Ok soooo I had to go in for a drug test. Work related ofcourse. The lines were long and super slow. Crowded. Ugh. Riiiiiight? But to my surprise I learned I could register from the comfort of my own truck. I was in my truck for about two hours. Not to bad considering I got to watch the clouds. Listen to music go through emails somewhat clean my truck and get a little sun take random pics. So they called me to let me know I was next. Than a call to come in. Staff were awesome. I noticed most weren't wearing masks except staff they were all masked. Sooooo I put on my creepy mask and went in. I think my get up made folks nervous. Lol in the wack it was Clean. The nurse was awesome. I'd definitely recommend. But bring your mask and phone charger as you'll be there a bit.

Elca was thorough, organized, asked me questions about my insurance to confirm information and was a great stick. She was pleasant, she was quick. This department is not always as efficient as I frequently have blood work done here and there are often long waits, lulls in taking patients back and slow and poor sticks. that was not the case with Elca. She and the young lady working the window today were very helpful and efficient.

I was seen by a doctor and tended to by a nurse. Approximately three hours later after waiting in that room, I was told that I needed to stay overnight for observation. I had some questions about things that need to be done in my home if, I would get my meds and if I could get some food. I was reassured twice by the doctor and the nurse that I would be getting something to eat & my meds. I wasn't taken up to the observation room until 8:30 PM. At no point between the time arrived and that time was I offered any water any type of snack etc. The nurse attending to me in the observation room told me he thought he might have some meatloaf or turkey. I told him I don't want the meatloaf maybe the turkey, then he said I don't think you really want it. I'm guessing it wasn't fresh. Wasn't until around 8 o'clock the next morning that I was actually bought some food making it 24 hours since I had any food in me. The hospitalist Dr.Lacombe came to see me shortly there after. She wrongly stated that I was taking metoprolol for anxiety, which I wasn't. She said I would have to contact my PCP to get a new anxiety medication and then I should stop the metoprolol immediately and double up on the lisinopril. My PCP, Dr. Charles Wasserman confirmed that. I have tried to get that wrong information regarding my discharge notes to be corrected. I have spoken to Amy in Jeanes Advocacy who referred me to write a letter to Nora Mcann, which I did, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

One time when this happened and I called them on it, the psychiatrist tried to placate me with compliments about my looks, which made me feel very uncomfortable and upset. I was glad that my therapist was also there to witness this, and she even said how that was totally inappropriate for him to be doing and apologized. After that, I requested a new psychiatrist. The new psychiatrist proceeded to gaslight me when she said I arrived too early for the appointment(even though it was over an hour after scheduled appointment time when she finally contacted me via phone)! Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy...I wish I could give it negative stars.... I really felt a lack of empathy for my issues(except for my therapist who was great), which is concerning when you are in that space of care. Luckily I have found a new behavioral health organization that seems to really try and help me deal with my issues.

They were also super nice to me. It was a quick process and everyone was super polite and patient. It was actually a very good service from everyone that works there I had also made a phone call to make sure my appointment was in the system since I made an online appointment thru PPDirect . I was hesitant because of the other reviews but decided to come anyways and the other reviews I've seen on this place are very wrong to the experience I had since I was treated so nicely by all of the staff, even the guy who picked up the phone when I called was super nice to me. It was efficient and just a top tier service. And just to add more to this, I asked for someone to hold my had during the insertion of the implant and I must say that was an a professional level hand holding, and also I didn't not need to hold her hand because the insertion was very painless I didn't even notice when they were done. (They gave me and ice pad to take home and use) Don't be scared to come here because they are super nice, gentle and caring.

All the staff members here are genuinely kind and attentive, which sets the tone for a positive experience from the moment you walk in. PARKING The parking situation at this new location is a massive upgrade from their previous spot--it was nearly impossible to find a space back then. Now, there are consistently open parking spots available, which makes visits so much easier. The one caveat is that the entrance requires making a U-turn onto Grant Avenue, which can be tricky given how busy that street is. It's a minor inconvenience, but the abundance of parking more than makes up for it. OFFICE/ATMOSPHERE The waiting rooms throughout the building are quite small, which becomes apparent at times. I've visited in January, November, and April, and the office frequently ran out of chairs. The wait times themselves are reasonable, but the limited seating can make waits feel a bit uncomfortable. This is definitely something they could improve on. DOCTOR INFO I've been seeing Dr. Bano for about 3-4 years now, and she's exceptional. My sister actually introduced me to her, and we're both big fans. What really sets Dr. Bano apart is her genuine commitment to finding what works best for you. She was the first doctor to properly fit me for contacts after years of visits to other offices where I was just told to stick with my old prescription. When my contacts started feeling uncomfortable in the last year. Dr. Bano took the time to refit me properly. It wasn't just about grabbing the first option; she worked through the process with me, even when my initial reaction to her first choice wasn't positive. She respected that as the patient, I know what feels right in my own eyes, and she was willing to adjust until we got it right. That level of care and attentiveness is rare, and it's why I keep coming back. BUYING EYEGLASSES HERE While shopping around at ReFocus, I had an excellent experience with their eyeglasses specialist. He has a real talent for styling and great communication skills. When I tried on frames he recommended, styles I never would have chosen myself, I felt an immediate boost in confidence. His eye for what works is genuinely impressive. However, I cannot recommend purchasing glasses here. The pricing is significantly marked up beyond industry standards. The Sophia Loren M317 frames cost $90 from the manufacturer, but ReFocus was charging $219 just for the frames. A whopping $550 for the frames and lenses combined. I found the exact same frames online for $183 total. $90 for the frames and another $90 that covered the prescription, thinner lenses, and the company's profit. They even came with a gorgeous collapsible leather case and all the eyeglasses accessories you could imagine. I also purchased a similar pair from another online retailer for just $40 with every upgrade imaginable: blue light filtering, impact resistance, thinner lenses, & fashion tint. For context on the pricing: The industry standard is a 40-60% profit margin. ReFocus is operating at 201% profit (I did the math), which is absolutely excessive. As someone without health insurance coverage for glasses, this is genuinely a rip-off. My advice: visit ReFocus to see how frames look on you in person and get the names of styles you love. Use that information to shop online, where you'll find dramatically better prices. CONCLUSION ReFocus Eye Health deserves credit for their caring staff and Dr. Bano's exceptional patient-centered approach to eye care. The new location offers superior parking, and the office atmosphere is pleasant despite the seating limitations. If you're looking for quality eye exams and expert medical care, this is a great choice. Just be sure to handle your eyeglasses purchases elsewhere, the frames and lenses are simply priced too high here to justify buying them. You shouldn't have to go broke for eye health or a good pair of glasses!
