The employees in the Savannah store need to get on the same page as far as their pricing. I was quoted a price over the phone, and when I got to the store the price was doubled for the same repair. It was a ripoff. Obviously, they lost my business. read more

Worst customer service possible. I cracked my phone screen and I took it in for repair and they repaired. Next day battery started to swell up and lifted the screen up. I took it in again and they confirmed the battery was swollen. I took my phone to Charleston Apple Store and they told me that they had messed up my volume buttons when they did the repair on my Screen and I had to replace the ENTIRE mother / backboard of my phone. Apple in Charleston said that computer advantage further damaged my Phone causing me to essentially have to get an entirely new phone. I contacted the manager of computer advantage and he never reached out to me again after initial contact after he said he would. I had to pay $350+ for them to essentially change my screen and damage my phone even further. read more

customer service is abysmal. Stopped in for a problem which I had already diagnosed - boy do they hate that! I got a snotty response about a diagnostic fee anyway; I asked him, isn't that part of the labor no matter what? Yes. So what difference does it make? Why tell me? anyway, know it all counterperson then continue to ask for my contact information - name address phone number the whole deal. I told him I was in the system, being a longtime customer. He evidently didn't believe me, so I had to recount all my identification information and... Lo and behold! He saw some of it pop up before I said it!. Jerk. He then wanted to charge me a $75 "turn in fee" or some crap, that I have never been charged before. I think it was because I was giving him a hard time. I've had varied experiences with this business over the years, some good some bad, but all a bit off. Some of the techs who work here seem to have difficulty talking to people, they lack social awareness and interaction I don't know if that's an indication of the kind of people who go into this work, or just the nature of retail itself, but talking to them sometimes can be like pulling teeth. Even when I call and ask who I'm speaking to, most people just give their name in order to be sociable, you're making small talk on the phone, it makes sense that you would want to, present yourself as a real human being. Not here. Here when I call, I have to repeat, "whom am I speaking to" two or three times and verbally chafe as if "why you would want to know?" It's just off-putting. My last visit, my Apple MacBook Air has a broken key; the letter T still types, it hasn't lost its functionality, but the tile itself has broken off and needs to be repaired. The quoted time to repair this is 3 to 5 business days, which I balked at, because I don't know anyone that can be without their laptop for more than three days. Especially when, it's just fixing a keyboard. And while I understand that this might be a more technically difficult repair than I'm giving credit for, I don't understand why I would take five days. I paid the deposit of $75 and I asked how much the clerk thought the repair would cost. Getting the estimate from them was exercise in futility. He said he didn't know, what it would cost with parts, and if few other mumbling because again, sometimes they have trouble relating to people. He eventually shrugged his shoulders and suggested it would be minimum over $400. For a keyboard? And that's just a low-end estimate, it may be several hundred dollars more because there's an issue with the USB-C ports as well. Throw that in there and the cost of repairs could balloon to well over $800. Considering I got the computer for just over $1100 back in 2019, I might as well buy a brand new computer or a refurbished one at that point. At one point, he went to the back to talk to a supervisor, who then suggested the same thing, noting that it would likely be over the $800 figure, but again that he had no idea. I looked at him and disbelief, and said, "so I could pay you the 75 for the deposit today, and I have no idea what the cost could be. You could virtually charge me anything you want at that point and justify it. You could come back and say it's over $1000 to repair it. How does that make any sense?" He just shrugged his shoulders and mumbled, "We won't know until we do a diagnostic." And forget either tech actually looking me in the face to display any kind of empathy or understanding. I'm convinced they're just not capable of it. In the end, I groused about the price grumbled, "Forget it," and walked out in a huff. They do fine work, when I've had issues they've taken care of it, but this general lack of good customer service is a bit infuriating in the end. I get that's not what they're there for, they're here to fix your computer. But that doesn't mean that you have to lose, a sense of humanity in dealing with people. That starts by having transparency in your estimates and dealing with people in a fair and responsible way. I'm not sure they're able to muster that. read more

I have used the local Computer Advantage store for purchase of new computers and repair of used. I have always been impressed with the quality of Apple products. However, on this occasion, when I carried my MacBook Air for hard drive repair, I was not told until I returned to pick it up that they no longer excepted checks. Since I do not carry credit cards, nor do I like to use credit cards, I was unable to retrieve my repaired computer. I had not been informed previously that they did not accept checks. There is no signage stating that they do not except checks. There is no indication on the receipt that they do not accept checks. Upon complaining to the clerk, I was informed that the corporate office had recently instigated that policy. 2 hours wasted; time without computer; cost of travel. Disgusted! read more

