I was recently a patient at this urgent care and I was pleasantly surprised! I had never been to one so I had no idea of what to expect. At the center, they had bottles of waters for those waiting and the wait wasn't horrible at all. Dr. Badell was the doctor who saw me and provided excellent medical attention. I had fallen so we were not sure if I fractured anything. After x-rays, it was confirmed nothing was broken. The center was very clean and if I ever have to go to an urgent care, I would go there in a heart beat. FYI - I noticed they had a rehab section there too. read more

We went on a Saturday about 130p. Waiting room almost empty, which seemed like a good sign. The receptionist was friendly& professional. After a few minutes of waiting someone who I assumed to be a nurse came out from behind the counter and shouted across the room to a patient about why his paperwork so old. The guy shouted back some answers, personal ones, it seemed ...a few minutes later, the same nurse came out and said "Yo, let's go !" to the patient. Weirdly unprofessional& rude, also uncomfortable for the rest of us. The nurse who saw us after about a 30 min was kind and professional. The dr. Did not come in for 1 HOUR after that & when he did it was with no chart, & empty handed. He leaned against the door& crossed his arms and looked like a scared chicken. After about 1 min after my friend described her symptoms he basically said she was having anxiety & there was nothing he could do bc he was afraid of going to prison. At least that's what I think he said bc his English was broken& barely intelligible. When I asked one question, he turned to me and asked me to leave despite the fact that my friend said she wanted me there bc she was having trouble speaking. So, 3 h hours & $160 for a 5 min discussion and no care. read more

These people are awful. I steped on a nail early in the morning while working on my own fence at home. Couldnt take care of it at that moment so I went to work and then when I was done I went in. While I was working I had my girlfried call my insurance and find out an urgent care center where they would accept my insureance. They told her that Concentra Medical Center did. So she called them to verifi and ask how long the wait would be. They told her that yes they do accept my insurance and that the wait at the current moment was about 1 hour to 1.5 hours. I was close by so I went there. I went in and spoke with the same girl my girlfriend spoke with. She remembered my girlfriend right away. She had me sign in and take a seat. After about 45 min I went up to see if there was anything I could do to speed up the process and start filling out paper work. A different person asked me if the injury happened while I was working on something so I said yes. So she handed me whatever forms I had to fill out and then I went to fill them out. While I was filling them out, one of the forms were for workers comp. I went up to the same person and told her that this was not a workers comp case and I think she gave me the wrong form. She told me "Well you told me that you did this while working. SO it has to go through workers comp." I told her "No, I was working on my fence at home and not at work. You asked me if this injury happened while I was working on something and I told you yes. Not if this injury happened while I was at work." The manager was next to her and she steped in and said "Becuase you said it happened while you were working on something that means we have to do it through workers comp. We cant change it now, thats against the law." They still didnt want to believe that this happened to me while at home, not getting paid and working on my own fence. The manager and I went back and forth for several minutes before I got upset and asked if there was anything they can do through my regular insurance. When she said yes and asked me what insurance I had, SHE told me that they dont accept my insurance. The exact opposite from what my insurance said to me and the girl that spoke with my girlfriend said to me. Just so I wouldnt have to wait at another place I wanted to know what it would cost out of pocket to pay to get my tetnus shot there. They told me just to see the doctor it would be $150 plus whatever the shot would cost. For that I would just go to emergency urgent care and pay $100 with my insurance. I was so upset that I just waisted 50 minutes of my life there. I just left. I ended up going to another place not frar from my house and it only cost me $15 and I was in and out in 20 minutes at 6pm. Ill never go back to this place and will never speak well of it. read more

I accidentally chopped a piece of my pinky off and I cannot stress enough how terrible I am with blood and pain. I decided to go to concentrate because I knew the ER would make me wait way too long and I defiantly thought it possible to bleed out from the pinky. As soon as I walked in with my "emergency" they took me straight into a room and attended to me. After being there for less than 3 minutes I was seen by a doctor. They never once made me feel like my "emergency" was not really an actual emergency. They dealt with my loud screams and cries and soothed my the best they could. My stitches are healing well and no infection or side effects have arisen. I am looking forward to returning for my check up and I now know, with or without insurance I will always go to concentra for all my "emergencies". read more

