First of all: http://www.gainesville.com/article/20100812/articles/100819830 They sold me a $30 ac power charger for $69 (which can also be found online for as little as $15). They charged me $30 to solve the problem I came in there asking about. They quickly asked for my laptop, and filed a report, leaving me with the notion that this could actually be a difficult problem, requiring some real trouble shooting. Basically for five minutes of their work, I was charged $69. They also may have done something to my screen, because after using my laptop twice afterward, it stopped turning on with the rest of the laptop. I recommend you go somewhere that has a few good ratings, and hopefully not planted there by the business itself. This rating is probably the only bit of repayment I will get for being shafted out of $70, being able to tell people what a terrible business this is. read more

Excellent, competent Computer software repair! My 8 year old Dell laptop refused to boot, or accept a clone of its hard drive I'd made a few years previously. CW re-installed Win 7 (that's what the computer had previously) and I was able to restore my files. read more

Use extra caution when bringing any computer to this establishment. Owner Mike is very rude. They refused to give a refund to a UF student who chose not to have work done there after miscommunication and rudeness. UF business partners would not treat students like that! read more

I bought the CPU from the store. I initially asked them to test it out at the store but they wouldn't and claimed that it worked. They told me that if it doesn't work, bring back my entire computer and they would test it there. So that is what happened. It did not work. So I brought the computer to the store and the technician immediate gave me attitude and said that as a computer person, my computer should not have that much dust. He went on to lecture me about how dust can clog up fans and conduct electricity when accumulated. But it turns out that he himself was not particularly keen at repairing computers. First off, he dropped my CPU, benting the pins. Later, he lost my CPU and RAM among the mixture of his own. I still do not know if what I got back is my own or not. After about an hour of testing, he gave up. And the owner of the store asked me if I would like to buy a CPU+Motherboard combo from them at a good price instead. I agreed to that. I then came back to find out that what I just bought is not new, as they claimed. The motherboard did not come with any manuals, cables....nothing like that. The box was also banged up. But anyways, I put in the new board expecting a good upgrade. But as soon as I turned it on, it fried one of my RAM sticks. As soon as I smelt the smoke, I pulled the power cable out, but it was too late. I went back to the store and asked for a refund. The owner initially insisted that he needs to charge me a "restocking fee". I then asked him what needs to be done for "restocking". He couldn't answer me so in the end he didn't charge me for that. But he did charge me for the "labor" his technician put into that. He claimed that since the technician was not there, he, the owner could not make a decision whether to give me refund for the labor or not. I mean, it sounds pretty ridiculous to me that the owner of the store has to get permission from one of his employee to issue a refund. I told them that they should have tested the parts more carefully and the owner got into a rage and starting cursing at me and saying that he will kick my a** out of the store. After about 10 minutes of cursing, he finally settled with me and gave me a partial refund, minus the labor charge. I went home feeling cheated by their customer service. I wrote them a bad online review and the site forwarded my review to the owner himself. As soon as he read it, he called me on my cell phone (which for some reason he had it saved) and told me that he is going to cancel my refund transaction because I gave a bad review and that I will not be getting my money back. Unbelievable. I called up my bank and they were really helpful. Turns out that they definitely consider this to be fraudulent activity and will file a claim against the store if necessary. read more

My friend a Vietnam Veteran went to Computer Wizz to have his Apple Laptop fixed. When he went to get it back they charged him in excess of $400.00 dollars for a hard drive and time that it took them to watch youtube videos on how to repair a MAC and still could not fix it. read more

I took my printer here in Jan 2014 and never got it back. I was told it was fixed 2 times and both times it was not.fixed when I arrived at the store and was unable to take it back home At first there was something wrong with the program and they needed time to figure it out.. I received another excuse the 2nd trip that it need another sensor. I was told to come get it finally that it could not be fixed and when I went to pick it up it was dismantled as were the other 4 printers like mine that I told to look at.. I was told by the owner to tell him which one was mine.He had no idea which one was mine there are no tags on the items in there. I told him my printer should at least be in the shape it was when I brought it there. The only thing wrong with it when I took it there was the cartridge would not go into the slot. These printer were in the shop were extremely dirty this workspace is a fire trap with not a speck of professionalism. I was told it would be put back together and I could come get in a couple of days. That was 2 months ago and they wanted to charge me over 60 dollars for breaking it worse. I don't know how this place stays in business. With junk inside and a junk motorcycle outside. Code Enforcement in the City of Gainesville should shut down this fire trap. read more

Holy crap steer fucking clear of this place. Me and another friend both got severely ripped off by this place. They never kept me updated on the progress of my computer and were often times difficult to reach. When I would call I would get some sob story excuse every time on why my computer was not ready. I had an extremely common brand of computer and after having my computer for over two and a half months, still did not have even the correct part. The worst thing is that they made me pay upfront for all of the services. Multiple hundreds of dollars. Stupid I know. After two and a half months I gave up and decided to call it quits. I went to go get my computer back from them and the owner I guess tried to shake my hand and say lets just call it even because of all the work he did. Fuck that. My computer was in the same exact spot it was in before, they ordered the wrong part from china, sent it back, and then still couldn't find it. All on my dime, and he had the nerve to ask me to call it even by letting him keep hundreds of dollars of my money. Terrible business practices, wasted my time. I still was only able to get about a third of my money back. I just had to cut my losses and move on. I just bought a new computer. Owner is also sketchy about taking credit cards and almost insisted on taking cash under the table. Hopefully they will shut this dump down. read more