After Apple suggested to bring it to C.A. Definitely a shorter drive to Savannah, then Charleston, where the Apple Store is. I highly recommend C.A. Horrible experience and lost sales I am a professional designer and Apple developer. Three weeks prior I visited this shop to enquire about the new macbook pro. However I was undecided about buying the new macbook pro vs the mac pro hardware. I sale would be dependent on how the hardware functions when handling 4k footage in the apple final cut app. Then after I made my decision I would make my purchase with Computer Advantage. I requested a demonstration once the new macs arrived. The sales representative Cameron Gray explained to me that a demonstration could be arranged and to check back in 3 weeks when he anticipated that the new hardware would arrive. I called back and it was explained to me that they could not demonstrate the new hardware for. I was told that only if I purchased the computer could they offer me a demonstration. Its odd given that I can not make a purchase unless I decide which hardware fits me needs. Bottomline is that these people lied to me and wasted my time. They also lost my sale. Sad thing is that I was in a position to buy a mac pro and the new high-end mac book pro if I found it to be adequate for my needs. I am quite disappointed in this shop and would not recommend them to professional users or anyone for that matter. They don't seem to understand how the sales process works for creative professionals. Anyhow that's that. I shall just make my purchase either online or when I pop back out the San Francisco or NYC. As a busy professional I really don't have time to waste with unprofessional shops that are not committed to supporting their customer base, especially those of us who invest in the pro line series of Apple hardware. read more

I have been going to these guys for over 10 years. At first I went because I had no choice, they were the only apple authorized dealer in the area. They've changed locations, changed staff, and changed names, but they still remain the most comprehensive apple store in Savannah. Due to a series of unfortunate events I have been required to purchase and repurchase several MacBook Pro laptops over the years. Whenever I have an issue these guys have always done their best to recover my data, help me with whatever I've done to screw up my computer, and find the quickest way for me to get back to work. Recently I damaged my 5th MacBook Pro to the point where I was forced to bring it in. I called AppleCare and they told me to bring it to Computer Advantage. As it turns out my service was not covered under AppleCare (liquid damage) and I ended up using the SafeWare insurance that I purchased from Computer Advantage at the time I purchased my laptop. It seemed like an easy fix until SafeWare could not find my records and was unable to help. David from Computer Advantage has been on the phone with SafeWare numerous times to clear up the confusion, he personally saw to it that my laptop went back to Apple to be fixed, and he also made arrangements for me to borrow a loaner computer in order to keep my small business functioning. It is not physically possible for a small shop to completely restore every part that could possibly go wrong with a high tech device like a laptop. However, these folks have continuously gone above and beyond traditional customer service to ensure that machines are repaired correctly and quickly and that their customers are taken care of and back to work as soon as possible. I still find it odd that a city like Savannah does not have an actual Apple Store, but as long as Computer Advantage is in town I know there is someone trustworthy that I can go to with my questions, concerns, and disasters. read more

Absolutely the worst. It's been 5 weeks since I sent in my laptop and they still don't seem even close to being done repairing it. It's been a nightmare from the very beginning: my laptop was still in a queue a week and a half after I sent it in. Which is understandable I guess, but I called again a week and a half later and they told me that they needed my permission to send my laptop to Apple: could they not have given me a call for this? They literally did little to no work on it for 3 weeks and just let it sit there. OK, so I have them send it to Apple and I'm told that It should be ready over the weekend: Nope! I called them today, 2 weeks later, and was again told that it's gonna take another week or two till it's ready for pick up. At this point I'm just considering getting a new computer because I doubt I'm going to get my laptop before the end of the quarter. read more

Consistently excellent customer service and advice. I even had one of their service techs come to our new home and resolve some thorny issues, including several that Comcast could not. My system is now set up and humming beautifully. I don't think Apple itself could've done any better. read more

I am rating these guys at three stars Not one or five but just in the middle. Having brought in my MAC Book Pro from 2009 (5 years old) having serious "beach balling issues they performed a diagnostic and said all was well. If all was well it would not be doing what it was doing I refer to a previous post where they found nothing wrong and the gentleman took the unit to his servicer in CA and they looked at the logs and discovered failing RAM Anyway I purchased a new SSD drive and they installed it for me for $100.00 also installing the new OS at the same time. They could not obtain a new SSD drive so I had to go out and make the purchase myself Some service center Now all is really well with my 5 year old MAC They could do a better job if they just thought about it read more

