My review is specifically for Van-Minh Nguyen, PA-C My experience with Concentra being beyond frustrating it's outright negligent. My work restrictions were changed without any notice, explanation, or even a basic conversation with me. Making medical decisions that directly affect someone's safety without informing them is completely unacceptable. The provider handling my case, a PA, demonstrated a shocking level of incompetence and indifference. It honestly felt like I was just a box to check off rather than a patient. My concerns were clearly not taken seriously, and there was zero effort to communicate or provide any kind of thoughtful care. What's most concerning is that someone who has supposedly spent years in medical training could deliver such careless and mediocre treatment. If this is the standard of care here, that says a lot about the company as a whole and none of it is good. This office feels disorganized, unprofessional, and completely disconnected from the well-being of the people they're supposed to help. Patients deserve transparency, respect, and basic competence, none of which I experienced. Avoid this place if you have any other option. Your health and safety deserve far better than what this office provides. read more

Don't go here for urgent care. This place is primarily set-up for worker's comp. Van-Minh Nguyen was my clinician and he isn't nice but he gets very distracted and off-topic. He misdiagnosed my injury and only corrected his diagnosis during my second visit. He isn't a doctor or a PA. The office staff are all super friendly but often times are more focused on their internal socializing than patient care. Same thing with their PT department, but they do seem to care about your progress / getting better. I didn't have a choice in going here due to the worker's comp. read more

This Concentra is better than ones I've had to go to previously and is super close to my house! Had to do some pre-employment tests/physical here and waited about 2 hours to be seen (no appointments, walk-ins only for pre-employment stuff). I was here about 10 minutes before they opened and there was a line of 5 people already. The check in process was simple and there's a decent amount of seats in the waiting area; they also play movies to help pass the time which was nice. When I was finally seen, I had to wait another 30 minutes in the doctor's office for the physical and that lasted literally 5 minutes. Overall, staff is really nice but the wait times are crazy long. Do not go here for workers comp injury. Drive to a different facility because the doctors here are unethical in their care for your injury and will absolutely lie to your face. They took oaths to do no harm but have no integrity or interest in your healing. This has been the worst medical care I have ever received and the rudest doctors I have ever met and there is no reason for them to be this way. Everyone wants to heal and go back to work regardless if it's work related or not but you need to be able to go back to work able to do your job too. Are they getting kick backs or bonuses for denying what patients are telling them and just sending patients back not healed from injuries? i Don't know. What I do know is that they don't treat you like a person. They don't treat you like you matter. They don't treat you like they care about your injury or healing you. You walk in and they don't even greet you because they're too busy talking to each other going on and on about their travel plans and personal life. Mieryta I think her name is, is rude and incompetent. She says she will "send u a text" to register for parking but never does. She's very unfriendly and unorganized. At first she never asked me for my license plate number even though she asked everyone one after me that came in. I eventually asked her if she wanted mine as well and she said "I did ask you but you never said anything so I can't help you if you don't tell me" I'm just so shocked she said that to me. I have an appointment but i was still in this place at least three hours. I was told when i made an appointment " it will be quick , yea you come early we open at 7" Well my appointment was 8:15 so i was at the door at 7:30 but they don't open till 8 Everyone at the desk and inside are very nice . A followup would be nice regarding the wait , i had to get up twice to remind them my appointment, i noticed they were calling people before me - remind you i was the first person at the door and i have an appointment. Came here for a medical re-certification for work. Lobby was full. Nowhere to sit at first. Signs literally posted everywhere that says "masks required" and yet more than half the people inside were without one. They don't even enforce the mask rule here. I do truly hate to leave bad reviews and you can look at 99% of my reviews to verify that I hardly leave negative ones, but wow this overall experience was awful. At check-in, they didn't even tell me how long it would take. I was here for over 5 hours. The overall experience would be better if we could set up appointments through a system, and at least separate the walk-ins from services that need an appointment (drug screen, physical, medical certifications, etc.). I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Van-Minh Nguyen at Concentra on Alhambra, and I feel it's important to share my concerns for anyone considering care at this facility. I suffer from severe muscle spasms in my back, and instead of recommending an appropriate treatment such as physical therapy, he insisted that chiropractic treatment would be more effective. In my experience, getting my back cracked provided no relief and only risked worsening the injury. What I truly needed was a safe, guided approach to stretching and strengthening my back without causing further harm. Communication was another significant issue. Dr. Nguyen's English was broken, which made it difficult to effectively communicate my symptoms or understand his recommendations. The lack of clear communication left me feeling frustrated and unheard