I came in with my 13 year old who was feeling extremely poorly. We were one of only a few people at Concentra but waited over an hour and a half. We listened and waited while a lady on crutches, who btw arrived in the front waiting area at least 20 minutes after us, was brought back, put into the room next to us, seen, given X-rays, re-examined and dismissed. When the doctor finally strolled in, he asked my daughter if she had fever or if any associates or co-workers were sick. Helloooooo-- did you even glance at her chart? She is 13, you knucklehead, and the nurse took her temp over an hour ago-- both of these facts were on the chart he quite clearly ignored. How some people keep their jobs is a mystery to me. When the doctor sensed my annoyance at his lack of any knowledge as to my daughter's condition or chart, he audaciously became rude. When I asked how much longer it would take for a shot to be given (she had strep), his response was that the nurse was busy and would be come back when she could; he then turned his back and closed the door without another word to either my daughter or I. No instructions were given to us about what she should or should not do, nor did he bother to wish my child well. Again, she is 13, had waited a very long time, felt horribly and got treated as though she was a nuisance vs. the sick girl she clearly was. CVS minute clinic beats this place to death but unfortunately closes at 7pm. I'd recommend ANY other urgent care over this one. Two thumbs way down. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!! read more

Yesterday morning, I had a minor accident with a door and my ankle. Immediately, I thought of looking up a nearby urgent care since the hospital's emergency room are usually crowded and slow. I was pleasantly surprised this center was open before 9 am. The attendant at the front asked if the bleeding was controlled (it was) and gave me the required forms that I promptly filled out. I was thirsty and hungry so the bottle of water & pretzels provided were right on target as I waited to be seen. After about 10-15 minutes I was weighed & pressure taken & placed in a room. A pleasant male nurse took my medical history & made small chit chat about my accident & assured the doctor would come by soon. And he did. Dr Badell came in & put me at ease with his explanations, thorough examination & directions to the nurse to flush the wound in preparation for stitches. I didn't feel rush & appreciated the time that the doctor took in sharing & connecting with me as a patient and as a person. He also has a sense of humor. The preliminary cleaning & anesthesia shots hurt & I instinctively reached out to what was nearby. (The Doctor's hair). He calmly replied that I was free to pull his ears also. I got about 5 internal & 10 external stitches. The wound was wrapped and I was given a tetanus shot & verbal & written wound care instructions. Not that I want another medical emergency that requires a repeat visit, but I know that if I were to have it there is a nearby competent urgent care center where I will receive excellent medical attention & TLC that is often needed when these emergencies arise. Today ,January 30, 2014, I went to the Concentra Urgent Care at 10205 S. Dixie HWY #102, Miami FL. I arrived at the center around 8:30, with a shoulder's pain. I filled all the paperwork necessary. The receptionist do not speak Spanish. After 20 minutes waiting a nurse came for me, and took my weight and height. She took me to a room and answered all questions. She asked me which was the my most convenient pharmacy. I told her that the CVS 14705 SW S Dixie Miami FL, but I specify to her that today I wanted a written prescription to pick up in the road to work. After being examined by the doctor, she recommended to performed an x-ray and they do so. Thanks to God , there were not a mayor problem. The Doctor told me that she was not an expert in X-ray, but she doesn't see anything wrong. I asked for the prescription and they told me that the prescription was sent by mail. Then I asked that I wanted a written prescription, and they told me that I have to wait for the Doctor that was with another patient. I decided to leave the place and go directly to the pharmacy. When I arrived they haven't received the prescription, I called them again asking for my prescription. And the person told me that will take one hour to be sent by email. I asked them if they can send the prescription by fax and they told me, that I have to wait for the email. Then I asked the pharmacy person to asked them to fax it, THEY FINALLY SENT TWICE AN EMPTY PAPER, WITH NO PRESCRIPTION ON IT. After 2 hours and a half the pharmacist called and they told him the prescription, NEVER received the prescription. The service was horrible and I will never will use the center again.