I have a Macbook circa mid-2008 that for the past year has had a keyboard with several "dead" keys. Because my MB was out of warranty I just sucked it up and purchased an external keyboard a while back, but eventually (8 months later) found that carrying the extra keyboard was just too much! I bought the new iPad and I have a 4S iPhone but I still missed the convenience of using my MB for Word documents. So I sucked it up and walked into CA one day to ask about the repair, and the friendly gentleman (owner's brother from Cali) advised me to bring my Macbook in for diagnostics. Embarrassed beyond comprehension I waited a few weeks and carried my lame duck laptop in. After searching Google and numerous websites I was prepared to hear an amount close to the $300-400 range. Kevin the associate who took in my MB hooked it up to his system and then went into the back to ask the techs something. Then he came out and told me that my system had a "known issue" with the cracking case and dead keys. He told me that Apple may cover the repairs and I would only have to pay for labor - shock!!! He told me that it would take a couple of days to find out for sure and possibly a day or two for repair, no problem! After three days Kevin called and told me that it was covered and the repair would be $90 for labor and that I could pick it up the next day! I will tell you what, I had a terrible experience with a Apple Store in Ohio, but these guys at Computer Advantage were professional, courteous and most of all friendly! These guys are arrogant, dishonest and rude. They act as if a customer should be privileged that they have a problem with their computer and they are willing to look at it. Furthermore, they are inept and lie. I had a problem with my Macbook. It was there for repair. When an Apple representative called to check on it, they mailed it back to Apple, and called me the next day to say that Apple had asked them to do so. Having (unfortunately) gotten to know the Apple representative very well, I know that she did no such things. Avoid them! read more

On 2/20/15 I took my MacBook here to be fixed. The keyboard no longer worked and I wanted the entire top case to be replaced. The bottom of my computer had also warped due to the heat which is covered under AppleCare for my model according to the Apple website. I was told that they would look at my computer and call me in 24 to 48 hours to let me know what was going on and that I would have my computer back in 5 days max. After 48 hours I had not heard anything back. Because I had dropped my computer off on a Friday I figured that their 48 hour estimate did not include weekends, so I myself did not call back on Sunday (48 hours later). I called on Tuesday 2/24 after I had heard nothing about my computer. I was told (with a LOT of attitude) that they were still waiting to hear from Apple and that a special request had to be submitted for the parts. I was also told that the parts would be overnighted or worst case scenario be received on Saturday 2/28 and be fixed that day. The employee told me that I would receive a call back that day with an update. I did not hear anything from them. I waited all day on Wednesday and had heard nothing. I called Thursday 2/26 and they told me the exact same thing. I was promised that I would get a call back and that my computer would be ready to go soon. On Monday 3/2 and informed them that I was about to deploy. I stated that I needed my computer fixed as soon as possible and asked when it would be done, or if I should just pick it up and take it to another shop that didn't need Apple's approval and could get it done in time. The employee caught an attitude with me and told me that it was Apple's fault and not theirs. Although they never would explain to me what the hold up was. I was assured that I would get a call back and that my computer would be fixed by the weekend so that I could pick it up. On Friday 3/6 after not hearing anything I called back and asked to speak with a manager. I was told the same thing that I had heard before. I told the manager at this time that I needed my computer fixed immediately because I really needed to get it before I left. He told me that he didn't understand why the computer had been at the shop for 2 weeks with no solution (I was originally quoted a 5 day turn around time for my specific issues). He told me that he would personally contact Apple and call me back that evening. Of course, I didn't receive a call this day. On Saturday 3/7 I finally got a call from the manager. He informed me that Apple was making no exceptions and that my parts would not be sent and that my repairs could not be completed. Never in the course of this 2 week process was I ever informed that the repairs had been denied by Apple. Had I known this I would have taken my computer elsewhere. I am still confused as to why Apple would deny a claim on them fixing my keyboard because I was not wanting this fixed under warranty. Later that afternoon I went to go pick up my computer from Computer Advantage. I was never issued an apology for them keeping my computer for so long. I explained to them how frustrating it was for them to keep my computer for 2 weeks knowing that Apple had denied sending them the parts and preventing me from taking my MacBook elsewhere. I was then told that I needed to pay a $35 "diagnostic fee". They didn't diagnose anything on my computer, nor did they have me initial the box that said I agreed to the diagnostic fee when I dropped my computer off. I found this to be extremely shady. I ended up getting the fee waived, but I assume that most people end up paying for this without realizing it or agreeing to it when dropping their electronics off. I would recommend that you stay away from Computer Advantage at all costs. Not only were they completely unprofessional when it came to managing the delivery and ordering of parts, but they were rude to me on several occasions and gave me the runaround multiple times knowing that they could not help me. This place really screwed me over. Not only did this add to the stress that I already had on my plate prior to deploying, but now I am leaving with a broken computer. read more

I called them to ask if they worked with apple. The guy told me yes. I asked how much to replace the battery. They said $59, I told him I seen where it was $29 for a 6,6s,or 7, he said that stop Dec.2018.So I looked online and seen it did. But it was now $49. I called him back and he said he would do it. But then when my boyfriend took it up there he said it would be around$300 it was not the battery. So he took it some where else and it was the battery. read more

