The person answering the phone answered in Spanish, which is fine but I responded in English because my spanish is too poor for me to be able to say "the screen on my motorola phone cracked, do you have those on hand"... except that the person responded "one second please" but then hung up on me. sorry, I know this will sound funny to some, I also am proficient enough in my Spanish to converse socially. but when I call a business, I expect whoever answers the phone to be able to respond appropriately. read more

I wrote this review in anger because I had already been treated badly at TechMission when I went in there to have my phone fixed and got ripped off. I had a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with a cracked glass back. Submitted a quote request around 8pm the night before. Hugo responded within an hour, after the business had already closed and said I can bring it in the next day to get it fixed with them ordering the part in the morning, arriving late afternoon! I needed a battery replacement on my Android cell phone. A friend of mine had sent an initial inquiry via Yelp to find out timing and pricing and I then went to the Mission Street location. Javier had already ordered the battery, on the basis of the Yelp inquiry! When I came back a few days later to have it installed, they did so in no time flat and at a very reasonable price. When I had a small gap between my frame and the screen, I brought it back in for a check. Extraordinary on every dimension -- friendly, fast, understanding, inexpensive. Checked price with others and Compupod was the most reasonable to fix defunct iPhone_4 power button (half the price of some others), and able to do other repairs/replacements while they had case opened up/dissassembled (new battery, new case back). I've been getting iPhone screen protectors here for a few years, they've always done a good job. For some reason they've recently decided to standardize on a brand that has a blue tint to it. Brought in my brand new Google pixel XL to get my cracked screen fixed bc my clumsy fingers decided to drop it. Took pictures of my phone and did a 360 degree video of it just to protect myself if something did happen to my phone while getting fixed. They quoted me $175 to get my photo fixed, knowing the phone was brand new I figured it would cost me around the quote they gave me and agreed to the price. Coming back around 2 hours I noticed a bunch of glue around the new screen and a space between the back cassing. I told them about the issue and was told the technician was out for lunch and won't be back. I told them I would be back on the weekday to get my phone fixed. 2 days later I come back and they started to fix my phone, told me it would take an hour to fix and have the new glue settle till then. Coming back they told the housing was bent and that was the best they can do. Irritated at myself knowing I should have sent the phone to Google to fix instead. Overall the technician and the gentleman with beard gave me a phone case to compensate for the damages that happened. So yes I give them a 3 star on customer service but literally a 1 star for bending the housing of the phone. read more

Went there to fix my phone - was told what the problem was and charged $100 bucks to fix it (about what the phone was worth). Fine. Got it back and it still didn't work, so returned to the store. They told me a tine on the sim card reader was missing and that was the problem- this was incorrect according to the IT people I took it to afterwards- it was fine. They then offered to fix it again for another $80, and only admitted to me after I pressed them that they didn't know if they could fix it, and they were only charging for the attempt. I found the man I spoke with condescending and rude, and he refused to work with me in any way. This was by far my worst experience with something like this and I would rather travel further for someplace where I don't feel like they are trying to trick me into sinking more money into a dead phone. read more

Since the #1 goal of having a screen replaced is having it done right the first time, I'm reducing to 3 stars.
