. The employees speak both English and Spanish which is good. The street parking is metered and it can be full but then again it is Mission St. I was able to find parking both times right in front of the store. I would totally recommend coming here. Any issues in the future, I will be going back. When I arrived, everyone was so friendly! I was coming from work so they accommodated a quick turnaround. They were able to fix my cracked screen in 45 minutes- might have been even a little less. First off, I paid $170 to get my screen fixed. About a week later, my phone fell onto CARPET and the screen broke again. How nice that they gave me a discount for parts only ($90) considering whatever parts they initially used were junk. Now my battery will NOT charge. I don't know what they did or if I just have a shitty phone. iPhone Repair on 16th and Mission is the real deal. The only reason I came here was because they were open on a Sunday. read more

After trying (and failing) to surface-mount solder a replacement power button on my Nexus 5, I gave up and brought my phone to Compupod. Helpful service, fast and high quality. My cell phone mount holder broke and the same day I got a ticket for texting while driving. I went in to Compupod right before closing and needed a new holder. Hugo's team brought our iPhone 5 back from the dead! So we own a business here in the city, and we rely on our oldie but goodie iPhone (wait, is it old? I suppose in iPhone terms it's like a relic of the Crimean war or something). I did the little quote request thing and in like 10 minutes Hugo responded back saying he'd have a tech out the same day to fix our iPhone. The culprit was a dead battery, but we really needed someone with mobility to come fix it for us. Ok, I don't think this place is terrible but I had a terrible experience there. The main problem is they have way too many people there who don't seem to know what they're doing. They need to train their staff and the first thing that they need to train them is to say "I don't know how to do this, let me refer you to someone who knows how." I bought an ipod there and it kept crashing my computer so a few hours later I returned it. The return didn't go through and I kept calling them for a week and spent about an hour on the phone with them. Finally they said they would refund me in cash if I came in. I rushed down there and they refunded me on the machine again. This time it went through but it took way too long. read more

I went to Compupod because 1) the camera lens on my iPhone was scratched up, which caused bad pics and 2) it was closer than other stores. I was a bit weary when I walked up to Compupod because it's kind of a hole in the wall, but that pretty much describes at least 75% of establishments in the Mission. As soon as I walked in, someone greeted me and asked how they could help. I said I needed to replace the back of my phone because the lens was scratched up. He said it would cost $29 plus tax and would take 5 minutes. Almost as soon as I sat down to wait, the back of my phone was replaced. He gave me time to inspect the phone and everything looked perfect. I then went to Luna Park, took a crystal clear picture of my tuna poke, instagrammed that shit and drank a beer. The most helpful and instructive person I have spoken to about cracking iphones. He walked me through the process, and explained about the use (and fake versions of) these wondrous Gevey chips that do it all for you. He even gave me discount for Liking him on Facebook. It helps that they are located right next to most of the phone shops on Mission, so you can just head in there when there is a problem that your ordinary shop assitant can't solve. Don't be fooled by the girl that works there either - she knows more about iphones than you do. read more

What a find this place is! Its no frills, but these folks know customer service. I called looking to have my Iphone 4 unlocked... I had called a few other places and everyone said it either couldn't be done, or it would cost $200!! Hugo, though he couldn't unlock it, he hooked me up with an even better solution... A Phone/Data/Text package for less than what I was paying on T-mobile!!! Not only did he sell me the service, but he set everything up and promised support should something go wrong. The whole staff was really nice, even the other customers were friendly. I had an iPhone someone gave me when they upgraded and had been told I could use it there. T mobile sent me across the street to Compupod to unlock it.
