I took my Apple Mac computer and and Apple laptop in two months ago for new hard drives and I still have yet to receive them. I've called on several occasions and have been told that only the owner of the shop is allowed to touch the Apple Mac because of how delicate they are. When I called two weeks ago I was told that I would receive a call within 24-48 hours to come pick them up. After not receiving a call I called this morning and they're still not ready. When I asked why they haven't been completed I was told it was because he's been in meetings and has had personal things come up for two months. This is getting ridiculous and completely unacceptable. If you are looking to get your equipment back within a reasonable amount of time I would definitely recommend staying away from this place. The communication has been horrible and the service has been even worse. The told me that my equipment would be ready no later than Thursday but I'm not getting my hopes up. read more

I was so so impressed because I had called several other highly rated Mac service companies who both quoted me 7-10 business days to get my computer looked at! I didn't actually use computer NERDZ! for the repair of my PC. I called them to inquire about diagnostic charge to determine the problem, and they advised me over the phone that my problem would most likely require a component replacement. Saved me time and money, and that's value I would expect them to pass on to actual repair customers. read more

Had a bit of a meltdown the other day when my external hard drive was all-of-a-sudden empty. I wonder what it's like to always deal with customers that are in a state of panic?! The fantastic people here were just what I needed. They do some very small data recovery work, but luckily mine fit into that category... if you need major recovery they have a place they recommend you to use. My name is Krys and I am technologically challenged. It is for that reason that I needed Computer Nerdz to help me with a new desktop setup I was working on that involved external monitor, two printers, a laptop, and some other crap I didn't even know what is called. So, I went in like a big dummy and came out armed with all the necessary cables and knowledge to make it happen. They also helped me set up a back-up system (woops, I wasn't doing that...) and did it at a really great price and I was overall super happy with my experience! Horrible Experience. I do not recommend any individual to bring their computer to computer NERDZ if you need a repair on your computer. I brought my computer in originally 4 months ago after a hinge came off while closing my computer. I took it in and was quoted with a 2 week turn around time but did not receive my computer until nearly 2 months later. After receiving my computer back the same day I noticed the back of my computer was still coming off after I just paid to have it fixed. I returned to computer NERDZ to be told by an employee that the Manager Lee stated "it is just going to have to be like that but it wont come apart again". I had to argue to have it be repaired correctly. After a week of having my computer again, I received it back and after only having it for 2 weeks the hinge broke again. I take it back into computer NERDZ and they try to charge me a bench fee to even look at it when its the same reoccurring problem that the claimed to fix and had to argue to have that payment removed. I get a call stating I would have to pay to have the same issue fixed and that "I am using my computer improperly and shut it way to hard". I have had this computer for 5 years and have owned a lab top for over 10 years. I know how to properly use a computer and shut a computer. A horrible establish and highly recommend going somewhere else for any hardware repair. read more

Highly recommend these guys. I was out of town and desperately needed a charging cable for my Lenovo smart book. I called them and they didn't have one, but one of the employees said that I could use his personal power cord. I arrived at the location and it was a very professional establishment. Everyone was polite and friendly and as mentioned they allowed me use the power source so I could finish some time-sensitive work. This above and beyond service. The 4 places I called before didn't have what I needed and rushed me off the phone. I will gladly recommend these guys to anyone in San Antonio. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. My iMac was with computer Nerdz for almost 3 weeks. They were unable to solve the problem with it. In attempting to resolve the issue, the technician on my case, Randy, just stopped returning my phone calls. Frustrated and certain that they didn't want to help me further, I picked up my computer. I took it to another place to find out that the person who put my computer back together did a very poor job. Weird wires were sticking out of ports and the ports were not lined up properly. The worst thing, though, is that my computer would not even power on. When I left my computer with them, it powered on. I called and, of course, Randy wasn't available. I talked with Phil, a manager, who promised he would look into it and give me a call back in 24 hours. No call at all. When I call back, neither Randy or Phil is available. Beware- do not use them! In response to Me. Lee's comment. I said my computer would turn on when I left it with Computer Nerdz. It had no power when I picked it up. I said nothing about it "booting up." When I dropped it off, one could hear the chime and input a password. When I took it home, it would not power on at all. There was also damage done to my original hard drive.... Small pieces were broken off of it. It was not in its original condition. Plus- you failed to give me back ALL my parts. Such horrible horrible communication. When some one picks up a computer, it is expected to be in at least the same condition as when it is dropped off. If it is not, the customer deserves an explanation. At no time was I told that the power supply had not been re-hooked up. I was never told that the original hard drive was now OUTSIDE of my computer. Randy led me to believe that I was given a back up hard drive. I was not given all my parts, and I had to pay for them to replaced by Apple. If you didn't want to put all the pieces back together to save you time and money, then the technician should have been upfront and said that. Computer Nerdz showed no pride in workmanship when they literally shoved some of the pieces back into computer while keeping other parts for themselves and damaging the last pieces. Plus, the problem was misdiagnosed by Computer Nerdz. The problem was never the motherboard, as I was told by Randy. It was the video card. They didn't even properly diagnose the problem! read more

I took my computer here a few years ago and paid quite a bit to get it fixed. Took it home and it still didn't work. Took it back and the tech on duty put his hands up and told me he didn't know anything about it. Took it to another shop and found out that the parts they put in were not compatible. read more

UGH! Where do I begin. I went in for a hard drive issue and mysteriously missing driver issues. First off, no one knows what anyone else is doing in there. My guy, Gilbert, never seemed to be in the office and the only thing the other people could tell me was that it was that my computer was "on the bench." After three days, I'm able to get a hold of Gilbert and he recommends that I get a new hard drive because it is failing. So I give them a new hard drive two days later. I let them "clone" my system to save me the headache of re-installing Windows and all of the software. Seven days later the issue of the drivers STILL wasn't fixed. I spoke with Gilbert and told him to keep working on it and if we have to re-install everything to call me and we can go from there. I called back later that day to say my husband was on his way to pick up the old hard drive that I needed to return to Dell. When he arrived they proceeded to give him the entire computer and a bill. Not what I had discussed with Gilbert, or the girl I spoke with later on the phone. So they did absolutely nothing but install a hard drive that I could have done myself. I had to call for status every other day as they never kept me in the loop. My goal was to not reinstall the software- That is why I went to these guys. So I guess I paid $96 to learn that they are not worth it. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Awful service. Their prices are ridiculous, they don't require any training from their technicians, and their staff is constantly changing. The owner/manager will negotiate with you, but only to his own self-satisfied standard of beneficence.