I brought my Apple watch in after 2 weeks of trying to pair it back to my iPhone and then took it over to Geek Squad and they had no clue as to how to fix it which was to my surprise because they have always worked on Our computers before no problem,So i took it over to Computer Advantage and Luke Buckner the Apple Specialist there was so nice and helpful and fixed my problem within 10 minutes,I am so Grateful i will always go to Computer Advantage with my Apple Products,Luke knows exactly what he's doing and is so very nice,Most will just blow you off because they have no idea what their doing,So a Big Thank you Luke :-) read more

AMAZING service!! The display on my laptop unexpectedly gave out just as I was in the virtual on boarding process for a new job. The staff at Computer Advantage did everything in their power to ensure that I had my device back ASAP. The customer service was pretty good. My iPhone touch screen became unresponsive after a recent software upgrade. I made an appointment online, and received both a confirmation email and a reminder email one hour before my appointment. They explained my options and repaired my phone in about an hour. Just went and asked for a USB to MAC adapter, guy took a look at me once and said no ma'am and turned around. The adapter was right in front of me BUT good thing there was a Best Buy right across the street. Was in Savannah and has an iMac, which was experiencing frequent power outages. We researched and discovered Computer Advantage is the only Apple Authorized Service Provider in Savannah. As an IT tech for a production company in Hollywood, I am very familiar with these units and thus called and spoke with the service tech at Computer Advantage who suggested I have my Mom bring in her iMac. After performing diagnostics on this iMac, we were advised by the Computer Advantage guys that there was NO issue that they could find, and then charged $25 for them to perform diagnostics. After a few days, the power outage issue reared its ugly head once again, and after taking the iMac back to the guys at Computer Advantage only to be advised, once again, that there was no issue, afterwards I had my Mom ship her computer to me in LA. I took her iMac to a place called Melrose Mac in Hollywood, who is the vendor where I purchase all my Apple products, as well as services all of our Apple equipment, and they ran diagnostics (specifically checked the crash logs) and immediately determined the problem to be bad RAM, which they replaced, and 6 months later we have yet to experience another issue. Given my experience, I think these guys at Computer Advantage need considerably more training from Apple before they are designated as an Apple Authorized Service Provider. read more

I showed up with a completely broken iPad Pro and was helped immediately and reassured that it could be fixed within a reasonable price given the damage I had done. Since this is the only Apple authorized store in the Savannah area, I have come in here several times. The store looks very much like an actual Apple Store, and the staff have been very helpful. I went this week with a phone problem and the man that assisted me didn't try to sell me anything, but told me it'd be cheaper for me to try to take it to Apple and have them replace it. Several major hardware problems over the years have been quickly fixed and turned around in less than 24 hours--seized up harddrive replaced in 24 hours with all data restored from backup; battery and case repair on laptop done in about an hour and a half. Do NOT take your computer here for ANY kind of repair. They truly are like a bunch of used car salesmen. I took my computer here and they told me it was going to cost me $1500 because the hard drive was ' gone, nothing on it '. I suggested to them it was the video card...after researching issues with my computer make and model I had discovered this was a common problem that Apple were repairing at no cost. After telling Computer Advantage not to do any more with it, that I was coming to pick up my computer and take it to the Apple Store in Charleston, I get there and one technician tries to get me to go into a back office with him, he wants to show me something with my computer....car salesman technique, totally ignoring my wishes to have my computer ready for pick-up, trying not to let a potential $1500 sucker off the hook. The Apple Store confirmed my suspicion that it was indeed the video card ( their fault ) and have replaced it at NO COST to me. I repeat, DO NOT take your computer to these scam artists...the drive to Charleston is a nuisance but worth it. read more

This is the worst place. I decided to go here through apple care recommendation as I am a graduate student and I can't afford to drive or mail in my laptop. The customer service is horrible. I have to call to get updates. They initially told me my laptop would take 3-5 days and it is now been 8. Wednesday (it is now Saturday) they called and asked me to bring an external hard drive for the back up I requested and also that I had to pay extra for the partition back up. This was not initially told to me on the first day for the $50 back up. Furthermore, they next day deliver their parts, supposedly. My laptop was supposed to have been done Thursday. I called Friday and an agent stated he would call me back. He didn't. And now my laptop will not be completed until next week. I am still waiting Just drive the two hours to an apple store if you have apple products. I've had the same problem with my laptop before and apple did not require an external. They called with updates and it only took 4 hours ( for free as well with warranty). No one has yet to apologize for the delay or anything. Just don't do it. read more

Brought in my laptop to get it fixed. When I went in to pick up my laptop, there were 2 new finger long scratches to my laptop. They said they will call me the next day to inform me if Apple will cover it. They never called me. When I called them the next day, he admitted he never called them but still told me (without even asking) they are not going to cover it.