throughout my care. What troubled me most was his unprofessional behavior and lack of interest in helping me. From my first appointment, he made a comment about possibly finding someone else to see me, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Additionally, he never physically examined or assessed my back, opting instead to sit at his computer, typing notes without asking meaningful questions until after he was done. His hands-off approach made it clear he wasn't invested in providing proper care. To make matters worse, Dr. Nguyen falsely documented my progress, stating that I was improving without any input from me. I never told him I was feeling better, and this blatant misrepresentation was unethical and unacceptable. Misreporting a patient's condition without a thorough evaluation or consent is a violation of medical ethics and patient care standards. Dr. Nguyen's failure to provide a physical assessment, develop an appropriate treatment plan, or communicate effectively demonstrates a concerning level of negligence. His approach fell far short of the professionalism and care patients deserve. If you are seeking treatment for back issues or muscle spasms, I strongly recommend finding a provider who will listen, properly assess your condition, and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Nguyen or Concentra on Alhambra for effective or compassionate care. The Yelp reviews are true but I guess it varies for why you're visiting. I came here for a physical exam for work. Wait time is unpredictable and I read the reviews before coming here, so I arrived with a portable phone charger and a book to survive the long wait. I arrived 1:45pm and waited in the lobby till about 4:30 until they called me to the back and still had to wait for a medical room. I didn't get into a medical room till about 5:15pm and had to wait another 15 - 20 mins to be seen by the doctor. The physical was so quick! A couple exercises like look up, look down, stretching, etc and it only took less than 5 mins for that physical exam but the wait was almost 4 hrs?? Tbh they are super upfront and let you know the wait time is like 2 to 3 or even 4 hrs and they stopped accepting some patients at 3pm ish? I guess the day I went one of the physicians was out so the wait was longer but idk, definitely be prepared to wait and try to go to your PCP or somewhere else if possible. Also, don't pay for parking. When you get into Concentra they have you fill out a form and you write your license # down and they'll take care of the parking payment. +1 star for free parking & +1 star for snacks and drinks. No wifi available and making an appointment really doesn't make a difference when you're seen. I made an appointment for 1pm and went after every person that was in the office before me appt or not. I waited about 1 1/2 hours to get in and my employer said it's been worse for other employees. They do validate parking!! They don't tell you until you're inside, so I saw lots of people paying via their phones before they went in. Went to the Alhambra location today with my daughter and from start to finish it was perfection. I'll be honest, I was hesitant going in because of reading the reviews over the weekend however this was the location she needed to go to for her new hire screening. We walked in and were happy to see only a few people in the waiting room and one person ahead of us checking in. Yesenia checked my daughter in at 2:00 pm and was very friendly, patient and thourough. She got all my daughter's info and answered our questions. I mentioned it was my birthday today and hoping not to have to wait too long and she told us only one person was ahead of us and it should be fairly quick. Yay...We were in luck! I asked if we could wait in our car and she said that was totally fine and if we were not in the waiting room when it was her turn, they would call us on her phone. Yesenia told my daughter that she had to check in on her phone and I told her I'd run back in with my license plate number (you'll need this when you check in to validate parking). Checking in at the front desk was seamless and prompt. There was water and snacks in a basket at the check in counter, which was great as I grabbed a water bottle. I took a photo of my license plate and walked back into the office and there was a second girl up front checking people in. I went back over to Yesenia and showed her my plate number and she typed it in and said to come back in about five minutes because they will be calling my daughter back soon. We walk back in and the office had gotten very busy, there were quite a few people checking in and in the waiting area, however all the staff was working diligently getting the patients taken care of....within less than a minute a young man is calling my daughter back. Andrew greeted us and showed us to the room we needed to go to and was super friendly, very efficient and professional. He was super organized, explained what needed to be done for her test and answered all her questions. My daughter completed her test and we waited while Andrew finalized his part of her testing. He was very dialed in and knowledgeable with what he was doing. We chatted while finishing everything up and he was patient while my daughter checked to make sure there was nothing else she needed to have done at this visit. Andrew went up to the front desk to confirm my daughter was all good with Yesenia before we headed out. I felt both of these individuals went above and beyond today and the care and attention we recieved at this location was exceptional. Everything went so smoothly from the moment we walked through the front door until we walked out.... By 2:40 we were leaving the parking lot. Came to this location for pre- employment drug screening and physical. Very disorganized office staff was confused on if it was DOT vs non Dot physical. It was clearly stated on paperwork Non DOT. Took urine sample. Waited another 1.5 hours until called to do physical. Waited another 1.5 hours to see doctor so I can actually leave! After