5 MONTHS LATER... yes five months and still, we have not received the projector we dropped off on June 18, 2019. No information on the status of our device. NO answers. Nothing. We've had to hunt down the employees for any information or updates. We were given ridiculous excuses for why we have not received our device. On top of the terrible customer service, our projector is now MORE BROKEN than when we left it with them initially (though an employee tried to lie and say that it did not project when we left it with them). We cannot take the device from them in its current state because as soon as it leaves their care, we become responsible for damages. Awesome. And there has been no indication that they intend to fix the projector. Our projector had a color issue that started in June (whites were blown out and reds were a strange color). We dropped it off with their staff, and for months have been told everything from "the technician working on your device quit", to "the protests in Hong Kong mean no one is answering the phone so we have no idea when the parts will come in", to "the parts we received were incorrect so we had to start over", to (my favorite) "I have no idea what's going on, you'll have to wait for the owner". I've also been told by multiple staff that they have no contact information from the owner and he just "shows up" every couple of months. Hard to believe that not one staff member has any contact with him. It was only after posting a one-star review that we were contacted by the owner. He made it clear that his only motivation in resolving the issue was for us to remove the one-star reviews. This conversation was on August 12. After updating the review, the owner insists we talk on the phone and would not communicate via email. In the three months since, We have yet to receive any updates, much less our device. Essentially, if you go here, I would expect that your device will be lost in a void of excuses and poor management. I highly doubt you would ever see it fixed. You most likely will not see the device at all. read more

I had a good experience with this business. My laptop went crazy on me and decided to stop working during the week of my finals in December 2019. I did not need my laptop to stay 48 hours anywhere as I had a lot of work pending in a timely manner within 24 hours. Much of my work was already on the computer and I foolishly did not have a backup. It was not possible for me to start over. At one point I thought I was going to fail all of my courses. Then I came across Computer Answers who told me over the phone that he can fix it within a couple of hours. Indeed my laptop was fixed and visible in 2 hours, however the touch screen was out when we check. Immediately he fixed it on the spot which took about 15 minutes. His service was phenomenon. He knew my situation and did what he needed for the time. He let me know that I had warranty, and if there was any problem to bring the computer back. I was able completed all of my assignments for the next 2 weeks, but the touch screen stopped working again after 2 days. I was still able to complete my work. I enjoyed Christmas the following week, relaxed my brain for the New Years before stressing about my laptop. Today February 2020, I took the laptop back for the technician to address the touch screen. He confirmed I had a warrantee and took the laptop without a problem. He was courteous and displayed a good personality. There was other customers inside and quite a few phone calls so I can tell he was busy, still he took the time to show me how to connect my new touchscreen monitor to an old desktop tower. I anticipate getting my laptop tomorrow as my experience thus far with this business seems to be great. read more

Purchased a surface laptop in Dec2016, recently keyboard stop working and the machine failed boot up. Took to Microsoft store on 5th Ave. The manager Rob insisted since the machine cannot boot up, there is no way for them to figure out the problem. So they convinced me to buy a new Surface for another $1,230. Then I found "Computer Answers" in Williamsburg. EJ used less then 10 min. detected the problem - a IC chip was burned out, need only $150 to replace it. Not only that, he even spent 5 hrs to help me transferred all the data to a backup hard drive with almost no charge. He then explained maintenance details to me. BTW, I am not a young hot sexy girl ;-), I am a 75 year old lady. In some businesses, would simply be ignored and pushed away. EJ is different. His patient, his understanding, his caring, and his put customer first ethic has drawn a bold line between this small corner repairing shop and that giant fancy glass door Microsoft store on the fifth avenue. PS: I went back to Microsoft on the 5th Avenue to return the newly purchased Surface, manager Rob was rude, when I asked to talk to a higher level manager, he said, no one else, I am the King here, it's my say!...... I came in to have a cracked screen on my iPhone replaced. The technician asked me if I wanted to learn how to fix it myself. I said yes. He showed me how to fix it. The repair appeared successful. The service was excellent. Two weeks later I was out of town and the phone died. It also wouldn't accept a charge. I took the phone to an apple technician who said the motherboard had fried as a result of the prior replacement of the cracked screen and cited faulty screws. Because I was still out of town, I purchased a replacement phone. I came back to Computer Answers and asked to either have the original phone repaired or to receive a refund for the damages. The technician suggested I pay him more money to run a diagnostic test. I said I didn't think I should have to pay the store more money. The technician became angry and aggressive. He repeatedly called me a liar. He said his boss would laugh in my face if he was there. He then threatened to share video footage of me repairing the phone in the store online. I felt unsafe and threatened by his behavior. This type of treatment is unacceptable. read more

Computer Answer's saved me by removing a very stripped screw from a heatsink fan for my ssd m.2 slot on my motherboard. With this being my first build ever, I didn't want to ruin it anymore than I did. After searching yelp for computer repair shops, I came across Computer Answers after seeing they had successfully removed someone elses stripped screw (at least i'm not alone!). I knew I had to check them out, and I was glad I did. I brought my mobo down to the Brooklyn shop and a exceptionally helpful employee worked very hard to remove a nearly impossible screw to remove. They charged me an affordable price and even helped me install my ssd drive right there. They assured that if I had anymore issues, to come on down to the shop and they could assist and help. I'm now typing from my new computer, and my first PC build was successful and a big part of that was because of Computer Answers saving my a$$ They are a great solution if you need any repairs done on your computers or hardware, and I couldn't recommend them enough. read more