meeting doctor they realize I have to do another urine sample to test for diabetes and other health conditions!? They definitely didn't follow protocol and confused on how to process my pre employment. Worst location don't come here! Just got called from my job saying Concentra lost my urine sample! There was a man in front of me who walked in before me, and was asking questions, meanwhile another patient came out from the restroom, and just interrupted the man at the counter, and the lady stopped speaking to the man to attend to the other customer. The man at the counter asked more questions, and the lady responded to him while simultaneously talking to the other patient. Finally, the man in front of me left, as did the other patient, and I asked to be seen for urgent care... The receptionist barely made eye contact with me and told me that they were no longer accepting urgent care appointments for the day, at 3:30 PM. There is one front desk assistant that ruins it for the entire office. Patients come for care and the first person they deal with has no people skills, she acts as if she doesn't like her job or people. I have never heard her greet anyone. Emily Hernandez in PT was scary to work with for me. Idk if she didn't like me or she was racist but something was def off. Hardly interact with me or ask how I was feeling. wow. I have never experienced such poor care from a healthcare professional in my life. NP lillian Ongeri is one of the rudest nurses I have ever come across. I'm a nurse as well so I've met many many nurses. this nurse lacks knowledge, care, patience and compassion. she's very unprofessional not just in appearance but communication and care. she walked into the exam room with filthy scrubs which is unprofessional, your appearance in a healthcare setting is important its one of the first things noticed by your patients. she didn't greet me, say hello, how are you, nothing at all. I was there for a physical exam and she completed it in 2 minutes. assessed my ears, eyes etc. had me touch my toes, a quick scan. she had very little words. didn't answer questions. she wasn't friendly or approachable at all. once the exam was done she simply picked up my folder and left the room. I sat in the room for a few minutes not knowing if I was done or if i needed to sign anything. nothing at all. so I sat and wondered. A medical assistant had to come in and tell me that i was okay to leave. I feel that as a health care professional the key things a person should be is caring, and professional. this nurse practitioner was none of the above. maybe she is burnt out. many nurses are.... however if she didn't want to be at work, her attitude definitely displayed that. she should have stayed home and rested. she alone made my experience at the clinic very very uncomfortable. So much that I contacted cooperate and made a complaint. hopefully a director will contact this nurse and possibly require her to do some sort of customer service training. It is apparent that the staff of this medical facility see its patients as numbers and not human beings. I have sat in the waiting room and heard MA's joke about patients behind the counter, loud enough to where those of us in the waiting room could hear what was being said. I've watched them dismiss the concerns of patients and roll their eyes at patients when asked how much long they'd be waiting. I never once felt like my well being was of any concern to Concentra staff. Your average exam will consist of getting between 2-6 seconds of eye contact while your examiner will spend 98-99% of their time typing on a keyboard while asking you questions. Minimal effort is put forth to actually examine patients. Across 6-8 appointments I would say I garnered a collective 30sec of eye contact and approximately 2min of physical examination. The entire rest of an appointment at this facility is sitting there watching your PA or MA type. It is evident that they are overworked, understaffed, and their ONLY goal is to complete their charting as quickly as possible so that they can move onto the next number. They are not here to take care of you. The physical therapy department is the only area with competent staff members who genuinely behave as if they care about your wellbeing. read more

I had called yesterday and asked if I could schedule an appointment and they told me no appointment was needed that usually everything is done in 15 to 20 minutes so when I walked in I was helped by this really really rude girl who literally had attitude and after telling her what I came in for all she said was send it to my email She had an attitude and was really short and when I asked her how long she seemed to roll her eyes and said 15 to 30 minutes which I thought I could wait since I came in at 2:25 pm. She then in an annoyed tone says oh "you'll get a text fill it out" and that's all she directs at me. Almost 10 minutes after I finally get the text . There were people after me who got helped before me which I thought was weird, so I went up to these two other attendants different from the first one who honestly were super nice and super understanding from the first person that helped me and it turns out that they do have appointments. They very kindly explained to me everything but I could no longer wait since it was already 3:12 and almost everyone that came after me had already been helped. I no longer had time to wait another 15 minutes and see if I'd be helped. It was really upsetting that I tried to set an appointment and they told me that it was a quick and easy in and out and then when I got there they also said that it would be 15 to 30 minutes however, I waited about 45 minutes and people, who are behind me in line had already been helped. One girl who is sitting next to me even said oh I thought you were here before me and she told me she was a walk up. I'm not sure who the first person who helped me was, but she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I just know she had me sent her the email to msaechao. But I do not think that was her name.