I will never go to an apple store ever again! My 2015 macbook pro died on me. I vowed that this would be my last new mac I'd ever buy because usually the apple store would just tell me it would be cheaper to get a new mac. That happened to me twice. I thought I'd try this place, because I had nothing left to lose. If the mac couldn't be fixed, I'd just buy a cheap pc and be a linux user for the rest of my life. In an hour this place had my mac running like it was brand new! I couldn't believe it. And it was a mother board issue, which the liars at the "genius" bar always say is not worth fixing. Sorry. I wanted this review to be more about how wonderful this place is instead of a negative review of the apple store. The price was way less than I expected plus they gave me a discount. So I went in with my Mac Book. I have just recently bought this device about a year ago or so. Not sure what the problem is so I had went to apple. Did not have apple care so apple wanted me to buy a whole new machine. Well I can't afford that too much of an expense at the moment. One of my close friends then had told me about computer answer and their professionalism. I was like why not give it a try. Went over there and what can I say these guys are the best. I truly mean quick prompt and on time. They told me what was wrong and what they needed to do to get it right. Good thing they had the part in stock but 3-5 business days wait would have not been that bad. Got my computer back same day within a couple hours. They also were able to retrieve my data that's what I needed the most literally saved my life. The turn around time was great. I have a gaming pc from Digital Storm for about 2 years and until last week it kept giving me problems by turning on and off every two minutes. My friend recommended me to Computer Answers, because he always gets his electronics repaired there and it lasts. I called and they told me 2-3 days because they were busy. I met with Kane later on in the week and said he will get the job done. He called me 2 days later saying my PC had water damage because it has leaking from the cooling system going onto the motherboard. He promised me to fix it the same day , guaranteed. He called me later on in the day to tell me it's ready, I went in that day and everything is working like brand new. I was so relieved. They even cleaned and dusted out my pc for free and gave a 5 month warranty, if anything else happens to it. I definitely recommend coming here. I loved the customer service! read more

Not Really bad or good. Just bait and switch. I spoke to Paul on the phone, and mentioned my HD drive was not being mounted even though it spins. NO bad noise either. He mentioned it may need new head. I asked how much, and he said around $500. I said that's too much. He continued to say how much would you spend on fixing it, I said half of that. He said to bring it and he will fix it at that price. Dropped it off with a 2nd drive to write the image to, 2 days later I received a call from an employee saying it will cost $1500 to fix a dead drive which is worth $100 max and any parts it may have may cost less than $50. Long story short, I just picked up my unit, hoping it wasn't damaged, and mail it to a company which recover any data for $300 with physical damage repair (If Needed) I was trying to save mailing back and forth. read more

This past weekend I stopped in to Computer Answers in Williamsburg to have data transferred from a 9-year-old Windows 7 laptop to a 4-year-old Windows 10 laptop (which had not been turned on in four years!). I had to do this in a panic since Windows 7 will no longer receive Microsoft support in January 2020. My newer laptop had to update four years of data for Windows 10, and I had no idea of how to start. EJ was fantastic and was extremely patient with the transfer of my data which took quite a significant amount of time due to the necessary Windows 10 updates. I am so thankful that Computer Answers was open on a Sunday and that EJ was available. Many thanks to a wonderful resource in Williamsburg. I took my MacBook Pro to three other spots who misdiagnosed the problem. After spending money to have the fan replaced, the battery replaced and more ram added I was still having issues. I spent a ton of money doing multiple repairs to find the problem still not fixed. I walked by the tiny store front of Computer Answers (just around the corner from my house as it turns out) and thought I might as well try. Not only did the diagnose the problem properly (it needed a better graphics card) they had it Back to me within a couple of days and for a great price. I will never go anywhere else. Also noticed they do phone repairs which is SO good to know cause there's nothing else in the area. read more

Went for a diagnostic on my Macbook Pro, with a messed up screen. When the diagnostic was going to take longer than expected, they let me take my computer home (to plug into an external monitor) and bring it back when they had more time. Brought it back a few days later, and they were able to repair it in 3 days. The two technicians had said they would only need to repair my graphics card and backlight, but the technician who performed the repair ran out of time and went ahead and replaced the whole screen, with no extra charge. The new screen is excellent and I'm so relieved to have a working laptop again. read more

amazing service, hot guys, what more could you wish for ?!??? in all seriousness, my cousin broke her phone not once but twice in the scan of 24 hours. the first time we dropped in, they fixed it quickly and the service was great. but when we dropped it the second time (our fault, not theirs) they not only fixed our screen for free, but threw in a tempered glass screen. hopefully we won't be back again (trying not to break another phone) HOWEVER if we ever break another phone, we'll never go anywhere else. read more

After multiple failed attempts with apple customer service and Genius Bar, I was left feeling frustrated and hopeless. I yelped iPad repairs and Computer Answers popped up, I called and then brought in my device and a couple hours later I now have my device back and it's working perfectly.
